Hello everyone,
I am a disney veteran, but new to this site lol I wanted to start a planning journal, and I am hoping that I am going about this in the right way (feel free to inform me if I have read into this wrong!).
So our wedding is set for September 9th of this year - less than 5 months to go!! I have already signed and returned my letter of agreement, and will be having my first planning session tomorrow. Unfortunately this session will be over the phone, as we are from Canada, and it would be quite a trip to make for a planning session lol
I am an organized person, but I have a hard time making decisions - so I have stuff planned out, but with a few alternates lol And with Disney, there are no limits to the options you have!
At this point,
- my dress is already paid for, and in my moms home. It fits perfectly except that it is a little too long, so I have to get the front hemmed a bit.
- I have started some pre-wedding party planning. Our guests are all booked at their hotels and ready to go.
- Save the dates have been received by our guests (sooo exciting).
- Our disneymoon accommodations have been booked
- We have our wedding scheduled at the Pavilion, with a reception to follow at the Grand Floridian
- I just bought my wedding shoes for a great deal on the weekend
- We have our attendants chosen
And I am sure that there is more, but I won't drone on about it for too long! I am starting to get excited now - the real planning has begun! And this site has been a huge help and inspiration! So thanks to anyone who read this, I am sorry if I did not do this properly, and I will post some more after my meeting tomorrow!

Thank you for the replies so far!! This is such an exciting time, and it is great to have some fellow Disney enthusiasts to share it with!
I am going to write some more about my planning now.
I will start at the beginning with us and our engagement. My name is Krysten, I am 23, his name is Michael, and he is 22. We met in high school, when he came to school elaborately dressed as Paul Stanley (from KISS). I wanted to know who he was (the whole place gave him a round of applause lol) so a mutual friend introduced us. We started talking online, and discovered that we have the same birthday (!) which gave us something to talk about, and things just went from there. We have been together for over 4 years now, and we bought our first home together last year - so marriage makes sense.
Our engagement is very simple, we were at home on a Thursday night, in pj's. I thought that he was mad or something because he just got up and left, but he came back a couple of minutes later with a ring, and asked me right then and there. It was sweet, and it is true to how we are. I cannot post pictures yet, but the ring is a princess cut solitaire in white gold, with baguettes on the sides.
We naturally told all of our family and friends - who were all very happy for us. My mom (almost immediately!) called our travel agent and asked her to send us information about a Disneymoon. (Quick side note, my family has been going to Disney for years, it is quite a trip from Canada, but we go as often as we can, and we are all huge Disney enthusiasts!). At this time, we were only thinking about doing a wedding at home, with a Disneymoon.
I started looking into wedding costs and venues locally, and was not overly excited about anything. Everything was so expensive, and not really special. We saw a few venues, they were nice facilities, but they had no wow factor - they were just like every other wedding that happens around here.
One day, I went onto my laptop and just started looking at Disney Weddings. With everything that I looked at, I got more and more excited. This wedding would be special, it would be very me/us, and it would be cheaper! It didn't take long to realize that a Disney Wedding was meant to be.
I will post some pictures of my ring and dress once I am able to.
Also, I had my first over the phone planning meeting today. I would much rather have been there in person, but that is quite a trip just for a meeting lol However, the meeting went well, I didn't have the answers to all of the questions (as I had hoped) but I had most things that she asked me. There are still a lot of things to work out, but things are going well so far.
I will post again soon, perhaps later tonight after my meeting to discuss some pre-wedding party stuff.
Thank you for reading!

Thank you to everyone who has followed along so far! I had my floral phone meeting today, and my floral planners are Warren and Rose. I am very excited about this whole thing! I know nothing about flowers, so they are going to price me out a few options, and send some pictures! so that I have a better idea of what I am looking at. Since I am not paying for the most of this wedding, I am going to do what I can to keep costs down.
For my bouquet, I am deciding between calla lilies and roses - or possibly a combination bouquet! I will have a few crystal hidden mickeys in there too! And flower colours are going to be purple and white. I also want to do a rose wand for my flower girl - she will only be 2 and a half, and she loves wands - so it will be perfect for her! The wedding party is all male, so they will only need bouts, not very exciting lol
We also decided on doing a petal toss for our staged exit. I am not sure though how I would like the petals... in a basket, in chiffon bags, or in cones. Any thoughts?
We are also going to be putting some petals on tables to give them some colour.
Our centrepieces were something I knew I wanted, and turned out to be cheaper than I expected!! Big yay! Here is a picture of them.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Screenshot2010-04-16at41950PM.png
They will have fresh floral inside that matches the rest of our flowers. They are wrought iron, with glass beads and ivy, and twinkle lights! I am very happy with them!
Because we are on a budget, I am keeping the standard linens for now, but may upgrade later. The only problem that I came across is that the GF chairs do not go with my colour scheme at all - so I will most likely need to get chair covers. I like beautiful chairs much more than chair covers, but it would probably be more cost effective to get chair covers than bring in other chairs. If anyone has thoughts on chairs, or knows the pricing of other chairs, feel free to share!
We are looking into a couple of different favours from Disney right now. I like the chocolate cinderella slipper for an edible favour. There are also these adorable little ceramic coaches that I love! I will post some pictures of these coaches once I get them sent to me.
Overall, this was a successful meeting! I got a ton of valuable information and I am sure that I will have to make changes to my floral plan, but I am happy with it anyway!
Thanks for reading! See you all soon!

I have been interested for a while now in the coach centrepieces but unable to get any details about them!! What price are they?
Also, I would be very interested to see the little ceramic coachs when you have a picture!! How much are they each?
Thanks so much

Sambycat - thank you for the link! it is great, and really expresses what we all go through when trying to pick things like chairs - I love it!
Here is a picture of the coach favours. We are probably going to do these and some sort of chocolate favour - the men that are coming won't really have a purpose for these lol
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Favours.jpg
These cost 6.50 each with no ribbon or tags or anything inside of them. But you can add anything to them that you want. Rose told me that they perfectly fit one hershey kiss inside! So cute.
Tinkerbell766 - The coach centrepieces are only $90! And that includes everything - even the fresh floral! I read something about these coaches when I first started planning and it said that they were $160, so 90 is quite refreshing lol Let me know if you have any other questions about them that I might be able to help you answer!
That is all I have for now, I have to work this morning, but I will be back later with more updates!

Thank you! I love weddings as well - especially Disney ones!! Make sure you let us all know if you do end up renewing your vows!
Thanks for the kind words everyone! Not a whole lot has happened in the last few days. I am waiting (not overly patiently I might add!) for my BEO, which will help me determine what I need to do next.
I have also been working on a wedding newsletter! I don't have a program like iWork, so I have been making it in powerpoint. So far it is going well, it just takes some time. My mom is so super excited about it (just like she is for the rest of the wedding!) and that makes me so happy! My mom is paying for the majority of this wedding herself, and she has worked very hard to do so. I would not be where I am today without her, and having her by my side to plan this wedding is the best thing I could have hoped for! She is just as excited as me about everything that DF and I decide to do.
Anyways, enough babbling, I will be back with some more updates and stuff soon!

I am a little sad right now. I have been waiting for my BEO, and my mail just came, but the mail lady left the house before I could get to the door, so I have a note saying that I can pick up my post after 5pm tonight. So now I have to wait all day :( I wasn't this upset waiting for it until I missed it by 30 seconds!
Also, thanks for your comments DVCBride!

Hi Everyone!
As a native Floridian, I've grown up around Disney. It was our quick family getaway several times a year. My sister has worked there for over ten years so it seems only natural she talked me into having a DFTW (She didn't and has regretted it since).
My wedding date is 3.13.11. We just booked a 5pm ceremony @ the pavillion and are having our pre/reception @ Atlantic Dance. Is anyone else planning a wedding there? What should I be on the lookout for?
Any recommendations on photographers/musicians/djs/etc?
Congrats to all of you...

So the mail that I thought was my BEO yesterday just turned out to be DF's passport - so still no BEO :( My planner said I would have it by Friday, so it should be here soon!
We have picked out our wedding bands already, and yesterday I paid off DF's and put money on mine, so we now have DF's band in our possession! He picked it out himself, but I really like it too, it probably would have been my first pick as well! It is a classic type of ring, not likely to go out of style. He probably won't wear it very much because of his line of work, but it is a nice ring anywhere. Here are a couple of pictures of it.

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01802.jpg
So that is one more thing crossed off of my list!
I finally managed to get a picture of my dress from the website onto my computer. I don't have any of me in it here. I ordered it in white (not the colour in the picture), and it has come in so I am keeping it at my moms. It fits me really well so the only alterations I need is to have the hem taken up a bit. So here is a picture of the front and back.

