COMPLETE Topper'nTag Swap

Toppers & Tags due JUNE 1
This is a simple swap. For each group you're in, you will make a title:topper and one element choice.

1. Due date is The due date is June 1. That is when I need to receive your package. Mail by date is May 28th, to make sure your package arrives to me.
2. You pick your topic when you sign-up
3. Please limit yourself to 2 groups when signing up if I have not swapped with you before.
4. Required: You will make ONE Topper and ONE element choice from the list below for each person in your group. There will be a different number people per group so please double check your amounts.
5. Packaging Instructions:
Place your completed elements in a Ziploc bag with your DIS name, name and group number. Place all your baggies for a group in a GALLON size bag, and label with the same. Please use a gallon bag – even if your pieces are smaller and may not require it, the pieces you will be getting back may be bigger.
6. Postage:
Please include cash, check or stamps (No Click-it/ship-it postage). Please include enough to cover the postage and Delivery Confirmation if you wish it for the correct size flat rate box or envelope.
7. PM me with your name, address, email address, contact phone number- even if you have swapped with me before. If you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.
8. Most importantly HAVE FUN!! I know we all get worried about our stuff sometimes. I know everything will be GREAT! Just make something you would be proud to have in your own albums, and everyone will love it!!

Suggestions for embellishments include:
Die cuts, stickers, stickles, flock, ink, chalk, brads, charms, flowers, eyelets, ribbon/fiber, sewing, tearing, embossing, stamping, clipart, additional layers of paper beyond double mats (if it would look weird trying to fit in another embellishment, specialty paper (such as embossed, glitter, Bling).

If you can think of no way to embellish your item, without it looking weird, you can provide an embellishment not attached to your item, such as a Cricut icon cutout, or a set of 4 brads/eyelets, a yard of ribbon/fiber, etc.

Note: Please no handwritten items.

The title topper could be paper pieced names on the Cricut carts, welded (SCAL, DS, Wishblade etc) words or traditional 8x2, signage 6x2, license plate, 4” Altered Letter - matted and embellished

The element is to be chosen from the list below:
Photo Mat: 1 PP first/top layer no smaller than 6-1/4 x 4-1/4, double matted and embellished
Journaling Box: 1PP at least a 3x3 writing area, double matted with actual journal area placed on top of the two mats and embellished
Tag: 1 PP for medium or large tags, 2 pp for 2x3 tags, double matted and embellished two ways, include either ribbon/fiber or eyelet/brad in the hole. May include both....the fiber and or eyelet does not count as part of the 2 embellishments.
Embellished Shapes: 3PP 1-1/2x1-1/2 or larger if you wish, double matted and embellished. These can be circles, squares, flowers, etc. be creative. If it is a shape that would not look right double matted please use your best judgment.....Just make up for it in another way. Maybe make a few extra or throw in something extra.
Slide Mounts: 2PP be creative here please
File Folders or Matchbooks: 1 PP if medium size or lager, 2 pp if mini sized. Please make sure to enclose a blank page in the matchbook if this is the element you choose to do.
Bottle Caps: 2PP if metal, 4PP if paper
Library Pocket and Tag: 1PP embellished, no smaller than to hold 2x3 a tag that should have ribbon/fiber or eyelet in the hole
Paper Piecing: 1PP be creative please
License Plate: 1PP be creative please
Signage/Bookmark: 1PP 2x6, double matted and embellished
Song/Lyric/Poem: 1PP, double matted and embellished
Altered CD cover: 1PP be creative please
Altered Paper Clips: 3 large size ones

I'm kinda on the fence. This is my favorite swap and I was really looking forward to it, but now I'm not sure what to do. I have a Boy Scout book that I have to get finished in time for an Eagle ceremony and I'm just dragging my feet on it. I can't seem to get inspired. I know if I join this swap I'm going to do this and not work on the book and then I'll have one disappointed kid on my hands. Think I need to sit this one out just so it forces me to do what I have to get done. I know I'll regret it when I see the pieces posted. :headache: I'll be happy to angel if you need me.

Good luck on the scout book. I was rushing right before my son's Eagle ceremony trying to get his book up-to-date. I was so glad that I got it finished, first because it made him happy to have it, and second because it was one of the most popular things we had displayed. Boys and adults enjoyed looking through it. Now if I'd just get it caught up through his ceremony!

