Just heard that Spirit Airlines is giving away all of it's seats on all of it's flights on Sept 11 to commemorate and honor life and our freedoms. 13,000 free seats.

Same with me, you couldn't pay me to fly on that day... hey, I haven't flown since last August...

It's not flying on Sept 11th....it's flying Spirit Airlines that gives me pause!

I fly Spirit Airlines quite frequently and I think this offer is wonderful. While American and United cut flights to save money from unsold seats, Spirit is holding the doors wide open and encouraging us to come aboard. Nice...;)

I think that is a FANTASTIC idea.... kinda thumbing our noses at the terrorists..... unfortunately I have never heard of Spirit Airlines.

Its based in Ft. Luderdale Florida, that is why you never heard of it. Its a small company. NO-I will NOT be flying that day, or any OTHER day!:rolleyes:

You can't even get on its website.

With that said...I wonder if Spirit will even be around a month from now. It's a privately held company and doesn't have to disclose its financial status, which is rumored to be heading toward bankruptcy. :rolleyes:

I sure as heck hope so as I am traveling with them again for my trip to WDW next month. Good thing I don't put any stock in "rumors"! ;)

Well, I tried all day to access this site and got that dreaded "page cannot be accessed" message.

I finally got through and got this message:

The Spirit of freedom program has been an overwhelming success.

There are no more seats available for travel on September 11th.

We thank you for your participation and for your patience