I like it better in white, and in person than in the picture.
What I am working on now:
- Making newsletters for our guests
- Working on our music list (really need some help with this one)
- I have to pick someone to do our toast, which I have some ideas on, but nothing is set in stone
- Work on a picture list
- Figuring out photography
- Figuring out flowers
- Waiting patiently for my BEO!
More updates soon!
Where in Canada are you from? Just wondered if it was near Maine? I love, love, love your centerpieces!!

Congratulations on your engagement and future DFTW! I am planning my wedding ceremony at the pavilion as well, but my reception is not at the Dance hall so I cannot help you there. What kinds of things did you want to know? There are a ton of good photographers recommended around these boards, but you might want to make a post on the main boards and you will get more responses that way. Hopefully that helps you!

So I am going to post a couple of updates today! First, this will be my shopping update.
I still have no BEO. I emailed my planner to see if she has an estimate of when I should be getting it. Hopefully it didn't disappear in the mail or something!
When we decided that we were going to have this wedding in Disney, we decided that we wanted to have something special for our flower girls. Originally we were thinking of doing something like DisneyFlorist that sends things to your room before you get there. We don't live anywhere near Disney (or really a Disney store even), but my grandparents spend a few months in Florida every winter. So my grandmother said that she would look for some things for us - so glad that she did that!! She did an amazing job!
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01806.jpg
Here is a picture of the stuff she got. There are beach towels, nylon backpack type bags, photo albums, sunglasses, colouring books, autograph albums, paper and pen sets, rain ponchos, plush minnie mouse dolls, dry erase boards, drink bottles, etc.
And a couple closeups:
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01807.jpghttp://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01808.jpg
So gramma did an amazing job - and got good deals too!
I have also bought my wedding shoes:
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01803.jpghttp://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01804.jpg
They are white, very simple, have a small heel so that they look pretty but won't be overly uncomfortable - and they only cost me $15. I was originally going to get some of the ballet flat type crocs, but I haven't been able to locate any around here.
On the weekend I bought ceremony sand - another great deal. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01805.jpg
I asked DF what colour of sand he wanted and his reply was black! He is a huge KISS fan, and I am sure this is where it came from lol so I also bought some natural looking sand and I think we are going to "dilute" the black sand. The only purple they had was this dark one, or I might have been able to get away with black and light purple. Maybe I will dilute the purple sand with the natural sand. Who knew that sand could be so complicated?! Any opinions are appreciated!
I still need to get vases for the sand. Where did everyone buy these? I haven't really seen any that I liked, or I have seen ones that come in a kit which includes the vases and an ugly colour of sand and is really expensive. Still working on the vase front.

Next is my DIY update.
So I have tried a couple of the DIY projects that I have been meaning to get to lately.
First, I made a mickey head fan/program. I don't yet have any of the wording on it, but I wanted to get the design down first. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01811-1.jpg
This is what attempt number 1 looks like. I used my cricut cutter for the mickey head and the monogram, rhinestones for the jewelled mickey head, and I used an embossing pen and powder to emboss the date onto it. It still needs some tweaking - I put no ribbon or anything onto the stick because somehow I didn't have a colour that matched :O, I am not sure how I feel about the font, and the colours will have to be slightly adjusted. So if you would like, you can share your opinions, but please be kind.
Next, I made an attempt at invitations - this went over much better than my original attempt when I first got engaged.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01812-1.jpghttp://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01813.jpg
Again, there may need to be some small adjustments. I used the materials that I had in my scrapbooking room, so I will have to go out and find supplies that all match well. I used a wedding invite type paper for the outside and pocket. I used a castle punch and a circle, plus some purple ribbon to act as the enclosure. The inside I used a purple paper, and white cardstock (where the writing will be) and vellum over top. I used 1 big and 2 small crystal brads to make a mickey head. I just stuck some light purple cardstock in 3 different sizes in the pocket so that I could get an idea of what it would look like. Again, I will respect your opinions, but be kind please!
I have been having horrid difficulties finding invite paper where I live. Where did everyone get their paper for DIY invites? I am not crazy about ordering over the internet, but I may have to. At one time, the Michael's near my house carried a metallic paper that is what is typically used in wedding invites (but they had none in purple) and now I cannot seem to find it at all, and they won't order it in. Any suggestions here will be greatly appreciated.

Okay, so one final update today.
We were originally going to have a family friend come down and do photography, but now she is unable to make it. So I have done some research into Orlando photogs (thanks to all of you Disbrides!) and we are going to book Randy Chapman. He responded to my emails promptly, seems really nice, offered us a great package that works with our budget, and I have heard great things about him from these boards. I just have to fax him our contract, which I will do tomorrow at work. In all honesty, I am kind of relieved to now be working with someone who is familiar with Disney - our friend wouldn't have known the ins and outs of Disney and probably wouldn't have got as many good shots. So, now I can stop worrying about photography!
We also got DF's tux on the weekend. He will be wearing a black tux, with a white tie and vest. All of the groomsmen/bridesmen will be wearing the same tux but with a silver coloured vest and tie. Our dads will be again wearing the same thing, but a darker silver vest and tie. So everything will match well, but you will be able to determine who is who.
I am one of those people that likes to get things done early - I get stressed out if I leave things too late (hence the stress about photography!). So I keep getting these strange looks from vendors when I am there early. I didn't think that the lady at the tux shop was going to fit DF that day! Has anyone else had an experience like this? I seem to keep having them!
But of course, the To Do list is still ever present:
- I have to figure out my own jewellery - to make or to buy?
- Buy my crinoline hoop
- Buy supplies and make fans/invites
- Work on/finalize wording for fans/invites
- Get my BEO and make any adjustments - I know that there is going to be some
- Finish my newsletter! (like now! lol)
- Get sand ceremony vases
- Find a garter
- Finalize my music choices
- Find out who is making a toast
- Figure out my flowers
- Finish my picture "must have" list
So thanks to everyone who has read all of this!

Omg yay! Our weddings are so close! I live in Canada, so I won't be going down for a planning session :( which makes me very sad lol I already had a phone session with my planner and my florist though. Good luck with your session on Monday, they really are fun. I would love to chat with you as well! Where are you having your wedding? I will have to live vicariously through your planning session

I used Cards and Pockets for our wedding invitation.
http://www.cardsandpockets.com/
They have so many great colors, the pocketfolders are already made and everything works together. I ordered the pocketfolders, the mats, the invitations, and the precut enclosures. I also ordered some extra paper in bulk. It looks like you are making your own pcoketfolders and while that is great and I am sure a big cost savings, it made it so much easier to have this already made and to put everything else together. I also loved the quality of the paper.
I also used the bulk paper to make our menu cards (black mat with white on top). I do not have a separate picture of everything but here is a picture of the shadowbox that I made with some wedding stuff when we got home. You can see the invitation and the menu card.

Everything looks amazing. Your dress is gorgeous, definitely fit for a Disney wedding. I think you're off to a great start with the invites, we also made our own and used the bulk paper we purchased through cards&pockets for our menus. Good call on the natural colored sand addition - we did the same! :goodvibes

Thank you for reading! And thank you for the tip for the paper website, I will definitely check it out. And you are right, pre-made pockets would definitely be easier! I also love the shadow box - we are big crafters and my mom makes a ton of shadow boxes, I might have to steal your idea and make a wedding one lol

Thanks for reading! I already had the cricut, so I figured, why not? It took like 5 seconds to make the mickey heads - a lot less than it would for you to draw it or print it and cut it out. I am happy with the quality of it, I don't think that it looks cheap. I believe that a lot of other DISbrides have used it and have also been happy with the results. You can get the stuff on sale, but I agree that it is a bit pricey. Will you use it after the wedding for other projects? There is a ton of stuff you can do with it, so it is worth the money. We use ours mainly for scrapbooking, but I saw an infomertial for it, and there are so many things that you can do that I would never have thought of.

I am back again - it has been a super busy few days!!
So I was doing a lot of looking at other people's PJs and TRs yesterday, and something struck me. Why don't we move our ceremony earlier, and have brunch instead of lunch?
I am a picky eater with food allergies, and trying to find a menu was proving to be horrible (and of course, everyone else has to have their say in what the menu is). But, I absolutely love Disney's breakfasts everywhere that I go, and there are many more options that our families will also enjoy. I talked to DF about it last night, and he agreed that it was a great choice for us (why hadn't we thought of it earlier?)
So I emailed my planner, but then got really excited and just ended up calling her, and she was wonderful. Even though she is really sick :( she is working away, and got all of my times changed and sent me new menus to work from! We got really lucky and all of our locations were free earlier in the day, so I just bumped everything up a little, and voila - brunch!
She also sent me an unofficial BEO, which is kind of useless now that I have changed everything (my own fault) but it still gives me an idea of some stuff.
So I am really happy about this, I no longer have to worry about what I will eat at my own wedding! Now if only I could get future MIL to cooperate with me, everything would be perfect!

