I have been to DW twice. Once in 1976 and once in 1991. I am a long time Disneyland annual pass holder and attend regularly with my husband and kids. I am going to a convention in Orlando sans family and would like to know your top recommendations. I have never seen Animal Kingdom. I have a block of 7 hours free on a Thursday - all daytime hours and I have two days where I will have a few hours free in the afternoon and then a few hours free at night. I will be staying at the Contemporary. Where would I best spend my time? Are there single rider options available at the parks like in DL? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lucky you!
Epcot is my favorite, so I always spend the most time there. If Flower&Garden is still going while you're there, that's worth checking into. You wouldn't need to have ADRs, since you could "Eat Around the World". (haha...I love doing that!). And don't forget Illuminations. It's not to be missed.

I spent a few days solo at WDW this week, and visited EPCOT and DHS. I'm an Annual Passholder and have visited all the parks. My favorite attractions are Philharmagic in MK, Test Track in EPCOT (single riders lane), Lion King Show in AK and American Idol Experience in DHS. It will be nearly impossible for you to see everything in the limited hours that you have, but staying on site at the Contemporary will give you a better advantage in seeing as much as you can!

Solo at Disney is fun! Since you are right there....definately check out the Magic Kingdom! While there are not any single rider lines there, you may still find it easy to work you way around the park by yourself!
A lot of what you can do depends on when you are going, what kind of park hours are happening at that time and what kind of tickets you are willing or wanting to get.
Since you are staying on property, don't forget you can take part in Extra Magic Hours!!
Great Single Rider lines include Test Track at Epcot and Rock'n'Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios!

Have fun!

(Oh, don't forget some great shopping at Downtown Disney and grab a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich - yum!!)
