This may sound like a really dumb question, but I haven't a clue as to what the difference is between a childs size 7 and 7X. I assume it means the 7X is slightly bigger in some manner, but I have know idea in what way.

The difference between a 7 & a 7X is similar to the difference between a 6 & a 7. It's one size larger.

Isn't that kind of silly? Why wouldn't they just call it a size 8 if it is one size larger? Go figure.....

Thanks for the clarification!!!! :)

I disagree. I think the 7X is 'roomier' for a child who's still 7 and short but, starting to gain weight.

Kinda like with jeans, there's slim, regular & hefty (or some other graceful description). ;)

Hi, I agree with Kimraye...7x is just a little bit roomier than 7...

Hey Kim, I was always in 'chubby' girls clothes from Sears or Monkey wards....I can giggle about it now as I wish I was still a "chubby miss"

7X is a little bit bigger, in the "width" and slightly in Length. .

There's a size 6x too. I didn't know they had a 7x. I always thought the 6x was more like a 6 1/2. Sort of halfway between 6 and 7

~sigh~ I miss being a 6x.;) I was a 6x in 1st and 2nd grade.:p

The x's are just slightly bigger in the belly and butt, I think. But I don't think the length is different than the whole number size.
