(besides when you've had too much to drink.)
Sometimes when I introduce myself, I get tongue-tied when saying my name. It's not hard. Andrea. (On -dray- a) -trying my hand at phonetics, here.
maybe that's why I always say Drea or Dre.
**or maybe that's why people give me special smiles.;)

Well, I don't have a problem. But....when I was in school, all my teachers called me michael. What is up with that?

Not my first name, but in all honesty I find myself mispronouncing my last name... probably because I get so many dang telemarketer calls coming in completely butchering it.

Kinda hard to mess up Ann. ;)
I don't have a hard time pronouncing my name (Debbie is a hard name to mispronounce), but I often have a hard time spelling it. I've been known to write too quickly or attempt to write and speak at the same time, and ended up with "Debbbbbie." I'm a brunette, so I can't use the excuse that it's a dumb blonde mistake, but still - how many "b's" belong in my name? :)

Sometimes instead of typing Amy I type Amu. I think that name has a distinctive ring. :D

LOL Amy! I've done that before too.
I actually do have trouble with my last name, because it can be pronounced either the German or the English way. The German sounds nicer but my family has been using the English for so long that I tend to use that when it's just in casual conversation with people I already know. It sounds all nasal though. :o I use the airier sounding German way when I'm introducing myself. ....and that has to be the most boring post I've ever typed. ;)

No, but when I had my maiden name I always had to say it two or three times for people to get it right. And I'd have to spell it. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad my husband has an EASY name! :teeth:

Yep. I hate to say my own name. My last name is ok, but my first name, it's sounds like I'm embarrassed about it or something.:o

I do. Actually, I'd rather blame it on the person hearing it. :) They always think I say Lynn instead of Lea Ann. Sometimes I draw it out - Leeeeeeeeeeeeee Ann. :)

I have more trouble typing my name. It just shouldn't be that difficult. It's been my name all my life!

Well, Laura isn't a tough name to pronounce and my maiden name was simple too........my married name is a 13 letter Polish name! That one is a bit tougher not only for me but for every other person who ever has to say it. :D

Yes!
It's the weirdest thing.. my name isn't difficult, but no one EVER understands what I'm saying...
My husband told me the other day after re-saying my name to his co-worker that I say my name wrong!
It's Beth.. I get the Beh out .. but fade on the eth I guess?
Or worse.. I'll say Beth *pause* any .. instead of Bethany.. it's bad.. I need to practice..
I get a lot of mail that says stephanie

LOL, Lars!! You mean, like MIENTKIEVICZ?!? That is one of my favorites these days. What a great defensive first baseman!
I don't have any trouble saying my name, but I often type it wrong. Too many vowels, I guess. Of course, my last name makes up for that with 8 consenants and only 1 vowel!!
