*Said in a Newscaster’s voice* :mic:
Good morning to all from the Middle of Nowhere, it looks like its going to be a wonderful warm and sunny spring day with a slight chance of going insane, a well thought out plan, and a possibility of thrown - ehem, I mean “falling” binders.
*Normal Voice*
Ok. Now that we have gotten you through that lovely start, I will take the time to introduce the nutty cast of characters for this PTR.
DGma :tigger: - 65 - The kind of woman who will never be old. She is the grandma that loves to be involved and a monster with a camera. Her first trip was with my DM in 2008. She was there for eight days and took (quite literally) around 5000 pictures. They were forced to start two hours earlier than planned because DGma insisted on stopping to take pictures. Her favorite Disney character is Dori.
-Note: Once we get a picture account we will be sure to post some from previous trips and this upcoming trip.-
DM ::MinnieMo - 38 - A bigger Disney-lover than myself. She’s a workaholic and an awesome mother who is determined to drive the rest of the cast up the wall with her commando touring ways. She has promised to take things easier this year.. We will see. Her favorite Disney characters are Winnie the Pooh and Bambi.
DBFF :stitch: -19- My best friend for around five years now. She tends to shy around new rides which means I get to introduce some to her *insert evil laughter* This will be the longest trip we have been stuck together and the longest amount of time in a vehicle together :crowded: Yeah. Her favorite Disney character is Ariel.
ME :ccat: - 17 - Turning 18 on this trip. This will be my third trip. It’s to celebrate my graduation from H.S. and VoTech along with my birthday. Triple celebration! :woohoo: I have many names to go by - Brittany, Erica, Tegan, shorty, demon, peacock and currently pinky and strawberry. My favorite Disney character is Scar.. Ok. He’s my favorite villain. My favorite characters are Simba and Stitch.
So it will be my pleasure in this PTR to tell you the ups - the downs - the random madness - and any binder chucking we may encounter. Not to mention the out-of-place recall of trips previous. Here’s to hoping we survive. Over and Out. :smooth:

I'm glad to know that there's people following my report. :thumbsup2 I'm going to post the next piece either late tonight or early tomorrow. I would do it now but I need my mother's help on pictures. I also decided that I'm going to change the font for the report to distinguish it from my own comments. Though it's not real hard to do that really. :rotfl:
So the next piece should have info. and pic.s.

So as you learned in the previous piece, this trip was originally for my graduation from high school but had then evolved into a triple celebration. :dance3: This trip was decided quite a while ago - like three years ago. Quite a period of time to plan a vacation. But first, perhaps I should tell you how my mother and then myself came to love Disney. It all began with a promise. A promise from my dad that when my youngest sister turned ten, we could go to Disney World - for a day. :sad2: Well with my sister’s birthday approaching, my mom started her research and came to a realization - one day just wouldn’t cut it. So one day turned into eight. Then my dad backed out of the trip so it became a mother-daughter vacation. Oh yeah, that went well. :scared: Tempers flared and arguments broke out but somehow in the midst of the sibling rivalry and the parental exasperation, my mom fell in love with Disney. A few days into our trip she decided to break an awkward silence by asking, “So who wants Disney as a graduation trip?”
My sister’s replies were instantaneous, “Yeah!” “Ok.”
I thought about it for a moment but already the Disney charm was taking a hold of me so I smiled and agreed. Which is how my third Disney trip came into light.
My second one was much more spontaneous.

Wow, that sure sounds like a doozy! But it's awesome that you'll be going after all!
My own upcoming vacation didn't go through as much drama. It was more me trying to figure out if I could save up enough money for a grad trip. And I did! And now it's turned into a triple celebration as well! Even though, it's no longer a double-grad anymore.... (cause I decided to spend an extra year in school)
I can't believe your dad even brought up the idea of just ONE DAY at Disney! I guess he just didn't know of all that WDW has to offer.

Yeah, now we know better about the days. I don't think this coming trip will have so much drama. Mainly because the four of us going get along on a daily basis.

I must be getting stressed about the upcoming trip. :scared: I dreamed last night that we were running late to leave for our trip..... like a day late. :scared1: I finally told every one, "I don't care what you pack, just get it packed and into the car!" Well DM (Dgma on this trip) wanted to pack coleslaw. :confused3 WHAT are we going to do with a tub of coleslaw? :lmao:
So with "everything" packed we left for WSDW. After driving for a day I realized some important stuff wasn't packed! :scared1: So we turned around and headed home.:headache: Once we got home I decided that it was too late to go and canceled the trip.:headache: :sad1:
Well I don't know about the rest of you, but pretty much any thing I may forget to pack can either be shipped or bought in Orlando! :lmao:

As I said earlier, my second trip was much more spontaneous than being planned three years in advance. It was made less than a year in advance. My cousin Amanda had recently moved in with us from out of state in order to attend a nearby vocational school. One day, after returning to the house from work, she found my mother and myself in the living room having a discussion - about Disney.
My mother had smiled at her and brought up the main subject of our Disney conversation.
“Amanda, have you ever been to Disney?”
I smiled widely. Sweet success. Mom was practically bouncing in her seat and Amanda… Well Amanda looked confused.
“No.” She answered slowly, unsure of where this conversation was leading.
“You want to go?” Mom asked, looking more and more pleased. :goodvibes
“Someday, yeah.” Amanda said, looking to me like my mother was crazy. As if I didn’t already know that. :rotfl:
“Good. We’re going to Disney.” My mom said before getting up and leaving the room.
Amanda stared at me and, unable to help myself, I laughed at her. :lmao:
A few weeks later, my sisters, Amanda, and I were researching the restaurants in Disney for our upcoming trip. Amanda turned to me and said, “I thought she was joking.”
I could only laugh in response.