I think I might use it for the future. I love scrapbooking and I am in the process of scrapping our past 2 disney trips! I love how you programs came out and I was even thinking about doing my own menu cards. Now that I see some example home made it looks so easy and I can put my own personal touches into it! I also looked into the Disney stuff they have with the Cricuit and it looks awesome for my scrapping!
thanks for your advice!

It will definitely be worth your while if you are a scrapper! I am also in the process of scrapping disney trips (among other things lol). It is definitely easy, and you can personalize it however you want. I have the Mickey and Friends and the Mickey Font cartridges, but I would love to get one of the Princess ones too (one is better than the other lol).

YAY for brunch. I think people in general like brunch food more than lunch food. We did a breakfast, we had no say in the menu :sad2:. Originally I was so excited bc I thought we could have beignets (from POFQ) and strawberries and cream and yummy stuff. It was all shot down. I hope they can do everything you want. It may sound odd but I got my hoop from ebay it was brand new and in great condition, shipped fast and saved a bundle.
Music is the big question of the day for us as well.

Your fan turned out super. What find of stick did you use? That is the only thing I have not purchased yet for my fan. I can't wait to see the final results for the fan's I am suprised non of the stores have started selling them yet since so many people seem to make them.

That is great to hear! I love Disney's brunch food, always have, and breakfast is my favourite meal of the day so it works nicely. It is also good to know that your guests enjoyed the food as well, because that is important. We won't be having turkey sausage for precisely that reason - I would be the only one who might eat it lol Thanks for the comment!

Hi there,
Love all your plans. I think I might have to steal the Cinderella coach idea for some table center pieces. I'm having a roman table for the 15 of us and a few of the coaches on the table with floral would add a nice Disney touch. They would also go with my glass slipper favors.

So I have gotten an estimated BEO, which now my poor planner has to change so it isn't really valid anyway, but I am still waiting on my floral BEO. We need to get this before we can really do anything else with the planning. I don't have that much floral so I am not sure why it is taking as long as it is, but hopefully it comes soon! It is so hard to be patient lol
I am going to do some wedding related shopping tomorrow, yay! I am hoping to get paper for my invitations, which is the biggest thing, and an outfit for my bridal shower. And any other little things that I stumble upon during my journey.
A good friend of mine is planning my shower, and because I don't like surprises she is running some ideas by me to keep me in the loop. So far, everything sounds amazing, I am really excited!
So hopefully tomorrow I will have some new pictures of the new stuff I bought, keep your fingers crossed for me!

So another update!
I got my floral BEO!! It feels like it has been forever, in reality though, I think it has been 3 weeks lol
We are sitting at about $2000 - which is a number that I am pretty happy with. But there will be some changes that are going to alter that number a bit.
My planners were amazing and gave me two different quotes for bouquets and for favours because I wasn't completely decided.
They priced me a calla lily bouquet with 3 colours of lilies and some hidden mickeys for $350 and a round bouquet of lavender and ivory roses with hidden mickeys for $225. I think that I will probably go with the roses - the more I think about it, the more I think that they go with the look I want (and they are cheaper). I might throw a couple of callas in the rose bouquet done, I've seen that done by Disney and it looked beautiful!
I have a floral refresh for $75 for my MK photo shoot. Anybody have experience with this - is it worth the money?
We then have a whole bunch of boutonnieres and corsages for various people - from 10-26 dollars each.
I have a sand ceremony set up on there, but I bought sand already, and am in the process of looking for vases so I will probably take that off. It is $25 on my beo - does this include the vases to keep? The price seems too cheap for that, probably a vase rental?
I also have petals for our staged exit. We have them in a chiffon bag at 3.50 each. This price was based on a number of guests that is higher than what we will actually have so it will go down a little.
Cinderella Coach rental was $55 each - they quoted us for 8, but we are not going to need that many, so again, this price will go down a little. Cinderella coach floral was $50 each, but that will go down too because we will not need 8.
We just used confetti for our pre-reception tables which came to $12. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because we aren't going to be in there for very long.
We chose to have rose petals scattered on the buffet tables - $25
And petals on our guest tables - $12.50 x 8 tables = 100.00
We are going to use the standard table linens (I think) but we will have to add in some napkins, which will add a little bit to the price (1-2$ per guest).
We also purchased the cake knife and server from DFTW, which was $60 and includes a ribbon bow - not a bad deal.
Our favour options were a chocolate favour, and a coach favour box. We decided after that we are going to do a combination of the coaches and the chocolates and give everyone a favour.
All together (including taxes and a $25 delivery fee) our floral total is $2116.13.
So although there will be some changes, I think they will be minimal, and I am really happy with our floral! Yay!

So today is exactly 4 months until our wedding day!! Getting so close, yet so much to do!
I finally got some wedding invitation paper! Yay. I was turning into a crazy person because I couldn't find paper anywhere and I didn't want to order online because I couldn't see the paper in person first. So I bought all that the store had, and ordered some more. This process has been going on for what seems like forever, so it is great that it is finally done. I also bought some of the other stuff for my invites and programs, like crystals and ribbon. One more big thing crossed off of my list!! Now I just have to make all of the invites...

So I have some more photos for you ladies!
Here are a couple of pictures of my wedding paper.

The pictures don't quite capture the colours exactly, but it gives you the idea. (and the 2 pictures look different haha) And the dark purple wasn't exactly the shade I was going for, but I had looked all over (spending hours and hours) to find the right paper, so when I finally found this I couldn't pass it up!
And I also bought my jewellery yesterday! So I have a couple of pictures of it.
The necklace and earrings were NOT something I would have chosen off of the shelf. But I took my dress to the store and tried on nearly everything they had in the store! This set looked the best together and with my dress. There was a set that I absolutely loved on the shelf, but it just didn't go with the dress :( and I also love pearls and thought about them as an option, but they just didn't look right. So without further ado, this is what I ended up buying:

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01824.jpg
And now my tiara. I was determined that I wasn't going to wear a tiara, just a headband or something because I am not wearing a veil. My mom said to me "You are getting married in Disney, you NEED a tiara!" haha In the end, I liked the way this one looked and it doesn't have too much height.

Love the jewelry! It looks lovely.
I love the metallic paper, I wanted metallic but it was WAAAAAY more expensive so I just went with the linen finish.

Thank you! I searched high and low for that metallic paper - it like fell off the face of the earth haha I found that around here it was more expensive, but not ridiculously so. That is too bad that it was that much more for you - but as long as you found something that you liked, the cheaper price is better!

The jewelry and paper are great!! I especially LOVE your tiara! I totally agree with your mom. Besides, it really is the only day you can get away with wearing a tiara once you're over the age of 10, unfortunately... Unless, of course, you're in WDW! The paper really is great, how are you going to put the different colors together?

Thanks so much! I guess I should take advantage of this opportunity lol Tiara it is!! I am using the silver colour as the outer part (like the pocket I guess it is?) and the darker purple for behind the white paper with all of the writing, and the light purple is for some other little things. Once I have one done up well in this paper I will post it! Thanks for asking that question!
I love, love, love your jewelry and tiara. Of course you just read how I decided to go with the tiara too. When else will we ever get to wear them? Your paper is beautiful and I am so impressed on how you can make your own invites.

Hello everyone!
So once again, I am making my planner suffer - so sorry!! I am seriously considering changing my reception location. When my consultant initially pencilled us in, he kid of gave us the locations and I didn't think much of it. I have been thinking more and more lately - especially since joining the DIS! - and I think that I will be unhappy with our current location. As most of you know, we changed our menu to brunch recently - which I am super happy about. Our current location is in the St. Augustine ballroom. Now don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this ballroom, but I feel that it is too dark and 'eveningy' for a brunch reception. Plus the colours don't exactly 'go' with my theme.
So I emailed my planner to see what kind of options I have. We could continue our reception in the pre-reception location - which I like - but there is another event there, so we would have to cut our reception from 3 hours to 2 hours. We aren't having any dancing or anything so this shouldn't be a big deal, but I don't want to feel rushed. The second option is using Narcoossee's. I have looked at some pictures and I am in love with the idea of using this space. We would have to change our musician, but I can live with that. So I have to speak with DF tonight and see how he feels about this change - I am sure he won't care, he usually just likes whatever makes me happy!
If anyone has any experience with Narcoossee's or comments on this switch please feel free to share! I hope that there are no restrictions or things that I am not thinking about right now.
Thanks for reading! I will let you all know how it turns out!

