We'll be on this sailing as well! This will be a mother/daughter cruise for us---me and my three daughters (15, 13 and 12 at the time). We will actually be coming right off the 4 night DREAM cruise on Oct 16. I just knew 3 or 4 nights wouldn't be enough for us so we created our own 7 nighter! :goodvibes

Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi Cari

Well we are really looking forward to it. I am really glad to hear that you allow people to play with Denver. My girls will be real glad to hear that. My wife and I did our very first cruise last January. It was on DCL and loved it, Needless to say we are hooked. When we where on that cruise we booked another one for November of 2011. A 4 night, unfortunatly that will have to be pushed back to December do to me being able to get the time off work. Then we booked this one with all the other family for October. so we have 2 booked right now and will probably book another one next October while on the cruise with you. we Can't wait to do the dream, I wish it would get here faster. well take care and talk to you soon.

The kids are going to go nuts when they find out about it. when we are on the cruise in October we are going to book a seven night for the following year. We have only gone the one time but we are hooked. We live in Michigan. We are hoping that they will have trick or treating for the kids, if they do we are going to bring there costumes with us. well I have to go for now, been a real long week. time for bed

Hi Cari.

Glad to hear they are going to have trick Or treating on the Cruise. I think my girls will get a kick out of that. We are looking at one of the Med Cruises, but we are also contemplating trying to get on the Fantasy's maiden Voyage. we are also thinking January of 2013 for the 7 night as well, maybe sooner. We would love to come out to Cali for a cruise, The only thing holding us back is the Air fair right now. that is something we would love to do. I lived in Cali for a short time when I was in the Marine Corps, I would love to go back there some day. My wife was born and raised here in Michigan and has never left. Me I was born here and raised in Ontario Canada. I have been back here in Michigan since I graduated High School some 22 years ago. . look forward to talking to you again soon, give Denver a pat for us.

*whispers so as not to wake anyone up* Hello ... hello, anyone here?

Fancy some company on that little ol' Dream ship?:)

We are, in no particular order ....

Joa (me) ... will be my 4th Disney cruise
Mick (my boyfriend) .. 3rd cruise

Tina (my best buddy and twin) ... Disney cruise virgin.:cool1:
Nigel (her lovely husband) .. as above

and last but by no means least, we have Elle who will be 13 when we sail. She is the daughter of Tina and Nigel and she thinks we're going to Tampa for a few nights as we 'couldn't afford the cruise' in 2011 !! We will not tell her until we see the ship at PC ... I'll try to get a picture of her as she realises .. it'll be so funny in a lovely way!:yay:

Looking forward to doing FE's with you all and can't wait to meet Denver.pluto:

Ffffor me the best part of cruising is the forced relaxation. I work so many hours that when I go on vacation it is hard for me to slow down.

We are Barry and Teresa will be traveling with our DS (24). Doing a b2b on the Wonder, 8/16 and 8/20so won't have to move or pack when we get back to Orlando. You probably won't see us on often for a while because we are leaving Friday for the eastbound transatlantic from Spain, 14 days on the Wonder. :yay: That dis board has over 4000 entries and its been fun. We have taken both a Oct and Nov cruise. The Oct one went great last year, but when we took one in earyl Nov 08, wouldn't you know it, a hurricane in the Atlantic.:scared1: Was scheduled on a eastern, and it got changed to a modified western, not our desire. I don't need to see Mexico again, that's all we did. We look forward to meeting you all next year and hope to keep up with you during the wait. Does anyone know if there is a Pirate party pirate: on the shorter cruises like on the 7 day ones.

Hi there! I'm Debbie and DH is Junior. We just booked this cruise while we were on the DVC SSMember Cruise. We left our kids at home for the member cruise, but we'll be bringing them with on this one. HOWEVER, we're basing this cruise date on the assumption that our kids will be out of school for fall break that weekend. If they're not, then we'll have to re-schedule for the correct fall break weekend. Both kids throw a fit if we take them out of school for vacation. They like to earn the perfect attendance awards.

We can't wait to see the new ship!! We are planning on bringing my Dad, my mother in law, and my sister in law and her family. But we'll see....it's all up in the air right now.

This will be our 8th cruise. We LOVE DCL.

How old are your children? We've been really lucky on our last two cruises that our Son found a buddy of similar age before we cruised and they got on great in the kids clubs etc.

