View Full Version : Gifts Ahoy Offerings To Improve?

I was on the phone with DCL this morning. We started talking about Gifts Ahoy and I said I was disappointed with their lack of DCL exclusive merchandise. I was told they are receiving LOTS of complaints about that from nearly everyone they've talked with, and that they are going to try to do something about it. Nothing specific was mentioned, but there may be hope!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that inkkognito posted about this and mentioned that atigeg would be updating their site. Has anyone checked to see if it has been updated? I would love to see the new offerings.:)

Barb did scan in the new brochure on her web site - there is a thread with a direct link - subject indicates new Magical treasures I believe. And if memory serves (and it may not!) the link is www.*****************

There must be something wrong with my computer. When I get to the website, I get the old scan of the magical treasures. When I refresh the page, I get the home page. Can someone give me a direct link to the new scan?

Barb did scan and post it, but what I was referring to is that the current offerings (from the new brochure she has posted) are inciting A LOT of complaints to DCL about the lack of DCL exclusive merchandise, and they are now apparently going to TRY to remedy that. Gifts Ahoy has some nice things, but most of them could be bought at WDW or elsewhere.

Okay - Yes, the current Gifts Ahoy brochure was posted by Barb <a href="http://www.angelfire.com/my/disneycruiser/dclbuy.htm">HERE</A>. We all appreciate that immensely since we can see what is now offered. However, the REASON I started this thread was because of my conversation with a CM at DCL today. Some people on the DIS (including me) are not entirely pleased with the new brochure because it has almost no DCL exclusive merchandise. <B>I was told today that DCL is receiving LOTS of COMPLAINTS about that, so they are going to try to remedy the situation. I took that to mean that the "new brochure" will be added to or some items replaced with DCL exclusive merchandise.</B> No timeframe or details were given, but apparently they are working on it due to the volume of complaints.

Yes, I know why you started the thread. I did not mean to "hijack" it and I hope that the offerings improve also.

Oh, that's okay, bizybea. Not worried about "hijacking." The only reason I started a new thread was because the info I got from the CM was news to me, and I figured those who had already read about or seen the new brochure Barb posted might not read subsequent posts. I just wanted to let those who are not overly pleased with the new offerings know that there is hope - A change is in the works!

That's one thing I love about DCL...they really do care about guest comments and make changes based on what people say! Our next cruise is in Nov., so hopefully there will be something new to scan with those docs.

I sure hope so, Barb. The CM actually sounded <I>worried</I> and said they'd had <I>thousands</I> of complaints already. I don't know if that was just a figure of speech and exageration or not, but I think they are serious about remedying the situation. I know that takes time, but supposedly they ARE "working on it."
