What Beach near Orlando would you recommend?

My DH suggested that on next year's WDW trip, we should go to the beach for a couple of days? We've been to Disney 4 times now and the family hasn't seen the ocean!! :o

So CBers, what would you suggest??

Which beach? What hotel? and the best way to get there...rental car or a towncar service??

St Pete Beach and the Don Cesar resort! Can't tell you how wonderful this place was:cool: ! Pricey, but worth it! The resort and the beach were the best I have been to, and I am a Floridian!!

Depends on if you want the gulf or the ocean. We always go to the Panama City Beach/Fort Walton/Destin area but that is too far away from WDW. My dad loves Daytona Beach but I haven't been there in about 30 years. He always stays at the El Caribe. My aunt and uncle love St. Petersburg. Sorry I wasn't too much help was I?:p

St. Pete and Clearwater are nice, if you want to be on the Gulf. About a 2 hour drive from Disney, maybe a little less if you hit the traffic right.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach in April before our cruise. We loved it and hope to return sometime for a longer stay! The Hampton was so very reasonably priced and included a FREE rather abundant continental breakfast. It was just a short walk to the beach. The beach was so clean -- sand so white -- and water so blue and warm!