Oh my Gosh I've been going through the same thought process!! :rotfl:
I was given the option of Salon 8 (at the GFCC), and then thought it was to "eveningy" for a brunch reception. Then I asked for Narcoosee's.
The miniumum F&B went up to $1,500.00, but I figured I could order more food or something to fill the budget up... but then... I didn't like the layout. I am having a small recpetion--only 18 people--and they won't move the extra tables away from our reception area at Narcoosee's. I kind of felt like it would look like we had nobody at our reception with all of those empty tables all around!!
Ultimately, I moved back to Salon 8.
Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Your floral BEO sounds like a steal! I don't know why,but the thought of my floral BEO makes me want to pass out. Yours has made me realize that it might not be that bad! :rotfl:
I have no experience with Narcoosee's other than I had dinner their once and it was beautiful. We considered it for our reception, but we wanted dancing and that isn't a possibility.
Good luck with whatever your chose! I'm sure your planner is used to changes, I can't wait to talk to mine and talk about changing everything! :rotfl:

very pretty paper, the jewelry is fab...and I think Narccoossee's is a great location. We had it between that and Citricos (but obviously chose the latter). After seeing Heidi's PJ and pics I think it would look beautiful for a reception site. Very light and airy, open and sunny!

It seems like a lot of DIS brides are going through this right now! If all of the spaces weren't so beautiful it wouldn't be this hard! lol I can see why you would have chosen Salon 8 with 18 people. Our party is a little bigger, so we have no problem meeting the F&B minimum and shouldn't have many empty tables.
LOVE Narcoossee's!!! It's a gorgeous space, and I think it would be perfect for a brunch!
It is beautiful isn't it!

I was really afraid for my floral BEO too, but in the end I was presently surprised. We aren't big flower people, so we don't need a lot, which helps. Glad my BEO put your mind at rest a little :) There really isn't room for dancing, but we aren't going to be having any so that isn't a big deal for us (but I can see why it would be for you!) My planner has definitely been great through all of this, and I promised her no more big changes lol

Thanks for posting this! I have actually been looking at Heidi's TR and it was a big help! She doesn't seem like someone who would mind you posting so hopefully it is alright! Thanks Heidi! That would be quite a trek from your ceremony site so I see why you didn't choose it!

Thanks for reading! Can I ask what made you decide on Citricos? I am just curious because I don't really know much about that location. Heidi's pj/tr really does do the site well doesn't it! The light, airy, open feel is what we are going for, so I think this site will work well for us!

So I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who has been following me through all of this!
I e-mailed my planner yesterday, and the final decision on the reception location is.....
Narcoossee's!!
I told her that I promised that this would be the last big change I made :rotfl: so I am not allowed any more! I love the Whitehall Room, but if we stayed there for our reception, we would have to cut it back to 2 hours. This is what helped make the decision to use Narcoossee's. I love both of the spaces and they both have ups and downs but I didn't want to feel rushed to end our reception, and this had a lot of weight in the decision making.
Also a big thank you to Heidi (tiggerificheidi) who's PJ/TR really helped me to see what the space would look like at a reception!
One downfall is that we won't be able to have a pianist now that we are in a non convention space. So I am not sure what to do. I am hoping that we can use our iPod there, and use the money from the instrumentalist for something else, because I am not really crazy about any of the others at the moment.
Things are starting to fall into place now!!

A couple other teeny tiny updates.
Yesterday I spent some quality time with my cricut and got all of my program fan Mickey's cut out. 1 less thing to do! I have a few more days off coming up so I will hopefully getting a lot done!!
We decided to do a Disney honeymoon registry. DF and I already have a house and so we don't need a lot of the typical registry stuff. But I was told that people need a registry lol so we decided to do a honeymoon one. Not sure if people will really use it, but it is an option. Anyways, I think that I registered us maybe 4 or 5 days ago and I got the gift card Fed Ex'd to me yesterday! Wow that was fast! It is so cute and comes in such a nice little envelope that I don't even care if nobody uses it, I just like that I have one :rotfl: *Note: sorry if any of this sounds at all in bad taste - registries and etiquette are such a sticky subject!

I just wanted to post again because this is the 100th post on my PJ!! Thanks to everyone who has read and or commented thus far!!
To make this post somewhat useful I will also post a list of to do's
- Finish Newsletter! Ugh, I keep changing my mind and changing it and it is not getting done, and now I only have a few months left!
- Finish Invitations (still waiting on some paper to come in to do this) and get them sent out!
- Finish program fans
- Work on music list!! I am having a really hard time with this
- Buy my hoop crinoline
- Find sand ceremony jars
- Buy attendants' gifts
- I am having another meeting with my planner in about a week so I can go over all of our changes with her
- Set another floral meeting time - we have things to change from our initial BEO and from our location change
- A couple of things here and there for our pre-wedding parties
So I don't have THAT much left to do, but I also don't have much time to get them done! Fingers Crossed!

Thanks for your support! I am super happy about Narcoossee's and I think we should have no problems with the honeymoon registry! I have no idea where to even begin with music lol I like a ton of different types of music, as do a lot of my family members. This helps because there is a lot to choose from, but it hinders because there is a lot to choose from :rotfl: I might ask for some input from family members on songs they would like to hear, and maybe play some songs usually played at weddings? I also think that we need to have a little disney incorporated! and I am most definitely open for any suggestions! Thanks for the help!

So this past weekend was a long weekend for us in Canada. I had a really nice weekend, got to spend a bunch of quality time with DF :) Yesterday we took a long bike ride along the canal, and then went to my aunt and uncles for a barbecue. This was the first hot day this year that I was outside so I got a ton of sun!! Needless to say, I spent today inside lol
I had myself a Disney movie marathon while completing wedding projects! I have been in super Disney mode lately lol
I managed to get the circle 'clasps' all done for our invitations, which took way longer than I thought it would. And I started making the program fans, and because they are circular they are really hard to measure - so that is taking longer than I expected as well!! But overall, it was a pretty productive day! Just thought that I would share with people whom I know will appreciate it!
I hope everyone had a good weekend!

So I am having a little trouble with wording and I figure there is no better place than here to get advice!
I was working on my ceremony programs today, and I am just doing the Mickey Head Fans so I don't have a whole lot of space… here is what I have
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krysten and Michael (Cinderella Font)
Officiant - Reverend Jack Day
Man of Honour - Name
Bridesman - Name
Flower Girl - Name
Best Man - Name
Groomsman - Name
Groomsman - Name
Groomsman - Name
Thank you for sharing our magical day! (Cinderella Font)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I am relatively happy with this, but I am not sure how exactly I want to order the names. It is kind of hard because we have all males and a sort of uneven number of attendants. Should I worry about having them in the order of how they walk down the aisle? I don't want anyone to feel like they are unimportant or something because of the order.
I also worked on my invitations today, and this is what I have…
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The magic is as wide as a smile and as narrow as a wink, loud as
laughter and quiet as a tear, tall as a tale and deep as emotion.
It is the magic that begins the happily ever after.
You are invited to be a part of the magic that begins
happily ever after for
Krysten Middle Name Last
And
Michael Middle Last
Thursday, the ninth of September
At ten o’clock in the morning.
Disney’s Wedding Pavilion
Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Reception to follow at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is the line saying "you are invited to…" that I am not really happy with. Any suggestions about how I could word this better? And punctuation is also annoying me. I am not sure where to put what as far as wedding invites go, and in my academic writing, I am nuts about punctuation so it bothers me here too :rotfl: Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reading ladies (and gents if you are there!)

Hey! I think everything sounds absolutely beautiful!! I think putting the names in the order in which they walk down the aisle is a good idea. Nobody can complain that way. My suggestion for the wording you are unhappy with would be something a bit simpler, like, "Krysten Name Name and Michael Name Name invite you to share in the magic that will begin their own happily after" and then the location.
Hope that helps! And I've thought a little about songs too... if you like the Beatles (they are my absolute favorite!) In My Life is a perfect song. :goodvibes

Hi!! Thanks for coming to check out my pj! Things are definitely moving along really quickly now! I have enjoyed your pj as well - and I love that picture of you that is your avatar (?) with you by the coach!
Thanks! That was a picture of me at Mickey's Not So Scary two years ago. I bought myself an elaborate Cinderella dress because I thought I was never going to get married. :rotfl: Guess I was wrong!
So I am having a little trouble with wording and I figure there is no better place than here to get advice!
I was working on my ceremony programs today, and I am just doing the Mickey Head Fans so I don't have a whole lot of space… here is what I have
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krysten and Michael (Cinderella Font)
Officiant - Reverend Jack Day
Man of Honour - Name
Bridesman - Name
Flower Girl - Name
Best Man - Name
Groomsman - Name
Groomsman - Name
Groomsman - Name
Thank you for sharing our magical day! (Cinderella Font)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I am relatively happy with this, but I am not sure how exactly I want to order the names. It is kind of hard because we have all males and a sort of uneven number of attendants. Should I worry about having them in the order of how they walk down the aisle? I don't want anyone to feel like they are unimportant or something because of the order.
I also worked on my invitations today, and this is what I have…
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The magic is as wide as a smile and as narrow as a wink, loud as
laughter and quiet as a tear, tall as a tale and deep as emotion.
It is the magic that begins the happily ever after.
You are invited to be a part of the magic that begins
happily ever after for
Krysten Middle Name Last
And
Michael Middle Last
Thursday, the ninth of September
At ten o’clock in the morning.
Disney’s Wedding Pavilion
Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Reception to follow at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is the line saying "you are invited to…" that I am not really happy with. Any suggestions about how I could word this better? And punctuation is also annoying me. I am not sure where to put what as far as wedding invites go, and in my academic writing, I am nuts about punctuation so it bothers me here too :rotfl: Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reading ladies (and gents if you are there!)
I think putting the names in the order of when they are coming down the aisle makes the most sense. This way there is a logic that can't hurt anyone's feelings and makes it easier for your guests to identify your attendants.
I love your wording for the invites... I maybe stealing some of it! :)

Another suggestion is just to say "please join the magic"......I know what you mean about the wording, but it is hard to think of a replacement!

