We do, but we hardly ever use it. Maybe for Christmas or something like that.

We've roasted marshmellows in it before. lol

Yes, and we have never used it! :teeth:
We are thinking of using it this winter, though.

We have one and use it all the time. The older couple we bought the house from lived there for 29 years and NEVER used it. We also have a Coleman outside fireplace that we use a lot too.

Yes, we've got a 2 sided fireplace between the living room and dining room, and we're adding a gas fireplace in the bedroom next month.

We have a real one in the living room and an electric one in the playroom. The real one has never been used, but we do use the fake one, mainly for heat.

I voted yes, but mine is actually a free standing Buck Stove with glass inserts. It is in my den and we use it on really cold days. Sometimes it gets so warm that we have to open the windows in the middle of the winter!

When we had this house built, we paid a little extra for the fireplace so we darned well better use it!

It's a wood burning fireplace...but I wish it was gas....they wanted an additional $800.00 to tap into the gas line out front, and at the time, we couldn't afford having that extra $800.00 added in to the price of the house (already paying extra for the fireplace.)

It is nice though, nothing like the crackle and warmth of a wood fireplace, and the smell is nice too especially during the holidays.

Yes and we use it:)

Yes, but we don't use it. It's gas and super-easy to light, but the chimney works so well that the room actually ends up colder because it sucks up all the heater air. Plus we have a family of birds that nests in there every spring, so we'd have to chimney sweep clean out the nests.

We have one and use it all fall and winter. :bounce: Both DH and I love it.

It has a gas starter, and we could convert to gas logs if we wanted to, but we both prefer burning wood. :D

Yes, in the living room, but rarely use the living room so rarely use the fireplace. Mostly holiday time.

Yes, and we do use it often in cool weather :) I buy the crystals to toss in that turns the flames different colors.

Yes we have a wood burning fireplace but we only seem to use it during a cozy winter night and the Christmas season....maybe about 2 to 3 times a season.:D

I would really like to have it converted over to natural gas though.Has anyone else changed their's over to gas? Are you happy with it?:D

Yes we have one, and we used it a lot this past winter. Our house was six years old when we bought it, and the fireplace had never been used! I've always wanted a fireplace, so that was a major selling point for us. We both love layin on a blanket in front of the fireplace, very romantic!;)

Yes, when we built the house, all the homes in this neighborhood were built with a brick fireplace in the FR. We had gas logs installed and use them all the time. We love it!

We have a wood burning fireplace. Truthfully I had to have at least one fireplace in our house, but we haven't used a fireplace in years! Why I wanted one, I have no idea but I felt like our home wouldn't be a real home unless we had one.

Yes, we have one. As a matter of fact, I HAD to have one (we built). DH built the hearth and tiled it all. Very nice. We do use it, but I think we have run out of wood. Oh DH.........:)

We have 2, but we only use one. We have NEVER used the other one... i think it is just for decoration!! We have on in our Family room that we use occasionaly, and there is one in the nook of my mom and dads room, but it just sits there, has never been used lol

We love ours. DH and DS's fight over who will start and maintain the fire....just like the cavemen! The cats and dog lie in front of the hearth and we arrange the furniture so we can all see it and the TV. We burn about a cord each winter.

It came in really handy when the power went out in the winter. ;)

We have a small Vermont Castings woodstove that we keep going all winter. It's a bit of work, but so cozy and warm. :)

We have 3 masonry fireplaces. One in the family room that we use frequently in the winter. One in the bedroom that we rarely use because it gets too hot, and one in the basement that we never use because we are never down there. All are wood burning. We are building a new log home, and are trying to decide if we want the fireplaces to be wood burning or gas. It seems like sacriledge to have a gas fireplace in a log home, but I know we will use it more if we don't have to carry wood in. It will be a lot less messy too. DH would like to have one of each, so we have a decision to make. Any thoughts for us?