My family LOVES Disney. DH and I first went to WDW together just three months after we met and we've been Disney fanatics ever since! And of course our honeymoon was at WDW (that wasn't a big surprise to anyone close to us! :rotfl2:). We used to go to WDW pretty much every single year until DCL set sail. Of course, then some of our vacations were on cruises instead of on land! This cruise will be our 8th cruise. My favorite part of cruising is just looking around the ship, taking it all in and finding new details each time I sail.

Sounds like us! We got married in Orlando in 1993 on our first trip to WDW. We were there for a month and we've been back every year since. Ellis was 15 months old on his first trip and we're all hooked and Disney mad. The one year we managed to visit Disneyland, WDW and Disneyland Paris in thesame year:rotfl: I'd love to visit Toyko, but as yet havent made it.

We'll be travelling with my Brother and his family. I snagged an inside room for this one. I'm dying to check out that virtual porthole. We're back to back for the next 4 night cruise and I'll have a verandah for that one. This will be our 4th and 5th Disney Cruise respectively. I'll be happy to get to know all of you.

Hi folks:goodvibes

We might be joining you! We currently have a 7 night cruise on the Magic booked, but due to various reasons might be switching to this one and the 4 night one before it b2b. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
I should know for definate in a couple of days.

I'm Karen, hubby is Neil and DS Ellis who will be 11 when we cruise. Looking forward to exploring the Dream:banana:

I've already got pre-made friends for this cruise. Karen and family have been on two of our previous sailings. They were the reason that I booked this one. Our sons get along pretty well and Stuart about flipped when I told him I was considering changing my reservation to this sailing.

Hello Karen. It'll be very nice sailing with you again.

I got to go now. I'm supposed to be putting up Christmas lights.

We are fresh off the Magic from the 7 night western Caribbean cruise. Best family vacation ever! We had such a good time we booked this cruise while still on board. It will be the two of us plus our 2 daughters who will be 4 and 8 at the time of sailing. Our brother and sister in law and their 2 kids are joining us as well.

We are completely in for FE. We had such a good time participating this last cruise - the girls were so excited to see their pockets full each day.

We can't wait to see the Dream and get back to Castaway Cay

Count us in!

DH and I will be coming along with our friends and their 5 year old DS and 2.5 year old DD.

The cruise is a surprise gift for our friends. I booked back in July and have had to keep the secret since. I was so glad to finally get to spill the beans today!!! :yay:

This will be our 5th DCL cruise, and their first cruise ever. We'll be spending the beginning part of the week at WDW.

Looking forward to a great time! I hope the weather cooperates with us!

On an unrelated note, I've videotaped my 2010 show but it is blocked by YouTube. So I'm trying some alternative hosting services. As soon as I get one I'll post.

As to your comment about castaway cay, it is better than before. For us, before was January 2010 for our first visit, but we were back last week in Nov 2010 and the splash area is open for the little kids, the water slides in the ocean are open. There are additional food service areas, and they extended the family beach. This time we walked over to the adult only area and we were disappointed. The space was not nearly as "clean" looking. It was clean, but there was tons of seaweed, and because of that, there was a significant odor.

I can't wait for tomorrow my self. Our girls have no idea about the cruise. It is going to be one of there presents tomorrow. They each are going to open a big box and in each box are 14 numbered presents to open. Number one is something small like lip gloss and number 14 is a trained picture of the ship with Mickey holding a scroll telling them about the cruise. I cat wait to see there faces.

Hi everyone! This will be our second cruise on Disney. We did the Wonder last January with our entire family - 17 of us. We booked the Dream while on that cruise for this coming May, but just changed to the October cruise so we can go back with my husband's brother and his family.

We did not do FE on the first cruise, but have been told by family that it is a must. I better start looking for an FE online!

Our kids will be 5 and 3 on this cruise. Hoping they will be amenable to going to the Kids club so we can get some adult time.