Thanks so much! I feel the same way about the aisle thing so I think that is what I will do! Good tip about the wording, I like it - much simpler!
We both love the Beatles, so that is a great song suggestion. Thank you so much for reading and responding!
Any time!! :)

I like PP's idea of "please join the magic" - perfect for Disney!
I agree too about using the same order that they are walking down the aisle in. That way everything is the same :goodvibes

It is a great picture, and I guess you were wrong about never getting married lol Are you going to be doing the MNSSHP this year when you are there? We are going on the 14th, and it is going to be our first one so I am super excited! … Thanks for your input about my wording, and steal away!!

I knew I did the right thing asking the DIS for help! I showed my mom and grandma yesterday and they thought it was fine as is, so whatever I do will be all right with our guests. And the store I bought my paper from called me yesterday and told me that the rest of my invite paper came in, yay! So I will have lots of work to do now! Thanks again for reading everyone!

Sorry I'm late to the party! I wanted to add my two cents that I think that a few Calla Lilies in with the roses will give it a really good dimension. I expected the orchids to do that in mine, but they were too small, so it honestly looked like a bunch of same-shaped roses (even though it wasn't...garden roses, gardenias, orchids and normal roses). I think the callas will add quite a bit to the overall look. The minis would probably fit in best, but I'd ask your floral coordinator.
So glad to see another Narcoossee's reception! Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Oh one edit: the refresh depends on when you do the photo shoot. Ours was nice because they also replaced DH's bout, which wouldn't have made it. But, I kept my bouquet from our Escape wedding in the fridge all weekend, and it was still fine on Monday when I turned it in to be preserved!

UGH!
As you know, I have changed my location from the GF ballroom to Narcoossee's. Now, I am super happy with all of this, but I was in contact with my floral planner today who thinks that our centrepieces should be changed because they will look too big on the tables :( I had everything all planned out, I knew the cost and now we have to change centrepieces and maybe linens. And I have to choose the tables that we want to use, and I have no idea how to do this and what tables I can and cannot move. He sent me some centrepiece alternatives, one of which I really like, but now I have no idea on pricing anymore. Eek!
Just a note, I don't blame anyone for this, I definitely respect what my floral planner says because he has experience and knows the space really well, I just hate not knowing! I think that we may keep 1 carriage centrepiece for the table for DF and I so that there is at least 1 because I love them so much!
Here is the picture that my planner sent me of one of his suggestions, that I really like. It goes well with our colours and theme, I just have no idea on pricing.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/triplesilvergobletswithroses.jpg
I would appreciate any opinions on these centrepieces. If anyone has experience with pricing for these, please let me know :). If you guys have suggestions for other centrepieces, those would also be appreciated. I feel so lost lol all because of centrepieces :rotfl:
Thanks for reading!

I like the bouquet idea. I've seen it where they just do 4 callas in the rose bouquet and it just adds a little extra interest.
I think Narcoosee's is such a beautiful space and your reception will be gorgeous! It really does stink to have to change some of your ideas, but they do really know the spaces best and you can definitely use the carriage for your table, or maybe on the place card table if you're doing that.
I really like the centerpieces, I think they are elegant and pretty. I really like the greenery on them. ]

I'm not sure the carriage centerpieces wouldn't fit. It is true that there is less room in the middle on the individual tables than a conference room round, but check out my TR to see the size of our tables. We had two four-tops pushed together to make 8-top tables.
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=32982533&postcount=451
This is my diagram (horrible, though it may be) of how we had our tables laid out. It's not to scale, but I think you get the idea of what we did from looking at the pics and this diagram. I had two 4-tops pushed together and arrayed on the axis of the lower level.

I love the idea of Narcoossee's for the reception. It's one of my favorite places to eat. All the windows and being right on the water makes it so romantic and pretty. I'm sorry you'll have to change a few things but I'm sure it will work out perfect for you.:cutie:

Thank you! I have seen a couple of bouquets with the callas and they really do give it a little something extra, I am going to try and find a few pictures to send to my planner. Thank you so much for the diagram!! I cannot even explain how much I appreciate you posting that for me. I was completely clueless about what options I had for moving tables, and your diagram looks exactly like what I want - which means they can do it for me! I think we have less guests than you but it will still work out. And this way, I should be able to keep the original centrepieces. I am so glad to have you around :) I know nothing about this kind of stuff so it really helps to have someone who had their wedding there and can help. :pixiedust: Thanks again!

Thank you for the kind words. I do really love the look of Narcoossee's, and all of the windows! But thanks to Heidi, I might not have to change all that much! I have never actually eaten there myself, so it is great to hear that you enjoyed it!

One more tip: I didn't know how many tables were in there, so I didn't give direction as to what to do with the extra tables. For us, since we had so many guests, they just used the additional tables for the cake, for the favors, for the pre-reception, and for the guest book, so it was okay. If you'll have a lot left over, I'd give direction as to where you want them placed. If you're not using the upper level, I'd recommend that or place them furthest from the entrance (the left side of the arch in the picture), so they're out of the way. But, talk to your planner. They'll be able to tell you how many tables you have to work with.
Edit: oh, and I might have put only 6 people at my double 4-tops. The two on each end looked a little crowded.

I am glad that you like the space! I am hearing so many good things about it. It is too bad that it would look empty with your number of guests, but it is good that your planner told you that in advance. Thank you with being impressed lol I have always been quite detail oriented so it just comes naturally

So I am just sitting here relaxing before I have to go to work, and I thought that I would post my ADR's. I am pretty sure that this is how they will stay.
September 5th - Arrival day - no ADR's
September 6th - Illuminations Grand Gathering at Epcot
September 7th - Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)
September 8th - 50's Prime Time Cafe (dinner)
September 9th - Wedding!! - no ADR's
September 10th - CRT for Breakfast and Crystal Palace for dinner (farewell dinner)
September 11th - O'Hana's (breakfast)
September 12th - Le Cellier (dinner)
September 13th - Cape May Cafe (breakfast)
September 14th - Tony's Town Square (lunch) then MNSSHP!
September 15th - Akershus (breakfast)
September 16th - Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)
September 17th - 1900 Park Fare (breakfast) - leaving day
I will be trying a bunch of these for the first time - Whispering Canyon, 50's Prime Time, Le Cellier, Tony's Town Square, Akershus, 1900 Park Fare - so I am excited! I usually stick with the same places because I have some food issues lol (e.g., I eat hardly any meat, and have some allergies) but we are branching out a little this time. I love breakfast so I tried to get in as many of those as I could. I really wanted to try a couple of other places, like the California Grill, but I can always do that on my next trip (because there will be many more trips lol)

I have been working a ton lately, trying desperately to get some stuff done! As of yesterday the things that I have recently gotten done are:
- Made 18 invitations
- Picked up the rest of the invitation paper that I ordered
- Bought some envelopes for the invitations
- Got our sand ceremony jars (for cheaper than the cost to rent from Disney)
- Made some more plans for pre-wedding parties
Today I don't work until later on, so I am going to try and get some stuff done while I am home. I also have another phone meeting with my planner today, so I will update on that later as well. Most of our plans should be in place then!

So I had my second phone meeting with my planner this afternoon. We needed to just go over some things since we made a couple of big changes. It was a relatively quick and smooth meeting, but there are still things that need to be done. My planner is going to look into what Narcoossee's will and will not let us do with the tables. I have to decide on floral (centrepieces) and music (for all parts of the wedding). My planner thinks that the coach centrepieces will still be too big even if we move the tables to something like what Heidi had. So I think that we will keep 1 coach centrepiece for our place card table or guest book table, and then use the vases for our guest tables.
Now it is kind of a waiting game for me as far as Disney stuff goes, until I hear back about the tables. It is bothering me not knowing, but I have no choice but to wait a little longer! I have a ton of work to do on invitations to keep me busy until then.

