My wedding was all pink. If you look at some of the pictures in my TR - Laura from the florist used pink hydrangeas but blue ones would be really really pretty!!!!
As soon as your dress arrives post pictures!!!!
We went with Lilly Pulitzer dresses because I wanted something that the girls could really wear again (and I am a Lilly fanatic..). But there are so many cute dresses out there you could do pink with blue accessories/sashes or vice versa. Can't wait to see what you have in mind!!

I really would not worry too much. I would just have them wear what they want. I am sure that they will say they want to wear what you want them to wear but still I would just let them pick.

you have to upload them to photobucket or a similar website. Then you click on the IMG URL and copy it. Then in the thread message you click on the little picture icon with the mountains and the sun and paste your IMG code there. Just be careful not to have 2 http://s. Voila it should work. :thumbsup2

Congrats, Kristen! I'm happy to stumble upon your PJ. I am planning a wedding at WP/WH for September 13, 2010 (5pm ceremony). We are also expecting ~40 guests, just like you. And, we really, really want to do one large table, but I am starting to worry about the expense. Our planning session isn't until June 3, so I won't have any estimates for a while. It makes it very difficult to plan! Another coincidence = our colors are also going to be blue and pink (turquoise, pale aqua, and fuscia pink). I can't wait to hear more about your plans.

I just saw the pics of your dress and bridesmaid dresses. Lovely! What designer? I am starting to think we must have similar tastes. The bodice of my gown is quite a bit like yours (Jasmine, Style T345), but different skirts. My maid of honor is wearing B2, Style B2032, color "Bahama Breeze" - also similar to one of your dresses.
Our planner is Karen Heyn. We've only spoken by phone once, but I've read some positive reviews here, so that is reassuring. I sent her a lot of feedback about our menu requests in hopes that we could do some of the fine-tuning before we arrive for our planning session/tasting. She didn't seem very interested in working on this prior to our session, so we'll see. Rev. Kevin Knox is our officiant and we booked David and Vicki Arndt for photography. What other plans have you made so far? Can't wait to hear more!

Just tuning in...Congrats!!! I think your dress looks amazing and ur bridesmaids are going to look beautiful in their dresses.
If you think Disney Floral is expensive I would try getting an outside florist...I would recommend Debbie from Atmospheres Floral, she is amazing and her prices are even more amazing. Plus, she would do a mock up of your centerpieces and ceremony decor at your reception venue (that's what she is doing for us at the whitehall Room).
Here's her website...http://www.atmospheresfloral.com/

I was sitting down for that haha It does seem like a lot, but you are getting a lot of floral for it. Do you think you will cut things out of it? I think that there is room to trim if you need to, if not, you are going to have fabulous floral!! It is going to look beautiful!!

I think that you need to change (or not change) whatever you want! I know that throughout this planning, at times I have felt like they will think that I'm cheap if I cut certain things, but in the end, it is our day and I am only keeping the things that we really want. If something is important to you, and you have the budget for it, keep it. If not, then go ahead and cut it.
I don't think that your changes are too much though. Some of the areas you cut were areas that I thought would be easiest to save money on (i.e. going from $400 to $200 on aisle petals - they will still be there, just less of them). You did quite well with your cutting though I must say, you brought it down quite a bit.
Just make sure that in the end, you do whatever makes you happy!:)

05-20-2010, 11:22 AM
I was sitting down but almost fell out of my chair, lol...
I really think you should try getting a quote with an outside florist, i bet you can get everything you want for $3500 or less, even though disney does to a great job, i just think for that kind of money you can spend it towards something else.
My flowers, chiavari chairs and linens are costing a total of $3500.00, all using an outside vendor.

I have a few concerns about using an outside vendor.
1. Our miniumu is $12,000, the beo I have for the food, drinks, and ceremony should be about $10,600, so I have that extra money before I get to the minimum.
2. are they ok with using a outside floral? Can I go half and half...?
Does the $10,600 include transportation and your DJ?
Disney will always rather have you give them the money but they are okay with you using outside vendors aslong as you meet your minimum. Once you meet their minimum you can use any outside vendor for your wedding. Our ceremony will be at the WP and reception at the Whitehall Room and we are using outside vendors and according to my coordinator we are perfectly capable of using local vendors.

Everything looks great. I just wanted to pass on a few cost cutting things we did.
It looks like you are having Disney make your menu cards. I made out invitations and made our menu cards. I just used cardstock from Cards and Pockets - matted them on black matting used red ribbon that I had purchased for our invitations and a added a little square with our Mickey and Minnie logo on them. I also made our table number cards. I purchased the frames at CVS (buy one get one 1/2 price sale). The were offwhite with crystals on them that looked like they formed a Hidden Mickey. I just printed off a 4 x 6 card with the number on it. I used the same font as our menu cards in the same color red.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q136/lpizzuro123/MistyBefore-Formal-Bonus479.jpg
We did not use cards telling everyone where to sit. I had ordered these boxes and put a Lenox Mickey Ears Ornament in it. I decorated the box with the same red ribbon and made a card with the peoples name and table number they were sitting at.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q136/lpizzuro123/MistyBefore-Formal-Bonus502.jpg
I also used the Rose Wand with 3 roses for my girls. We figured we were in Disney and where else can you get away with a wand. We are also all over 45 and they loved them and did not feel they were too young for them.