Is anyone doing Palo on this trip? How do you decide on a 3 day - I don't really want to miss any of the restaurants.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Well it looks like I am going to be booking this cruise. The kids have Oct. 21 off from school and get out early on the 19th so they will only miss one day. I just need to figure out who all wants to go. DH is not crazy about Disney but likes to cruise so I might get him on the ship but he also coaches soccer in the fall so it might be just me and the kids. So if everyone goes there will be me, dh, DS12, DS10, DD7. I will come back and post as soon as I officially book it. I am really excited. I have never done a Disney cruise. My kids will be excited because it looks like Disney's pools are fresh water. They hate the salt water pools on the other cruise ships we have been on. I guess I better get busy and read up on the Dream.

Welcome! We're glad to have you!

FE = Fish Extender. There's a fish mounted next to every stateroom door, It is actually a clip that hold notes from other passengers, castmembers, family, etc. The Fish Extender is something that hangs on the Fish and has a number of pockets on it to "extend" it's utility. Often, there is a swap of gifts onboard that uses the fish extender. Most Cruise meets thread has someone who is keeping track of those who wish to participate and which room they are in. Before you embark on the cruise you will get a list of those who are participating and you simply drop a present in each fish extender on the list. Others will be doing the same to you so you will rarely return to your room without finding a gift in your extender.

My hubby and I contemplating waiting until the night before the trip to tell our kids. Is that cruel? :littleangel:

My thought process is this: tell the kids now, they will be crazy anxious, and since our trip isn't for another 9 months, that would just be senseless. I could just imagine my four year old asking us every night when we're leaving... lol. I remember my first (and only) Disney trip as a kid, and it was a total and utter surprise... I didn't find out I was going until the MORNING of our trip! I am pretty sure it was the most excited I've ever felt in my whole life (next to meeting my three kiddos for the first time).

So what do you think? Cruel or fun?

Hello everyone! We just booked this cruise last night. We will be sailing the 4 day just prior and then will re-board for this one! This will be the first time we have done this, but read about others doing it as well. Anyone ever sailed back to back? Just wondering how it works. I know that you have to disembark, but I am wondering if we have to take our luggage with us, when they let us back on the ship, and if we have to go through registration again. We also do FEs, so please add us to your list if there is one! We are in #5650, but thats pretty close to the teen club, so we are tossing around the idea of asking to change cabins. We are also baffled about the dinner/show times and which one is better for us. We usually liked main dining, but the choice of a 5pm/9pm show is throwing us off. Any comments?

Fun. My problem is... I am horrible at keeping secrets. I think that I may surprise the family one day with a WDW trip but I gotta find a good enough deal for it. I'd like to go during the Christmas season.

Welcome!

buick86: While I like those rooms for their gargantuan verandahs... I have to say that that room may be a bit problematic. You'll be next to the kids clubs but I think that there is enough separating you from the actual common area to be okay but look below you. Restrooms not bad but next to them is the 687 club. I'm not sure of the theme of that particular club, but I'm guessing that if they do any loud music you may be able to hear that bass. we're doing back to back's this time around as well except we start with this cruise and then do the following 4 night. I'll be taking an inside cabin for this cruise and be on deck 7, then on the four night I got one of these 5E cabins except We'll be fore and over the restrooms to the Walt Disney Theater. Since we are always up late, we'll not be bothered by the noise there as the Theater will be closed by the time we retire.

Hey tere My sister in law and her Family will be on this cruise with us, She lives over there by you in Rockford.

Nope not cruel at all, My wife and I would have done the same but this trip was there big Christmas present so we let the cat out of the bag already. It is hard to keep a secret for a long period of time. We booked this trip back in March of last year. I can't tell you how many times I almost slipped up and told them by accident

We might have been on the same cruise! This will be our 10th. Take a look at my signature and see if you can find the one that you sailed on with us. We definitely see many repeat cruisers on board.

We have not sailed Disney since October 2008, so we are overdue! We did a NCL cruise in 2009 and hit Walt Disney World (Ft. Wilderness Cabins) in 2010. We are counting down the days until our cruise on the Dream. I just watched the webcast of the christening ceremony and I was crying my eyes out.

Well my dd is so excited about this trip but also a little upset. She really wants to ride the Aquaduck but is not 48" yet. The poor girl keeps measuring herself at least once a week. She is small for her age. She is 7 years old and is only about 44". I hope she grows over the summer. Well it looks like it will only be me, DD 7, and DS11 (will be 12). DS 10 plays hockey and doesn't want to miss practice so DH is staying home with him and the Dog.