Things sound like they are really coming together. I like the idea of just using one coach for your guest book table. We used glass vases with red floating petals and a white floating candles on our tables and just used the coach on the table that held our guest book and some photos. I think it had more of an impact just using one.
Our centerpieces:

Table that held our guestbook, some photos and Cinderella and Prince Charming and Fairy Godmother statues that we brought down with us. It looked great right infront of the mirror.

Karen thinks that the coach centrepieces will still be too big even if we move the tables to something like what Heidi had.
I think your plan sounds great! I'm glad you are able to at least use the coach centerpiece somewhere - sometimes less is more, too! I think it will look gorgeous - especially in Narcoossee's :goodvibes
I hate waiting games too!

Hi Linda! I do recall seeing that picture of the coach at your wedding before. I think that it works really well for you, so I am happy with our choice to do that. Thank you for sharing your photos! They are beautiful!

So I have a couple of small things to post today.
First, I bought my crinoline today. One more thing crossed off of my list. I paid a little more than I wanted too, and it wasn't the exact style I had wanted, but the woman who helped me out was fantastic and I am happy with my choice.
Second, I have been thinking a lot about themes lately. I never really had a theme. I just knew that things were going to be purple, and we had cinderella's castle and coaches all over the place. However, the more I think about it, the more I would like a theme, but it seems a tad late to start a theme now. I really love the Victorian era, and we are getting married at a Victorian style place (GF) so I would like to perhaps incorporate this, but I don't really know how or whether I should. I am really hoping that my day looks beautiful and everything flows really well together, but I am not quite sure if it will. So I appreciate any suggestions about whether I should attempt a theme, if I really need one, or what kinds of things I could do to incorporate one. Thanks for your help!

I totally understand about the need/want for a theme. When I started planning on here (I don't think you were around for that) I had bounced around between so many different elaborate themes, since I really wanted an idea to work around. However, after totally abandoning a theme, I have to say it is a lot easier not trying to stick to one, and colour is easier to work with. I guess it really depends how much work you need to put into maintaining a theme (especially Victorian, since like you said, you already sort of have it).
Sorry if I confused you more....that was just my experience :goodvibes

Hi everyone!
I have been doing a lot of waiting lately, but I have a couple of updates. I am currently waiting to find out about what Narcoossee's will let us do with the tables, once I find this out, we will make our decision on centrepieces, but I think we will most likely stay with the new floral centrepieces.
I am also waiting to find out about our MK session date. It was originally scheduled for the day after our wedding, but my planner informed us that there would be trusses up that day so we would have to move it. But the next available day is the 12th, and the tux will have left for Canada by then (my dad is taking it home). So I have asked my planner if the day of our wedding would be available with no trusses. We will then decide what we want to do. I originally didn't want us to see each other before the wedding, but I don't want our MK pictures with trusses so this might be our only option. And on the plus side, it would mean that we wouldn't need a floral refresh or have hair and makeup done twice! Night of Joy this year falls on the 10th and 11th, so I am not quite sure how early they start setting up, but I hope we can have a day with no trusses!
In other news lol I received these in the mail the other day:
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01831.jpg
My wonderful floral planner sent this to me so I could see what the linens looked like in the flesh.
Here are some closer pictures:http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01835.jpg
I liked these for overlays, but we might just stick to house linens

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01839.jpg
This one is DF's favourite for the napkins: http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01834.jpg
I like the one that DF picked, but I really want to make sure that it matches. Like I had mentioned a few posts ago with the theme, I am really worried about things not matching. So any opinions you guys have on the colours and styles of linens are welcome!! The flowers in the centrepieces are going to be the same colour that is in the pictures if that helps.
Oh and one other thing, we received a gift on our honeymoon registry with a beautiful note from a family friend. I probably shouldn't have peeked, but I wanted to make sure that it was working because I heard so many things about it not working. So I guess it is working, yay!

I think the eggplant is really nice. Do you have a swatch of the colors you're using? We did that when we picked out our linens and it made it really easy to find the right shade for the napkins.

Thanks for the tip! I have been meaning to put a bunch of stuff together, but haven't yet gotten around to it.
We aren't having a whole lot of decor, so I think that as long as the napkins match the table linen (which will be white) and the flowers, we should be okay.

whew finally caught up!!! You've had some great updates since I left for my wedding. First, CONGRATS on the double digit mark!!! Time will seriously fly by now...it did for me!
I really do like the new centerpieces that you posted. The 3 vases look really nice together! Your ADRs also look fantastic. We ate at 50s Prime Time for the first time when we were there and it was SO cool. The whole place has this amazing 50s home theme, it was awesome. And the food was great, too! I totally understand what you mean by wanting a theme, though. We initially didn't have one either...but then I sort of made the polka dot pattern a theme, which was really easy to do!! Patterns/colors can be their own theme, so if you have trouble with the Victorian one, you can always just make sure your colors are in every aspect of your day. :thumbsup2 With that, your color swatches are gorgeous...I love love love the purple :cutie:

Thanks for the great comment Wendy! It must seem like a lot goes on around here when you leave for your wedding and are so incredibly busy! I have heard so many great things about the 50's Prime Time so I am sure that we will love it, but it is always great to hear more positive things. Reading about your experience at Citricos is making me want to eat there as well - but I can only try a few new restaurants each trip lol so that one will have to wait. I really liked what I have seen in your pj/tr with your colour theme so I have hope that we can make it work! Thanks again for reading!:goodvibes

So I have a few updates which I will get to soon, but I need to ask a question/vent first lol
I have been busting my bum trying to get these invitations all made, and slowly but surely I am getting there. The actual construction of the invites is a breeze. The problem that I am facing is once again with wording. I think that I really read way too much into things, and to be honest I am not relatives with any Emily Post's or Martha Stewart's so nobody will really care what I write, but alas I still worry.
I have to send my invites out in groups. I have a group that is invited to Disney as well as our home reception, I have a group that is invited to Disney (but not coming) and are invited to the home reception, and I have a group that is only invited to the home reception. So I have done up the wording for those who are coming to Disney - you guys helped me out, and it works well. I think that I have the wording for the home reception only group - I basically used what I had for the Disney wedding but changed it to "celebrate the marriage of" and the location. So that is okay.
But now I am trying to write up response cards and info for the home reception for people who are invited to Disney as well and it is proving to be quite difficult. We are not doing an inner envelope - too much time and money - so we are just going to have people phone us with their RSVP. I am aware that this is probably bad etiquette, but nobody is going to care, and it just is easier. I also want to make sure that it is clear on the response card who is invited - because we have already had people try to invite people to Disney and I am not having any of that. So in a nutshell, I just don't know how to word my response card.
So if you have any suggestions, thank you so much, if not, thank you for reading! I am sure that I will get it all sorted out, but I am doing it all on my own, and I just am getting really frustrated with it :headache:
…
I feel better already just after typing that :rotfl:

RSVP's are the worst! And once you send out the invitations it's a pain getting them back.
How about saying "we've reserved ___ seats in your honor", that way people know who is invited and hopefully won't try to add anyone that is not invited to the wedding.

Thanks so much for the support and input! I knew that people on here would understand. I said to my mom earlier, "this is why people pay others to do this for them" :rotfl: but I can't complain because it was my own bright idea to do it all myself.

you're welcome! :goodvibes It is stressful to make the invites, I definitely didn't enjoy it much while I was doing it, especially since I waited too long so I was just rushing to get them out. Okay, so it's time for some updates!!
We have officially changed our MK shoot to be on the day of our wedding. Because of Night of Joy we had to change the date, and if we changed it to a later date, DF's tux would be back in Canada, so we had to move it to our wedding day. I was a little uncertain about it at first - I didn't want us to see each other, but I am happy with it now. It will save us some money, and I think that it will be a nice, romantic moment that the 2 of us can share on our wedding day. I will make sure that someone is around to get some "first look" pictures and it will be great!
I have emailed my floral planner, and we are going to use the eggplant colour for our napkins! It seems like everyone loves this colour! I put the sample next to the different papers we are using and a picture of our flowers and it looks like it is going to work really well. I asked my planner his opinions on our choice, just to make sure, but I think it is going to be great!
My bridal shower is a week from today! I do not like surprises, and because schedules are so crazy I am aware of the shower and when it will be. I am quite excited to have a fun night with a bunch of great women - some of whom I haven't seen in a while. We are going to get together and have some fruit & veggies as well as cookies and brownies and pastries - yummy! I will post some pictures next week!
I am still plugging away at the invites - really need to get those out ASAP. But I have the weekend off, so hopefully I will get them all done then! I will post some pictures of them soon!
One more thing… I am getting sooo excited about going to Disney! It seems like it has been forever since I was last there (in reality it will be 3 years - which is still way too long). ::MickeyMo::MinnieMo

I loved having my pictures the morning before the ceremony. It saves so much time on your other vacation days, and to me, it really set the mood for what was about to come. I loved getting to know the photographers and being almost alone with DH before the ceremony. Yes, you have to give up not seeing each other until the ceremony (which most people want) but you get other great benefits in exchange!
That is exciting that your shower is soon! Oh, how I wish I could relive it all!

