My "shower time" is my "reflect on things" time. Often tough problems seem to reveal their answer when I turn inwards and think quietly with all external distractions removed.

It struck me in the shower today, that I have a tremendous, close knit group of friends who are a vital part of my social support - an important part of my connection with others. It is not my best friends who I go see movies with and chat on the phone with. It is not the many friends and coworkers I interact with during my work day.

It is my friends here on the DIS.

As I considered the many people who I have come to know and care about it struck me how important those relationships have become in my life. I won't name names - I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by ommission. But, I sat and named MANY dissers who I regularly interact with - via PMs, regular posts, and once in a great while CHAT!

There are garden gurus, animal lovers, and playful riddle buds. There are many kind souls who speak from their heart and make me wish I could be more like them. They are the imps who play "fluff" games - keeping large doses of childish enthusiasm and wonder in my life. There are the considerate ones who out of the blue send encouraging and thoughtful pms. And a few are all of the above. True treasures.

All of them engaging and everyone an enrichment of my life.

What a lucky person I am.

It struck me in the shower today...

After only reading the title I was gonna suggest that you tighten the shower head to keep it from happening again!

That's nice, DixieDreamer. I have some very close friends here, too. I hurt when they hurt, I laugh when they laugh. They encourage me, I do my best to encourage them. I value their opinions-and I know I can go to them and they will truthfully tell me how they see things. I appreciate them and I hope they know how very special they are to me. I've never met them, but I feel closer to them more so than people that I have actually met. I feel lucky and truly blessed that I have "met" these kind, sweet people that have enriched my life so very much.

I love shower time, too.:)

It is amazing how lives from the DIS touch me here in my little home.

I'm sure I'm not in your most "tightest" group here on the DIS, DblD, but you are a special DISer to me.:D

OK...so let me understand this right. You like to think of DISers while you're naked???

Do you take long showers?

Isn't it funny that so many that we have never meet have become such an important part of our life.

My friends do not understand my relationship with the people on the Dis. Not that I am an overly friendly person here (kind of a loner) but I do care so much about the people who post here. I feel their pain, sorrow, disappointment, joy and happiness. I cry when the cry, laugh when they laugh and I do love meeting the few Dis'ers I have meet.

DD I think you are a very special person, one of the many here whom I may not have meet but care about.

To a very special Bud, thanks for allowing me into you world. The rewards have all been mine. I do someday hope to meet.

I think I'll take a shower!

Hi, Laura! I know exactly what you mean. I can't explain it but I feel closer to people on the DIS than I do here at home. I've formed some incredible friendships that can stand the test of time of distance. It's a great feeling!
I'm so glad we met and spent some time together. Can't wait to see you again in December!! :)
Thanks for the special thoughts. {{{{hugs}}}}}