We think we are going to come in a day or two early and stay at WDW. Has anyone ever done that? Do we just take DME from airport to hotel and then is there a way to request DCL transport from WDW hotel to Cruise ship? We also hope that it works out that we can attend MNSSHP while there. We can't wait for the trip and look forward to joining in on the fun here.

Welcome Aboard We look forward to meeting you. Tell your DD that we will all try and help smuggle her on the Aquaduck. Of course growing over the summer would be the best out come. Sounds to me that you have a good excuse to get her to eat her veggies. :rotfl2: Also are you in for the FE. we are going to have a great deal of fun with it.

Welcome aboard:yay:Yes Disney has DCL that will take you to the cruise terminal but not all hotels has this opition you will have to see which ones do. I think you have to call Disney Cruise line to arrange this or your hotel before you get there. I know the prices was too steep for us, but with out a car your options are few. Hope it helps

We are very excited here just a little pre-occupied with freezing rain and snow. I don't mind the snow but the freezing rain makes driving to work a pain. I am trying to think of items I can give the kids for Valentines day and Easter for the trip. I was thinking of things like pirate tattoos for DS, lip gloss and jewlery for my dd. Maybe some new flip flops?

I need to submit my information yet for the FE. I will state now I am not a crafty person at all and I have looked at the FE picture thread and I am a little worried. There are some really crafty folks on the boards.

We can't wait for the cold weather to go away and to board the DREAM.

Hi Folks

I agree we all need to get a little more chatty so we get to know each other better before cruising. I'm guilty for not posting enough too:rolleyes1.... so lets all try to make an effort to caht:thumbsup2

I transferred a chunk of money this morning into our "holiday" account so now have the flights and villa covered:thumbsup2:banana:... just need to find the $ for the car hire, cruises and hotel now! :scared1:

I think I remember someone on here saying they were doing b2b from the 4 day before this cruise? Thats what we're doing too - never done a b2b before so we're hoping to get the ship to ourselves for a couple of hours when get back onboard before everyone else gets on:yay:

Is anyone planning on a Dis meet? Last cruise we all met up and said hi to each other at the sailaway party. It was a nice ice breaker, gave the kids a chance to say hi and helped us recognise each other whilst wandering around the ship. We all made little pins or stickers so we could recognise each other and met at a specific point on deck. Whats everyone think?:confused3

From what others have said in the past you just get off (you dont need to pack and bring your luggage off), go through check in in the terminal and then are allowed back on to certain parts of the ship. I'll be queuing for the aquaduck if its open or lounging by the pool if its not!

Last time someone designed a cool logo for us all and we all printed that off with our names on. I'm not very good at that sort of thing:rolleyes1 so anyone fancy volunteering to make our cruise logo?

I'm all for the DISmeet by the family pools. I'm thinking just before the sailaway party like before. You'll be all rested from a 4 night cruise while I'll still be shrugging off the effects of cross country flight!

I'm thinking that the AquaDuck will probably be down during the boarding process, but I've been scouring the boards looking for others who can confirm of deny that hypothesis. Still, I'll bet that shortly after boarding commences, it'll be up and running. That interim will be a good time to queue up.

I'm working on a logo but I haven't got it put together yet. I'll post as soon as I have it done. I did the one in my signature line while I was avoiding doing my taxes. So now I need to find something else to avoid doing and I'll be motivated to do a graphic for this cruise!:rotfl2:

There is going to be a huge number of back to back cruisers all year, being a new ship and with the Magic in Europe. It may be that they decide to keep it open. Who knows. I heard that they had a huge number of B2B on the maiden along with 200 platinum cabins!

I got an inside cabin as well for this cruise. 7675. I wanted to see the characters too. On some cruises the inside cabins are selling so well they're more expensive than some of the Verandahs! I think that it is hugely possible that we will be upgraded to at least a Oceanview. I'll miss the characters though. I got a verandah for the next cruise, and I wonder if they'll be doubly generous and upgrade me to that cabin for this cruise. That'll be nice because I won't have to move. If so, I'll be in that line.

You're right Karen securing the same cabin for two cruises would seem unlikely. I'd be easier to upgrade someone else.

Steve, thats why I'm still unsure too. Double FE gifts could be a problem, but Ellis does love racing round the ship delivering the goodie bags and gets even more excited returning to the room to find one waiting for him:goodvibes

I'll have to give it some thought as to what I could do thats real small to pack in the cases and thats not too complicated to make/organise etc.