So this weekend was an extremely busy one for me! I swore that I would never let the wedding be stressful because I would stay on top of everything, but I had a little stress this weekend just thinking about everything I had to do. We were mainly doing stuff for pre-wedding parties, and getting ready for the wedding, but there was wedding stuff too.
So onto the updates! I bought my outfit for the shower today. I had a gift card to use, but it was only enough to cover the taxes haha I really like the outfit though so I am happy :) It is a sleeveless satin top with a ruffle in the front, and a pair of white capri pants. Here are a couple of pictures:

Because of the lighting in that room the shirt looks kind of blue, but it is actually purple - to go with all of the wedding colours lol :)
We also paid off my wedding band today! So I now have it in my possession, yay! It is still big, even though they took down the size before I ordered it, but I will take it back to get sized a little closer to the wedding - they are great and can do it on the same day you bring it in, right on the premises. So here are a couple pictures of the band. It is not what I would have originally chosen to go with my engagement ring, but when I tried it on, I loved it!

We also bought some things for pre-wedding parties. I bought us some new sandals for the trip - I love shoes and DF has hardly any, so buying new pairs was a good idea lol
The to do list is still long, and this week I won't get much accomplished. I will probably post an updated list soon! I am off from work tomorrow, but I will be spending most of my day baking with my grandma to help out with the shower - not sure if I am "supposed" to do, but I love baking with my grandma  And then I have to work the next few days after that, and then the shower is Friday!! hey just catching up. I really like the dark purple napkins. they are very elegant. I did notice you said you were worried about thinking matching. Word of advice, do not stress over this too much. This was my big stresser for like 2 weeks before the wedding and seriously I should have just chilled. Things will NEVER match perfectly. just won't happen. We ended up changing this because of matching issues and I am very happy we did because it made a HUGE difference. and i'm glad things didn't match perfectly and I had to change them. I would say that as long as things are closeish. don't worry about it because chances are you will be the only one who knows not everything is exact.
Your outfit for the shower is really cute! and I love your band is so pretty and delicate.

Thanks for stopping by - you must be a busy lady right now!! Thank you for the advice, I have relaxed a little now lol I think I am just worried about the whole look "working" - exact matches are definitely hard to find!
Sorry that the invites have given you some stress and also the issues on people inviting other people - what are they thinking. :confused3
Your wedding shower outfit is lovely the ruffle top is so pretty.
I don't think that I will ever know what people were thinking - I am not looking forward to what happens when they find out that those people are not attending the wedding
Thanks for all of the nice comments about my shower outfit everyone! I am happy with it and I think the shower is going to be a great night!:goodvibes

I really loved the carriage idea, but I do agree on going smaller. They are still beautiful. I'm sure you have already picked your floral by now but I just wanted to say that both ideas are amazing. Good luck with all your wedding plans and a happily ever after! I look forward to seeing more posts!!

Thank you decdisneybride2011. I am actually still waiting on both of my planners to get back to me, but we are going to use the floral centrepieces - I trust the opinions of people who have worked in these spaces and with these centrepieces before.

Ugh no I haven't sent them out yet :headache: I have been trying to get them done and sent out, but I haven't had much luck. I am not too worried though because everyone that is coming to Disney is close family and has their trip already booked, so we really just need to get them out for our home reception which is going to be the beginning of October. So hopefully I will get them out reallllllllly soon haha I have my bridal shower tomorrow, and then the weekend off, so hopefully I will get lots done. Keep your fingers crossed for me! How are things coming for you? Is it just the invites you feel you are behind on?

Oh no, it is not good to feel behind on everything :( You can talk to me any time if you need to :) We are having a shower because we are having a home wedding as well, with about 150 people. I am making my own invites, I will post some pictures real soon! I was a little unsure of how to do it at first, but I looked at a ton of inspiration pictures to get a style that I would like, and then I made a few samples to see how I liked them, which ones worked best etc. theknot.com has some great pictures for invites, as do bridal magazines, and of course the DIS! I had to look high and low for paper, but it all depends on what kind you are looking for. I am a scrapper as well, so a lot of this stuff came sort of natural to me. But if you have any questions I would be glad to help. Thank you for the well wishes, and I wish you the same!:goodvibes

I think that this is the longest I have ever gone without posting on my pj :rotfl: So much stuff has been going on lately I just haven't had time to be on the computer.
I had my bridal shower last Friday, and it was amazing. I think that everyone had a nice time, we had great food, and it was nice to see everyone together in one place. We got a ton of great things for our house and stuff for our honeymoon which was really nice. My aunt even made me a mouse ear veil to wear while opening my presents - it was so thoughtful of her and I loved it! I don't have pictures yet because I don't have any on my own camera, so I am relying on others, but I have been bugging my brother to send them to me so hopefully I will have them soon!
The night of my bridal shower, I got another piece of wonderful news. My closest friend, who threw me the shower and has been with me through all of the ups and downs of this wedding, told me that she is most likely going to be coming to the wedding! I invited her, but didn't really think that she would come, but she told me that her and her husband have been talking about it and one way or another she is going to get there! I am so happy that she is going to be sharing in our special day. I am going to ask her to stand up with me at the wedding as well, so I guess I will end up having a bridesmaid!
I have been working a ton getting my thank you cards done from the shower, and getting invites and things ready for our home reception, as well as getting things together for another pre-wedding event we have planned.
The other day, I picked up the gifts that I bought for my brothers for them being my attendants. We are a very sports oriented family, and my brothers both play a lot of sports, so this had some weight in the gift that I chose. I wanted something that they could use if they wanted to, but is also something special from my wedding. So, I bought them referee's whistles. I saw them in a shop one day and thought that it was a perfect idea for them. I had them engraved with their names and the date of the wedding. So here are a few pictures.

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC03410.jpg
I am really happy with how they turned out, and if you know my brothers, you know that these suit them well. I don't have any pictures of the gifts that DF bought for his attendants, but they are really nice gift boxes with a pen, swiss army knife, key ring, and a watch. While they all have the same items in them, they are all different. He did a great job picking the gifts - and we spent the same amount on everyone, which makes me happy. I still have to get a gift for my friend, and I have a few ideas, but nothing is set in stone. I want to get her something really special - she has helped me a ton already, and threw me a great shower so she deserves it.
In Disney news, I am still waiting to hear back from my planner and my floral planner. I still haven't heard what Narcoossee's will let us do with the tables, and I sent some changes to my floral planner and requested a new BEO - but he might not send it to me until we hear from Narcoossee's so we know what we will be doing with the centrepieces.
So I think that is all that I have to update for now, until I get some shower pictures!

Hi everyone!
So I finally have some pictures from my bridal shower to share with you guys! I don't have all of them, but for pj purposes I have plenty lol
On the Monday before my bridal shower, I helped my grandma bake some sugar cookies for the shower. I really like baking with my grandma so this was a great opportunity for us to do that together. We had bought cookie cutters in the shape of Mickey and Minnie heads a little while before the shower, so we decided to use them for the shower! We tend to go a little crazy when decorating our cookies and grandma decided that the shower was no exception. We worked with toothpicks and were in the kitchen baking and decorating for 7 hours! Here are some pictures from that day.

And after all of our efforts, this is how the cookies turned out!

The day of the bridal shower was crazy to say the least! I was up at 5:15am (which is not that much of a stretch for me - I am usually up by 6 - but still early) because I knew I had a bunch of things to do. I went to my moms house, fairly early in the morning to get things started. My mom owns a daycare in her home, so she was home all day, and that is where all of the action was. One thing I had to do was sew lol We had bought 2 flower girl dresses because we asked 2 girls to be in the wedding, however the 1 cannot make it to Florida to be in the wedding. So we decided to let her wear her flower girl dress to the shower so she still gets to wear it and feel important. She is tall and thin, and there weren't many sizes when we bought the dress so it was quite big. I spent at least an hour that day sewing to dress to try and make it fit her so that she could wear it. I honestly don't even remember everything else that I did that day. Just helped to put all of the food on trays, I had to pick up some things from MIL's house (because she was working and nobody else could do it), I had to meet my bridesmaid at work (we work at the same place), little things like that.
Because I have only 1 bridesmaid, I had to help a little to get things ready. Bad etiquette or not, I had to help at least a little lol I helped my grandma load all of the food into her van to take to the church, then I helped her unload once we got there, and I helped her get out and set up the tables. After that I left, so I didn't really see any of the actual decorating, I was just some extra muscle power.
After unloading everything, I got back home at around 4 o'clock. I then had to shower, pluck my eyebrows :rotfl:, do my hair and makeup, get dressed, and drive to the other side of town by 7pm. I figured I had lots of time - 3 hours is usually way more than I need. Somehow I ended up getting really shy on time and left a little later than I had planned - oops! I then got stuck behind someone going 20 km under the speed limit the entire way to the church :headache: But in the end, I did make it there pretty much on time.
Now onto some pictures! Like I said, my mom owns a daycare, and all of the girls think of me as a big sister. It is amazing how close you can get to these kids. And they were all so excited, wanting to come to my "wedding" so my mom said that they could come, but there was no pressure on the parents if they didn't want to. Here are a couple of pictures of my "princesses". I would love to show you their beautiful little faces, but I decided to block them out for privacy reasons.
These are pictures of them before they left and on their way.

