I am in shock

I found out that a dear old friend of mine passed away this past December. I just found out on Saturday! I had not talked to him for a few years (I got married, he got married, I moved, we lost touch), and I found out through Facebook (a pretty impersonal way to find out!).
He took his own life. :sad1: I am in complete shock. He was married and had three kids. I knew he had issues with depression, but I never realized how bad it was. He helped me out through some pretty tough times. I'm just so stunned that this happened! I thought he was one of those guys that would be around "forever". My heart goes out to his family.

So sorry to hear about your friend, it must be a very diffiuclt for all his family and friends. The loss of someone to suicide is so tragic.

It is very tough. I can't even fathom what his family is going through.
The past couple of days have been better for me, but I still think about it a lot.

Glad you are feeling a little better, I think it is something that will always leave people with lots of questions and so few answers.

My sister works with a man who lost his son to suicide many years ago and the dad still struggles with trying to understand what happened. It's all those "what ifs" that people find so difficult.