We arrive Oct 13th, 3 nights not sure where yet - might try Sarasota, then 7 cruise nights and then a villa til Nov 1st. One good thing I guess theres no formal night so at least thats a little less packing! At least we can do laundry in the villa, but I have no intention of doing any of the ship!

Sorry about that! - busy Saturday, taking Ellis to karate and then out for a meal, and busy again today... just back from a successful shopping trip in town.

So, whats everyone doing for excursions?

Nassau for us will be a trip to the straw market then a nearby beach for an hour or two

Castaway cay - might hire bikes as we havent done that in the past and definately hitting the adault beach as we've been twice before and never got there yet!

I really do understand being busy. That's why you don't see a lot of posts from me lately. We have some people that don't get around very well coming with us so in Nassau we are for the most part just going to stay on the ship. I might get off and go and get some of those rum cakes. At castaway Cay I am doing the parasailimg with my oldest daughter and doing the sting ray adventure with my youngest after that. I am sure we will get a couple of bikes to.

I think we are thinking of doing one of the dolphin encounters the cheaper one. Our kids haven't been to atlantis so maybe we'll take this time:scared1: On Castaway Cay we hope to put the kids in the kids area and them stay there. Every time we go there are youngest never last in there. We would like to go to the Adult Beach thou.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

I just booked our first Disney cruise and first cruise ever. We just bought DVC and decided to splurge and add the 3 night cruise to the end of our WDW trip.

So we'll be at WDW from October 15th to the 20th, then setting sail with you guys. We'll be myself (28) and DH (27). We'll have a 7 month old at the time, which I was debating on bringing, but grandma is really insistant that she wants her all to herself for a week (we'll see as the time approaches, but right now looks like it'll be just us for an anniversary trip).

We'll be in room 5536, is this room okay, I didn't do any real research on the rooms and their locations. I've also added the ground transportation back to the airport on the 23rd. Does anyone know what time we would get to the airport?? I've started looking at flights, but have no idea what is the earliest departure I could book and still have enough time to get there and pass security.

Here's my take on that room. (Bear in mind I booked a room near to that one for my 4 night Dream cruise) It's the least expensive verandah on the ship AND those rooms have some of the biggest verandah's on the ship. Problem is, that when you step outside the overhang all above will be able to see you. No biggie unless you are somewhat unclothed. The room itself is directly over the balcony of the Walt Disney Theater. If there are any late night movies you may hear some Bass. I picked one closer to the Elevators which is directly over the bathroom for the WDT. The main entrance to the Vibe is on Deck 4 but there are also some entries on Deck 5 forward. This may lead to increased teenage traffic. I decided to take a gamble on this room because of it's large verandah but I guess I'll find out soon enough as to whether it is worth it or not.

Welcome aboard:woohoo: I agree it wont be your last:thumbsup2 I would try to get to the ship early around noon or so, so you can start enjoying yourself and take a tour while others are boarding. If you have a movie camera make sure you have it on while boarding the ship they will announce your name and clap which is pretty cool :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: As for return maybe someone else know's better we have never use that option before good luck and let your countdown begin :yay:

Thanks, I don't think I'll be bothered by others above me, and I think the larger verandah will be nice. As for the noise, we are night owls and we aren't really planning on early nights, so I don't think that will be an issue either. I guess we'll find out once there.

Its been crazy busy in our house this week, new carpets and chaos! Our master is being done on Friday then phew... I can get my house back to normal!

We've been busy this week doing some planning... we've now got the car hire sorted for after the cruise for a real good price:thumbsup2, also decided on what parks we want to visit this trip and researched various ticket options so slowly but surely I'm ticking things off my very long to do list!.

Researched Nassau and I think we might just grab a taxi to cabbage beach for a couple of hours. $4 each in a cab:thumbsup2

Still have lots to do, but at least I've now started:rolleyes1

Hey Karen. I'm still debating on what to do with Nassau as well. I'm thinking about getting a room at the atlantis to take advantage of the water park but If I do I'll do it on the next cruise not the 3 night one. So I may be staying on board for this one. Who Knows.