At the beginning of this year, we were able to confirm my hopes - my trip to Disney would be the coming summer. With this confirmed, my mom told me to be sure that I had a friend chosen that would accompany us to Florida. I told her “no worries.”
A few days later, I got on the phone and called the nutcase I had decided on - Deonna. Unable to keep the excitement out of my voice, I told her to request two weeks off at the beginning of summer cause she was going to Florida. She had known that my family had taken two trips previously and that another one was coming up for me but I don’t think she had known that I had planned on taking her with us. Immediately, she was worried.
“Well, how much is this going to cost?” she asked. Thankfully my mom was at home and I told her of Deonna’s concerns. My mom merely smiled and said the only money that Deonna needed to worry about was if she wanted to go souvenir shopping, the rest was being taken care of.
After managing to calm her financial worries, I asked Deonna if there was anything specific that she wanted to do while there. Her answer was immediate. She wanted to ride the Tower of Terror. There was silence on the phone before I managed to choke out, “You wanna ride what now?”
We are still debating this issue.

One day we were waiting in the past pass line behind a little girl and her mother.
It wasn't a busy day and the little girl had ridden it 11 times.

It was probably pretty easy to figure out what this update what about, right? Star Wars Weekend! :thumbsup2 I got to enjoy this particular event last year and I get to do it again this year. Deonna, who has not even seen all the movies, is also looking forward to going. Last year, I had gotten an autograph book just for this event. Did pretty good for my first time getting them too. :cool2:
Until… The Tusken Raiders aka the Sand People aka the Biggest Pains one will ever meet. Really now.. looking back, I should have known better. After all, I had just watched them make off with some poor girl’s flipflop, making her pursue them in an attempt to retrieve it. :sad2:
I went up to one of the Raiders for an autograph and he stole my book and pen then ran off! I must admit that I was slightly shocked. I stood there for a moment - mouth wide open. Then my senses came back and I took after him with my sister right behind me. Now.. I am not a runner. So, it wasn’t long before I was slowing to a stop. :headache: My sister had to retrieve the stuff for me. :rolleyes1
Perhaps, I should have stopped there. However by that point, I was determined to get that autograph. :jumping2: So.. I approached him again.
And of course, he took the stuff. Again.
I was in turmoil. One part of me argued that this was fun and that I should play along and give chase. The other part - the one collapsed against the mental walls of my mind - wanted to throttle the first. :darth: Then good sense came and knocked me upside the head and I realized something - I couldn’t run after him if I wanted to. So my sister did it for me.
I finally got the autograph though.

Once mom had gotten the dates set for our trip and checked with Gma and Deonna about them, another very important issue arose - where we were going to eat. Cause we are an eating family. Although I gotta admit, one of my favorite things about the restaurants is simply the atmosphere of them. Well, several months had passed since the dates were discovered and Deonna and I… had made no move in trying to think of places to eat.:rolleyes1 Mom had given us a list of websites so that we could pick some out but we had not gotten around to doing it. Finally, mom told me, “You better invite Deonna to spend the night so we can discuss Disney.” So I did. :thumbsup2
We got on the computer and pulled up the websites.. then mom left us. Deonna and I stared at the computer like a monkey looking at a map.:p Finally after trial-and-error (meaning we randomly clicked links on the site till we found what we were looking for), we found the menus option. I swear I’ve found physics problems easier than some of the sites. :faint: Then came the next problem - what did we want to eat? Two rules came to our mind: One, Deonna had to have one BBQ place in our plans and Two, I was avoiding all Italian food possible. I am not a pasta girl. Crazy right? Deonna thinks so. ;)
While going through the endless lists of restaurants and deciding that we most definitely did not want Cinderella’s Royal Table, I remembered two places that were an absolute must. Earl of Sandwich and the Yakatori House. When I voiced this opinion to Deonna, her reaction was.. Interesting.
She looked at me like I was a demented old lady wearing ducky slippers and a turban. :rotfl2:
“You want to eat at a place called the Yakatori House?”
I could sense the disbelief in her voice so I merely grinned, nodded, and said “Just don’t get the ginger cake.”
Finally after much debate, asking two stubborn adults where they liked to eat, and generally researching what some foods even were, we were able to make our meal plans: :woohoo:
Arrival Day - Earl of Sandwich and Ghirardelli’s Chocolate
Day 1 (B) 1900 Park Fare (L) Grand Floridian Café (D) Chef Mickey’s
Day 2 Kona Café Beaches and Cream 50’s Prime Time
Day 3 Boma Yakatori House Teppan Edo(MyBirthday)
Day 4 Tusker House Flame Tree BBQ Planet Hollywood
Day 5 Chef Mickey’s Coral Reef Spirit of Aloha
Day 6 WCC Tusker House (for DM and DGma) (Whatever we decide) Jikos
Day 7 Crystal Palace Restaurant Marrakesh Raglan Road
Day 8 Cape May Rainforest Café (AK) WCC
I can't upload pictures today because of the whole internet thing combined with the fact that I don't have them yet.. Sorry. Will have double for the next post.

Two rules came to our mind: One, Deonna had to have one BBQ place in our plans and Two, I was avoiding all Italian food possible. I am not a pasta girl. Crazy right? Deonna thinks so. ;)

That way at some of the places if we want to share we can share or if we aren't hungry we can cancel a ressie and not be out any money.

Oooh, a TIW card. Thank sounds good.
