today my department had a lunchtime cruise on the harbor. very few of us got all the answers to this quiz (I've removed the 3 questions that were just about our company):
1. What is the longest street in NYC?
2. What is New York State's nickname?
3. In which arm does the Statue of Liberty hold her torch?
4. What is the name of the island where the Statue of Liberty is located?
5. Which two states fought over the Statue of Liberty?
6. Which five states border New York State?
7. True or false. Central Park is bigger than Monaco.
8. True or false. Most of the tip of Manhattan is made up of landfill.
9. True or false. In NYC the "streets" run north and south.
10. Who sings "New York State of Mind"?

the City is "the big Apple" but the state is "the Empire State".