I bought all of my princesses a crown and a wand for the shower, and they loved them! Here are some pictures of that:

This is one of me and my brother, who is my bridesman. He was pretty bored, and didn't really want to go to a girl party, but he loves me so he came lol
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC_0140.jpg
I was dreading the gift opening for a while. I don't know why, but opening gifts in front of people has always bothered me. I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that I appreciated their gift and their attendance at the shower. Thankfully, I had my "princesses" to help me with the gift opening. They were so good and so cute. They all sat in a line in front of me, and waited their turn in helping me open gifts. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC_0145-1.jpg

I am sure that (as DISers) you already did, but everyone please note the Minnie ear veil that I am wearing. My aunt made it for me, and I was so surprised when she showed it to me!
I have one final picture now. My bridesmaid had a cake made for me. Our boss' wife makes cakes and she made this beautiful creation just for me!
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC_0117-1.jpg
I love love loved this cake! It was beautiful and so delicious! She made it marble cake with regular vanilla frosting, and the icing was white, purple (it looks kind of blue in the picture) and yellow.
The shower was over so quickly! It is really true what all of you ladies say! I wish that I would have taken more pictures with me and people that came to the shower, but it was just over in a flash!
My bridesmaid and I went out and had a couple of drinks afterwards (a few other friends were supposed to come too but couldn't make it).
All in all, it was a great night. I had a really great time, and got to see some people that I haven't seen in a while. Before I know it, I will be saying that my wedding was over too quickly!

My Grandma and I are really close (You both totally remind me of us decorating cookies) So when I was picking the reader it reallly was an easy decision. She's been a huge supporter of Alex all along so Alex loves her too. She's made me read her the reading like a gazillion times lol because she's like "how long is it" and never believes me when i tell her its just a paragraph. It's going to mean so much though, I can't wait.

I posted this on the main boards, but I am going to post here as well, in hopes of getting some answers.
Lately, for whatever reason, I have really been wanting to add a desert party to our wedding. We have zero budget for one - my mom is paying for the majority of the wedding with DF and I paying for as much as we can - but I really want to find a way to fit one in.
I was thinking about maybe taking a couple of items out of our brunch buffet (probably the lunch items) and using the money that we would save from there towards a desert party. The buffet already has so much food so I don't think that anyone would miss a few things if we took them out.
I would like to have the desert party at Sago Cay, which I believe only has a 75$ set up fee and a f&b minimum of 500$. We should have no problem keeping the 1500$ minimum at Narcoossee's so that won't be a problem. And I am not at all concerned with decor. I am not even having much at the wedding itself. The reason I want to have the desert party is that our wedding ends so early and I would like to have a nice, private fireworks viewing to spend some more time with our guests.
So any opinions on this are appreciated!
Lots has been happening lately so I will be putting up lots of updates. I will be posting some pictures of how my invitations finally came out, some other decisions that I still have to make, what things are still on my to do list, etc.

My mom gave me the idea of going to see my hairstylist here at home, getting her to do a trial run for my wedding day hair, and taking some pictures to show Beaute Speciale because I won't be able to have a trial with them.
My stylist said that she will cut and dye my hair one day before I leave for the wedding and she said that if I booked a Friday afternoon appointment, she would keep me the whole afternoon and try different styles to find one for me for the wedding! She is so great.
So I have been looking online to try and find some pictures of hairstyles that I like. One site was recommended on here, I think by shippedtosea (thank you!) and I found some great stuff. I am going to post a couple of inspiration pictures and see what you all think!
My hair is very dark brown, thick, straight, and is passed shoulder length.
For a reminder, this is what my dress looks like:

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/Screenshot2010-04-22at11746PM.png
And this is my tiara:
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/DSC01825.jpg
And here are a couple of pictures of what I am thinking about doing for my hair.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/hairdown2.jpg
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/HairDown.png
I seem to gravitate towards this style in general (see above picture), plus it sort of looks like a Victorian era hairstyle (being big on top and having a couple of big curls down on side - if that makes sense) but my only problem is that I am not sure whether my hair would hold it or not because it is so thick and straight.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/krysten_207/Wedding%20Planning/HairUp.png
I was looking at updo styles because I think my hair would hold them better, and this is one that I like. It is very romantic and "princessy" and should look good with the tiara.
So what do you all think?

i'm glad i could be of help! I like the updo the best. but I have to tell you I have thick, straight hair and my hair held up for the whole day....I don't how hair stylist can get your hair to do things that it normally doesn't want to.....but they do!

Oh wow I love ALL these hairstyles!
I am doing the same thing with my hairdresser as I won't have rehersal time either. She is going to take step by step images of doing my hair! I think secretly she would like me to take her out there with us:lmao:
:goodvibes Thank you! It sounds like you have a great hairdresser too! I am sure that mine would love to come too lol, and she knows my family so we would be comfortable with her there but unfortunately she won't be there with us.

That website was definitely helpful - I am glad you posted it! Thank you for your input, I will definitely keep it in mind. The final decision probably won't get made until I see what happens at the trial, but I am an organized person and I like to get things done in advance lol And I think that hairdressers have something magic that allows them to style our hair in a way that stays!

I like all the hairstyles, but the last one is the best.

Popular opinion seems to be that the updo is best! I will definitely be getting my hair dresser to try it out on me and hope that I like how it looks on me. Thanks for your input!

So I finally have some pictures of the invitations as they turned out!! The pictures aren't great (they make the invites look bubbly) but I think that they look alright in the flesh. So here are some pictures!

The invites are STUNNING!! So pretty! I can't say enough about them. :) (Oh, and if I'm not too late on the hair question, I vote for the updo too!) :)

Thanks Joanne! It makes me feel better to read everyone's positive comments! And it is definitely not too late for the hair vote - I won't be going for my appointment until the end of August. Hopefully the updo works well with my hair!

the invites turned out great, I love the colors. The hair thing can be tricky. I have fine straight hair that normally doesn't hold a curl but when I had my trial it actually stayed. I like the look of updo's but it's just not me, so I was happy I could do 1/2 up 1/2 down. It'll be good to test it out though and see if you like it.

Thank you! Hairdressers do seem to be able to get our hair to do some things we cannot do on our own, but historically my hair doesn't hold curls very well :rotfl: Hopefully I will get to try both styles at my trial and see which one actually looks best on me. I appreciate your opinions!

I have more updates! Things have been happening non-stop lately :rotfl: As you obviously know we are having a Disney wedding - which is much more "me" than DF. He has been to Disney (I took him for his first trip a couple of years ago!) and he enjoyed himself, but he is not a fanatic like me.
So since early on in the planning, I have been trying to get DF to find ways to include more of his personality into the wedding. I have not had a whole lot of success with this - other than his choice of sand ceremony sand colours lol So I have been on the lookout for ways to incorporate him!
A couple of weeks ago, I found these amazing cufflinks on ebay and couldn't pass them up!

DF is a hugeeee KISS fan - always has been, always will be - so I thought that was something that should be incorporated into our wedding day. We are also using one of their songs as our first dance song - most people look at me like I am crazy when I say that haha But DF really likes the cufflinks and I am super excited about them too!

Today is
2 Months until our DFTW!!
I cannot believe how time flies!! In honour of this milestone lol I am going to post another to do list for what I still have left!
- Finish/mail invitations for our home party in October (the ones for Disney are done!)
- Choose our music for our ceremony (I think I may have been procrastinating on this one)
- Finish my ceremony program fans
- Create my seating chart and table names (which I cannot do until I hear from my planner about tables!)
- Make final centrepiece and linen decision (again, waiting to hear)
- Get my dress hemmed (I have already spoken to my seamstress, it is just a matter of going)
- Finish my welcome newsletter for the guest rooms
- Attend my hair trial at home (August 27th)
- Figure out who is going to do our toast!
- Find a guestbook/toasting glasses
- Get wedding bands resized closer to the wedding day (our jeweller does it same day)
- Make our final payments!
- Finish packing (I put our suitcases in my home office and have been sort of packing things here and there for months - I really like to be organized lol)
So not that much left to do, and most things are started but just not completed yet. We are getting closer!
