I am starting to think our ceremony is a little on the short side, so thinking of adding in a Unity Candle to lengthen it a little.
However we are getting married at an outdoor location over looking a lake so not sure on how windy it is going to be.
Anyone else done one on outside location?
Also, we are wanting a plain white candle set and i am going to stick crystals on the candle but plain white seems to be difficult to find in the UK. So if anyone has any ideas on where we can get one it would be greatly appreciated.

I was in the same situation before, and we decided on the sand ceremony. We're doing an outdoor location in Epcot, and I didn't want to have to worry about the candle blowing out, or what do you do when the ceremony is over...blow it out? I like the idea of a sand ceremony better, I think it will last better and no worries about candles blowing out.

Disney has some pictures of outdoor unitiy candle sets on the DFTW website that are in hurricane lamp vases. I asume this is so the wind is not so much of an issue.
Here is the link, scroll down to the last row and the example is in the middle.

I was at an outdoor wedding recently (not a Disney) and they did a sand ceremony and it was beautiful. There was a speech about how the sand was in separate containers and now they are combining the two containers and becoming one, and that no matter how hard you tried, you would never be able to separate the sand back out into the two separate containers (different colored sand). I had never seen a sand ceremony before, but really enjoyed it.

We had an outside ceremony in Epcot and did a Unity Candle Ceremony. We could not keep the candle lit. Looking back I am sorry we did not do the sand ceremony but at the time it just reminded me something kids do at a carnival. There are some beautiful sand holders out there that you can get your names and date engraved. You will definately have a hard time with the candle.

Hi,
We are not so keen on the sand ceremony because of the same reason as you, but thank you for your advice on the candle x