I've heard good things about aquatica. That should be fun. Believe it or not, we have only a few water parks in California (just too expensive to run them here) and those that we do have tend to be run down and overly expensive. So, I've really envied the east coast water parks. We did make it to one of Disney's on our first WDW trip. That was a blast. I'd like to do it again someday.

We do a water park most trips over - love Blizzard beach and typhoon lagoon. We havent tried Aquatica yet but heard good things about it now the initial crowds have gone and in Oct it shouldnt be too busy anyway compared to July etc.

Also looking forward to the Harry Potter area in I of A as it was still being built on our last trip.:yay:

I just sent over my information for the FE. Thanks to all of the positive thoughts on this board DD is almost 48 inches tall now. She had her boots on and met the line but I told her she wouldn't be wearing her boots on the Aquaduck. :rotfl: I still need to decide where we are going to stay the night before at WDW. We are hoping we can attend the MNSSHP if they have one on Oct. 19th. If they don't no big deal we will just hang out at hotel and make a trip to DTD. I will be checking in as much as I can. I need to learn more about the ship. We were given late seating but my TA didn't say what time that was. Does anyone know?

This is a fun full year of vacations for my family. We just bought a new Travel Trailer and have 5 camping trips planned.
Easter Weekend we are visiting Mammouth Cave in Ky,
Memorial Weekend - East Harbor State Park in Ohio, It is located between Port Clinton and Marblehead. We only live about 3 hours from here so we visit a lot.
4th of July - We are camping close to Amish Country in Ohio.
July 9-14 - We are camping in Virginia Beach
July 14 - 16 - We are camping at Gettysburg

I am exhuasted just typing them all but we are so excited.

I also have a girls cruise booked for March 31st that I am not even ready for yet. Anyone have any tips for Key West or Cozumel? We are crusing on Carnival for this trip.

I can't wait for Oct. for our very first Disney Criuise. :cool1: Who knows we may end up booking one for 2012 while we are on this one. Only if Disney would release what the Magic and Wonder are doing during the summer of 2012.

Hi, fellow Ohioan. :goodvibes We are staying a campground called Evergreen RV Resort (I think that is the name) in Dundee Ohio. :confused3 I have never heard of it but we heard great things about the campground and it is close to Berlin and Walnut Creek I believe. My DH and I have done a BB in this area but we have never taken the kids and once they saw that the campground had an indoor pool and aircarde they were sold.

This will actually be my second Carnival cruise. We took the kids on their first cruise last summer on Carnival and now they are hooked. They love it. Only 37 more days until I will be in Maimi, not that I am counting. I just can't wait to get out of this weather and into some sunshine.

I hope everyone has a magical Monday.

I have heard of Dundee I think its about 2 hr south of us. If you had to compare a Disney cruise to a Carnival whats the difference? We have been wanting to try one but have been reluctant to do it.

02-22-2011, 10:43 AM
Well I have never been on a Disney Cruise so I won't be able to compare until we get back. However I would not heistate to go on a Carnvial cruise or Royal Caribean as we have cruised with them as well. The thing I love about cruising is going to different destinations. We actually look at iternary first as well as departure port (the one last summer on Carnival left out of Charleston SC, we have never been so spent a few days there before the cruise and had a great time before we even boarded the ship) and then look at what cruise lines go to those places and then decide which cruise line. The only reason we are going on this cruise it to see the new ship and Disney's private Island. This will be our third time to Nassau and will not get off the ship.

My kids enjoyed the Carnival ship we went on. It was a smaller one (Fantasy) but it had a pool and 3 water slides so my kids were happy. They also liked the kids club and eating in the main dining room. They did not order off the kids menu and enjoyed trying new foods. Their favorite thing to eat was Carnivals melting chocolate cake. My kids beg me to make it at home but I haven't been brave enough to try. The decor on Carnival is not my taste but it didn't bother us. We just laughed at how tacky it was. We loved Carnival's island Half Moon Cay. My kids asked if we could stay there a couple of days. It is beautiful.