Okay so ladies...for my last group I had to do I purchased a title and element. A lady at the weekend crop I was at had a booth and was selling custom made die cuts using her die cut machine. She did amazing things. Sooooo I didn't make it, but it is beautiful. I did pick everything out--and she cut it with a shadow. She had the prettiest glitter paper I've ever seen--so I got it on everything. I had her do the word Epcot with a Mickey Ears hat on the E (it's pop dotted) and she made Mickey's arm holding the star wand that goes over the Spaceship Earth ball. Hope it's okay that I personally did not make them. BUT I figured it would be ok since you can't go to the local Michaels or JoAnn's and buy it.

So I am postal now. Mailed my pkg. tonight priority mail. Off tomorrow morning to drive to get our puppy!!!:banana::cool1:

Ann, If it's a problem and you'd rather that I make all swap items personally myself then please PLEASE just let me know and I can make something else and run it over to your house. I certainly don't want to break any swap rules or step on toes. I can whip something up and trade ya if you think it's better. The puppy slept good for our first night (only cried about 5 mins. in the crate and quieted right down when I put my fingers in the crate and talked to him.)So things are not too crazy and sleepless here that I couldn't handle making something else if you think it's best.

No it is NOT a problem. Wash that thought out of your mind. We often help each other by cutting something out if we have a cart and they don't.

I just got your box today. Is it the Epcot & arm? If so, there isn't a single person who swaps here that wouldn't be thrilled to have that. It is really awesome. And like I said, you picked it out and you were right there when it was made. That is not store bought. Store bought is something we can find easily at a box store. Completely different animal.

Everything looks great in person. I wish I was getting it all.

So happy to hear the puppy is doing well. There may be days you don't think so, but the puppy stage is so short. They outgrow the need to chew. :thumbsup2

I thought it turned out cool though. I did work with the lady to design them. I originally asked her for a spaceship earth ball and after she searched on her computer for images she suggested the mickey arm with the star. I *think* it has since been removed from it's position over the big ball, right? But I figured it would work for those of us who have pictures from past trips--or it looks like it would work for sorcerer mickey stuff or DHS pictures. I'm not sure if you can order it from her via her website. I know she cut extra of the Epcot word and was bagging them up for sale at the crop. A few people bought them I know. Thanks! Yes, I used red ribbon on the journal boxes and 3 different papers for the letters. I was trying to capture the outdoorsy (not sure that is a word) feel of the mountain/waterfall area.

OK...after fighting with photobucket for quite a long time tonight, I finally got my pix uploaded!!! Here are my pieces that are on their way!!!!

Ohana:

The letters in the title are inked brown...it's hard to see in the photo. The flower and mat can be used for either Ohana dinner or breakfast. The tag is kind of for the dinner.

I did the first title and wasn't happy with the stitching, so I did the altered letter also. The little icons on the letter are glittered. I included the others that I didn't like also...just in case anyone was interested. Also, I added the cutout from those. The other items are a cricut piecing, tag and 4 emb. squares.

The longer title is somewhat hard to read. My husband said it was fine, but I did an additional just in case! The leaf on the mat is only attached on part of it so you can slip a picture under it. The one on the journal box is totally attached.

LOL The pop is a cricut piecing and has micro beads. I made the borders and then looked at the element list and realized they were not listed, but included them anyway. But, I made slide mounts in their place. They have the swirly cut out and little candies.

Mulan:

The top layer of the title is gold paper. It seems a bit hard to tell in the picture. The mat has a different gold paper. The Mulan is a Mardenz piecing and the fan is Cricut.

The WDW title is on a license plate with the letters glittered. The tag has a Cricut cut and the mat has cricut borders. They are only attached at the ends so a picture can slip under them. The mat is also stitched around the edges. The heart is Cricut.

The best way to do the shadows is to open a 2nd page. When you do that, a light image of your 1st page shows and you can then adjust your shadow letters over that image to make sure they'll fit properly.

It really is wonky. Thankfully it was on long enough earlier to print out the postage. Those I did on line will receive their DC directly from them via email. I have heidi's DC here.

It is the plastic zippering part of the baggies that makes them difficult to work with, nothing we can do to change that. Luckily one of your baggies didn't have that. :thumbsup2 And the squeezing out of the air is not my forte. Those priority envelopes don't give you much space to work with.

I will update the slideshow with the group 3 pictures tomorrow. I will also PM those swappers in the morning. :flower3: Way too tired to think in straight sentences right now.

Well, as of a few hours ago she was happily riding the Yeti for the 2nd time! Soaked on Kali river rapids...in addition to the rain.... they were having a blast!!!
