View Full Version : I'm having a crappy night....UPDATE

My mom invited me and my 3 DC to dinner...under the guise that she wanted to buy them all new sneakers for back to school.
As we're walking into the restaurant, she turns to me and says "oh in case I forget to tell you...I'm leaving your father"
The story is very involved and convoluted, but the short version is that my parents moved in with my grandparents (my dad's side) in order to financially bail out my grandparents. My parents bought their house for the cost of their debt...about $250,000, and they now all live in this huge monstrosity of a home. Well my grandmother has made my mother's life a living hell......you wouldn't believe some of the stories....well, my mother finally has had enough (6 years) and has told my father she is selling the house and moving....he can either come with her or stay with his parents.....I'm not sure he's going to go with my mother, as he is the only child and my grandparents are very needy...I understand his is in a tough situtation too...
Anyways...I've gone on and on...thanks for listening....it's just been a real shock...and a crappy night......they've been married for 35 years......
Oh yeah...we did go to the mall to buy sneakers and as we were leaving...the mall closed because of a bomb scare...could today suck anymore???? yeah! the dog got sprayed by a skunk...ugh.....

GEEZ! When it rains it pours for you! {{hugs}}

I don't know your mom and I had to read that "I'm leaving your dad" line 3 times! I can imagine the stuff your grandmother has been doing to your mom. In laws can be quite a bear to put up with.:(

How's the dog?

I'm so sorry. I hope that your Dad realizes that his life is with your Mom and Grandma and Grandpa maybe should find something a little more affordable.

Hugs to you, I am sure you were shell-shocked. :(

DH, DD, and I (no DS yet) lived with his parents for almost 2 years. It was the most miserable 2 years of my life. :(:(:( One day I said, "I am moving out. Are you coming?" Thank God he did. :)

Like my grandmother says - "There is no henhouse big enough for two roosters."

I wish you the best. :)

Thanks everyone.
After a restless night, I feel like I've been hit by an emotional truck.
Update on the dog.....she had a bath in Woolite and she's much better now...still not sleeping on my bed..but can tolerate her in the house at least.....

Thanks again everyone.

So..my mom calls me this morning, and apparently my grandparents are having State Div. of Elderly Svc. investigate the treatment my parents to my grandparents.
For an example...
The house they live in is 5500 sq. ft. all on one level (handicap accessible) and my parents are "allowed" one bedroom, one bath, and their own living room". My grandmother doesn't let my mother go in the kitchen, do her laundry, use any of the other parts of the house...THAT MY MOTHER OWNS....ugh.
Hopefully, the state people will be objective, and see the whole picture....I'm just overwhelmed...how many more days til Disney???