Here is my opinion don't go into the vacation trying to compare ships. Enjoy what each ship has to offer and the ports of call and I am sure you will have a good time. We are a laid back family and enjoy all of our trips even when things don't go right. The main reason we booked with Carnival last year besides leaving out of Charleston was to visit Grand Turk, however a tropical storm came and we couldn't dock. The captain did what was safe for us and so instead of sitting on the beach we spent the afternoon playing laser tag, took the kids to tea time (kids just liked eating the desserts), and doing a scavenger hunt around the ship. My kids had a blast and I loved spending time with them. :cloud9:

What part of Ohio do you call home? Thanks for the info on the other cruise they are so much cheaper than disney. I would like to try one maybe a western caribbean cruise.:confused3

We live in the Columbus area. My cruise is March is a Western Carb. We leave out of Miami, then visit Key West, Cozumel, and Day at Sea. The cost was around $300 (including taxes and fees) per person. I didn't think it was too bad for a cruise at the end of March.

I have a couple of questions if you dont mind...

Did you find it more crowded than the Magic or Wonder?

Did you request a particular rotation for meals? If so, was it granted? and which was your favourite menu?

Did many people dress up for pirate night?

Thank you :goodvibes

My cruise in January was the one right before the inagural it was travel agent/media 3 night. So the ship was only 1/2 way full so it wasn't crowded at all. We had 2nd dining but 1st was wide open so we switched. Favorite meal..hmmm let me see. I would have to say Royal Palace. That was my favorite meal but Animators Palate was a second runner up. Enchanted Garden was good dont get me wrong but the service that night was very very slow and I had two tired kidos so I didn't really get to enjoy it. Pirate night not to many dressed up but that I am sure was becuase of the type of cruise I was on. I will say my entire family will have our pirate costumes this time around though.

So, as Cari mentionmed - we need a logo and slogan for our cruise.... ideas anyone?

I'm no good at graphics etc so if anyone is talented in that department get your thinking caps on and have a go!

It could be as simple as "Disney Dreamin" with Mickey relaxing on the beach:confused3

...either that or we could have a look at other Dream threads and "borrow" a logo and adapt it to fit ours;):rolleyes1:lmao:

We usually make a t shirt to wear when we board with our logo on or a big button badge etc so we can identify everybody at the meet.:thumbsup2

We're actually going on the MR cruise about 3 months after this cruise. In February. Looking forward to that one because it will be the cheapest Disney Cruise I have ever taken. (I can drive to LA so no airfare required!)

I'd like to find those buttons in bulk. I've only been able to find them individually. This cruise is really getting pretty close. I've been thinking of doing some clothes shopping for it soon. (Can't find swimwear, shorts and T's in October!)

I know NOTHING about Images Im lame when it comes to that LOL -

Yes I agree the MR was 749 PP when I went and ummmmmmm since I live 1 hr from port I paid less for that than I will pay for this cruise when you total in airfare - I love CC though and want to check out the new ship so that is why we are doing this one - oh also because I get to tattoo Dave with a sharpee and write I LOVE JIMMIE JOHNSON on him when he looses our bet ! :rotfl2:

A little tip for the MR if you have never been - When you get off the ship in PV you will get approcahed by taxi guys telling you they are the best price - just to give you an idea we went to a restraunt about 20 min ride away called Margarita Grill ( SOOOO YUMMY ) and it was 250 PP each way so be careful - the first guy said 5 PP ea way -
Also we did not stop in Maz bec if the tourist that got shot but my dad has been there in many cruises and tells me to bipass the taxis and get an open air VW bug - He says that way your not crammed in with 10 people and he says its cheaper - IDK bec I did not go there but it sounds good to me :-):thumbsup2

Anyone else been to the MR ???? I thought I would hate it but I actually LOVED IT !!!! And the Margarita grill - DANG still craving the chips and salsa ! GRrrrrr

I do start with Google Images. when you get your thumbnail screen then hoover your mouse over the images that you like you'll see a slightly larger version come up with the name of the image and beneath it a resolution number (Like: 800x517 or some such) Now if you left click on the picture you will be taken to the place on the web where that picture resides. Now you can right click on the image show and get the full resolution picture from the website it originated.