Kristen, you and I are bound to cross paths at some point this September. Our itineraries and plans are just too similar! We will be at Ohaha for Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner on Sunday night, then as you know, the Wedding/Reception on Monday. I shared your BEO with my fiance at lunch today (trying to prepare him for sticker shot as our planning session isn't for another two weeks). He and I both really, really want to use that O table in the Whitehall Room, but it's hard for us to justify the expense. I think we should ask DFTW to split the cost between us since we will be in there on back-to-back nights. It's not like they would have to move it in between events :)
Anyway, nice job on all of your planning! I appreciate reading about your ideas (and everyone else's on this board). I am excited to start making some progress soon on our plans.
Oh, one more question... did you planner say if they can do speciality linens for the O-table, or do they only come in white? I'm leaning toward using an outside vendor for the linens and am wondering what size they use on that funky table!

I absolutely love the rounded horseshoe table. It was one of the first things I saw online when we were first considering a Disney wedding and I loved it immediately. It is so beautiful and intimate! And I think your flowers will be fine. The pictured table has a lot of flowers and I don't think that many are needed - but I'm not really a flower person.
We are doing a lot of the same ADR's too. Probably will work out to be on different days though. We are doing CRT on the 10th (but for breakfast), O'hanas is the 11th I think, and Le Cellier at somepoint lol

Alright I have made reservations at the Coral Reef Restaurant Sat 9/11/10 for 4pm and we will hang and watch illuminations after! It is so hard to make reservations for a big group of people! I called O'Hana yesterday and still no call back. We are hoping to do the rehearsal dinner there!
Coral Reef and illuminations will be wonderful! I am not a big seafood person so we don't eat there, but the ambiance is great! O'hana is one of my favourites though - the food is great, I love the Poly, and Lilo & Stitch are great! Do you not have a travel agent? Mine booked all of our ADR's for us so it was much less stress for me!

Should I wait more????
Oooo engagement photos on the beach! Are you going to post them when you get them? Good luck with the dress fitting! It will be a ton of fun.
How long have you waited for O'Hanas? I would give them a little time, but not too much, you don't want to miss out on getting your ADR. Keep calling if you have to.

ok so the dilemma of the day... a bridal shower. My mom wants to throw me a bridal shower, but i believe the etiquette is no showers. Once we come back from Disney we are having a "Celebration of Marriage" at our house and inviting about 200, it is going to be a cook out atmosphere with food and drinks. A casual time so we can enjoy it. What does everyone think?
We're having the same dilemma, so I'd love to hear what other people have to say!
DF's grandmother REALLY wants to throw me a shower, but we're not inviting these people to the wedding...I think I'm just going to let her decide. We're doing the cook out thing when we come back too.
I realize traditionally you don't invite people to the shower who aren't invited to the wedding, so that was my initial reaction when she brought it up. But she looked heartbroken lol.
pink_tink8i8
06-13-2010, 12:57 PM
Well the etiquette is that guests invited to the wedding are invited to the shower but if somebody is throwing you one and people are going to come I would let it happen it's not like you are planning your own shower.

I don't know how I missed your PJ, but just getting caught up and I love all your details so far. I really like the second table option. Lol, I had the same experience when I got my BEO, I think they were charging me over $2k to rent candelabras, I'm using an outside florist and I got everything I wanted but for much less. You can use both Disney and an outside florist. We have Disney doing the Pre-reception centerpieces which is also be at the dessert party and it's not a problem.
Your hair and make-up look great! I love the work Impressions does. It's definitely okay to mix different designs. Can she alter the castle image to include stars? Maybe instead of the mickey heads it could be starbursts? That way you get all the graphics you want but they tie in a little more.

I do really love those big tables, but personally, I couldn't justify spending 1800$ on getting a table. I have seen the Whitehall Room decorated a bunch of different ways, and it always looks beautiful - so no matter what you do, it is going to look great!
It is getting to the point now where you really realize how many little things need to be done. How are you doing with everything? Are you making progress with music? DF and I worked on ours a few nights ago and it proved to be more difficult than I thought it would be.
Narcoossee's sounds like a great location for a rehearsal dinner - enjoy! I can't wait to read about it when we come back!

I personally think welcome bags are a nice touch even if it is just family.
You could do something simple like:
1. bottled water with a personalized wrapper or a hanging tag like hotel's do with your wedding monogram or logo. Make the wrapper/tag in advance then buy the water bottles and assemble there.
2. candy bar with personalized wrapper or some other kind of food for them to snack on late at night
3. aspirin pouch with saying "because sometimes all of that magic hurts a little"
You don't have to spend a lot of money making them and on what you put in them, but I guarantee they will be appreciated and loved. An inexpensive solid colored gift bag with a diecut Mickey head for the tag with the guests name on it would work if you need to pinch pennies.
If money is no object include a small bottle of champagne or wine and plastic wine/champagne glasses.
Go check out the Dollar Tree as they have a ton of Disney things that might be fun to add to a bag/basket, especially for the rooms with kids.
Have "what are you celebrating pins" made for everyone.
Snacks...cheese & peanut butter crackers, nuts, candy, etc.
Check out this thread on the creative boards as there are lots of great ideas for things to make...there is a post somewhere on the thread for things to add to a gift basket:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2179996&highlight=gift+basket

We had our wedding on Monday and it was everything we dreamt it would be and more. I hope yours was every bit as fabulous! Congratulations!

I hope you had an amazing wedding!
I was wondering if you knew where your Mom got those flutes from?
