We rented a car for our December cruise; does anyone know how long it will take to get from the Cape Canaveral National office to the Port? Is there a shuttle to the ports?

We used National in July - it's about a 15 mile trip - there is no shuttle - they will call you a taxi and it cost $11 to get to the port. After my dh dropped us off at the port he took the car back and returned approx. 45 minutes later.
There is another thread where the DIS'er was extremely displeased with National's taxi voucher system. He said he had to wait a loooong time for taxis both coming and going.
We have always used Avis and been very pleased with their shuttle service.

I agree about Avis. We almost always use National, but after reading this board and spending the night at the Radisson for our May cruise we went with Avis and it was great! The Avis drop off is closest to the port and has the shuttle. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We love National also, but for cruising, I'd use the Avis/Radisson combination.

Thanks for the info! We had no idea Nat'l was that far from the ports. As it is, we are arriving Orlando the day our cruise departs, and I'd like as few delays as possible in getting to the ship. We will look into Avis:)

Last time we cruised we used National, and it was quite far from the port. I was going to use Avis this time, but after checking all the prices, plus taxes and fees, I am using Tiffany Town Car. The price is almost the same, and we don't have to lug the luggage.

What about the tip? Wouldn't that add another $10 to Tiffany? I guess that's the trade-off for not hasseling with the luggages and needing to pick up/return the car...