The difficulty of your logo really depends upon the depth of your idea. Cass is a whiz at Photoshop and she will be able to do great things with the images. I'm only so-so. But I start with my basic concept then look about for images that may fit my plan. If you have a program like Photoshop Elements you can easily cut and paste objects from one item to another. That for instance the Dreaming Mickey in my Signature. I took a great picture of trunk bay and then a picture of Mickey in a hammock then cut Mickey out of his background and overlayed it where I wanted on Trunk Bay. Then I cut and pasted short peices of the rope on the hammock to create the anchor points. I then cut out a picture of the Dream and pasted it on. There's a thought bubble boarder that helped be determine where to cut. After I got the image the way I wanted, I added the wording and I was done. Photoshop Elements makes it pretty easy to do what you want to do. It's not too technical. Still I end up looking on You-Tube for tutorials on how to do some of the more complex items. (Like the Thought bubble with the Dream inside.)

We booked this cruise last September when we we were on the Wonder. The booking was tenative as we were not sure of the dates for fall break for my grandaughters. This will be a short cruise for us. There will be my daughter Michelle (aka Mickey), her friend Chris, my grandaughters Bethanie and Caitlin , and myself Magie. We have 2 cabins booked. This will be the 5 DCL sailing for Michelle and I. The girls will be 17 and 12 at the time of the cruise. Even though this will be a short cruise we are all looking forward to spending time on the Dream.
I havent yet had the time to read the previous posts on this site but I will shortley and than I will be back.

Just looked at airfare for us on this sailing. These crazy prices are messing up my trip!! We were going to do Disney before the cruise for 4 nights now here is our lovely schedule. 2 nights disney, 3 nights cruise, and then 2 nights cruise after. Pack unpack pack unpack. Yuck yuck yuck

Hi everyone. I know that it has been a long time since I posted that we were sailing on this cruise and for that I am sorry:guilty:. You can chalk it up to senioritiss, I just don't seam to be able to remember to do the things I want to do:rolleyes1. We are looking forward to this cruise:cool1:, I wish the Moore schools were going to a year round school year as are the OKC schools for this year, then I would be able to schedual time with the girls:thumbsup2.

I am sure that the girls will want to participate in the FE exchange. We have done this in the past and had a lot of fun with it:woohoo:. Hopefully I will be able to get the grils to help me make the gifts during the summer:lmao:.

This will be the girls 2nd DC, they said that they they wanted to go again.
we have done the parks several times and always had a great time. The girls did not seam to enjoy the parks as much the last time we went (It was a trip that my daughter (their mother):sad2: had planned and she did not make it to take the trip with us. Since then we have been crusing. It makes a nice change of pace.

As for me I plan to veg out, I love being on the ship (that is enough for me);).I know that Caitlin is looking foeward to the slide, she is really into water. Bethanie is more like her mother she doesn't do anything that will disturb her hair or nails. I am sure that once she gets herself out of bed she will be in the teen club. I am not sure that any of us will get off the ship in Nassua but ofcourse we will at Cast a Way Cay:yay:.

How large has our group? I am sure that Michelle will post sometime in the near future, I am rather supprised that she hasn't already. She is the computer person in this family and is usually one to get on first:surfweb:. I am planning on booking at least one cruise while we are on board, maybe more:rolleyes1. Can you tell that I like cruising? This will be my 7th cruise (5 on Disney) I hope to be able to sail on the Magic out of Galveston next spring:dance3:, and then maybe on the Fantaisy next December:cheer2:.

Well I have to go now hopefully I will be back soon, talk to you all soon.

We had to make a change in our cabins. When I finally looked closely at them I saw that our cabins were on oposite sides of the ship (not good). So I asked my TA to see what she could do. The only cabins left were Veranda rooms at an increase in cost:sad2:. I decided to be a very generous mother and grandmother and will be paying the additional cost:wizard:. Our cabins are on deck 9 now 9052 & 9054 they are connecting rooms. Caitlin had wanted an inside room for the vertuial porthole but I geuss she will just have to suffer with the veranda:dance3:.
I will talk with Michelle today about the FEs. I am sure that we will be joining in with this. I just looked at the clock and I will be late for lunch if I don't leave now. Back later.

Kinda a bummer and kinda cool. I really like the verandah's. Even UFO don't use them as much as I'd like.

I have added us to the FE list. We are in 2 cabins, 9052 & 9054. Now that I have made it finale all have to do is make the Fes for 2 cabins and deceide what I will give and get the gifts made. I will probably ship the gifts to the port before the cruise. I have found that this is usually the eaiest way to handle things. It is a good thing that I have all summer to work on them. Now I need to sign off and get some sleep so I can go to work tonight.
