So my stepdad is overseas and wanted to go on vacation when he gets home because he will have a month leave.
First he said no Disney... Now he says since I did such a good job taking care of all his finances we could go to Disney!
Not long ago he got a pin in the mail for free dining up until July.
My question is would we be able to book the room and get the free dining, but buy the military $99 tickets or would we still need to buy the 1 day ticket with the package?
We will only be staying for 4 nights and we have the GAD vouchers so we really dont need the 1 day!

We did free dining and the military tickets last year and we still had to buy 1 day tickets. Disney requires everyone to book a package with at least 1 day ticket to get free dining, even with a free dining pin. hth

First off, congratulations!!

Second, have you priced Shades of Green, adding their dining plan and no one day ticket, it may be a better deal, if they have availability.

Thirdly, not sure how you would go about it, but I see tickets for sale all the time on Ebay and Craigslist. So you would have the upfront cost, but be able to recoup it after.

Have a wonderful vacation!!

I booked the military deal with the 40% off rooms and added dining...you did not have to purchase a 1 day ticket with that. But if you want the free dining, then yes you would have to get the 1 day ticket. Check out the prices to see which is cheaper for you...40% off room and pay for dining, or pay full price for room, 1 day ticket and get free dining! Good Luck and have fun! We are going in June for SWW!!!

2. The SoG Dining Plan is definitely not worthwhile. It is only for dining at SoG with no other options. There is no flexibility, and it can kill many hours from a day to leave a park and then return.

3. Any purchase of tickets on CL or eBay is dangerous! You have absolutely no way of knowing whether the tickets are valid or not until you get to a Park Gate. And if they are not valid, or have a lot less on them than you thought, you are immediately out a lot of money in having to buy new tickets.
