My friend just told me that Tough To Be a Bug is closing. Not that it would surprise me but we were just there last week and heard nothing about this.
Anyone hear anything?

I have also heard nebulous reports that ITTBAB will be closing and a new "Disneynature" themed movie will replace it. The story goes that Bug scares the bejeebers out of little kids and a nature movie will be more in line with the AK theme.
Personally, I love Bug. It's clever and funny and I always make my companions see it at least twice on any given AK day. I'll be sad if these rumors do come true.

I love ITTBAB, so I'm just going to assume that this isn't true. The last thing this park needs is a nice, gentle nature movie.

I haven't even seen ITTBAB, but I definitely agree with this statement.

Haven't heard anything about this rumor...
but I guess I wouldn't be heartbroken if they got rid of it. It's cute, but I guess a change there wouldn't be so bad either.....

I enjoy ITTBAB very much, but it did scare my little sister on our last trip, but has not scared her before. I like ITTBAB as is, but wouldnt really be opposed to a change.

Big deal some lil kids got scared,,:lmao: No reason to close it, if my kids got scared, I would drag them in there until they where not scared anymore.:thumbsup2 Thats whats wrong with America, turning into a bunch of weaklings with no back bone. Baby them kids to much ,they will learn to get pushed around in this mean world, make them strong, grow up with some bumps and blood, my moto,,,"Shut you will live!" now get up and try again! :cool1:

Was this from a Jungle Cruise Captain or a Bus Driver? They are the best source of rumors.

That is ridiculous if they change ITTBAB because it scares the kids, Honey I Shrunk the Audience is alot scarey to kids but they aren't talking about changing that.

Well, they finally seem to be accepting the idea that Fastpass is pretty much useless at ITTBAB...so maybe.... :)

I love the attraction! I can see it again and again, and hope they aren't changing, but it does scare little kids.
When my son was 4 years old, we made the mistake of sitting right in front of the grasshopper animatron. He was petrified of that puppet! Two years ago, my nephew was scared senseless by the spiders.
I think it's cute-funny-scary like the Haunted Mansion, but small kids don't always take it that way.

Boo! I'll be really bummed if they take out ITTBAB. I love, love it, one of my favorite attractions at AK.

But then we still miss Alien Encounter.

Honey I shrunk the Audience should be the 3-D movie that should be getting replaced, that movie is older than old.Muppetvision 3-D is also pretty old but most people still enjoy it.I like ITTBAB,but wouldn't go crazy if they changed it if it's replacement was as good or better, the description of a nature film doesn't sound that enticing though. The only 3-D movie that's untouchable for at least the next decade is Philharmagic, that's the best of the bunch and nobody can deny that.

"We're Pollinator's! Pollinator's!!!!!!!"
Haha! I sing that every time I see a bumble bee. I haven't heard anything and I hope it's not true. It may seem evil but I tend to have a smile on my face while watching all the little kids scream hysterically at the spiders. :rotfl2:
I don't know many little kids but I went with one of my coworkers granddaughters who was 7ish, and after the fog cleared she wasn't in her seat and I started freaking out thinking she had split and I missed it, but she was hunched over on the floor having a mini panic attack.
I love seeing the bugs so I don't want it to change.

I agree that HISTA is the worst 3-D attraction, but I don't think ITTBAB is up to Disney par. Muppets and Philharmagic are spectacular shows. ITTBAB doesn't match the quality of those. Its okay, but I think Disney can do better, so I'm in favor of replacing it or just upgrading the quality.

......it would be like closing Tower of Terror or Pirates of the Caribbean because the atmosphere frightens children........
I love ITTBAB. It's always a must-do when I visit AK. I really hope this is just a rumor.

I would be sad if it closed. I think it should be re-done. I think they can still have it be a fun and take out some of the scarier parts.

I suggest a nice true life nature movie like Simba chasing down Bambie and eating his insides out while he is still alive!!!! Now that's nature at it's finest.

I did read in the 2010 Unofficial Guide that it would be closing.
Actually it says that "Imagineer's are looking into replacing this Bug's Life inspired film with a new Disneynature sponsored 3-D..."
So it doesn't sound like anything is set in stone.

But not all rides are for all people-just because Everrest makes me view my stomache lining doesn't mean it needs to go- many others enjoy it. I'd hate to see this changed- it's adorable.

Lol if im honest - ITTBAB even scared me - but i loved it probably more because it was able to scare me!
I would be a little dissapointed if this was to go, I think it is entertaining and also it still has a nice educational message - be nice to the bugs :goodvibes

I would really like to see another 3-D show changed first before ITTBAB! I really enjoy ITTBAB and its a show that I look forward to when I'm at AK:goodvibes. I think HISTA would be the show to change or replace because of how old it is. Just a little side note;... If your going to change a show just because its scary why aren't we talking about Dinosaur:confused3????!!! I really enjoy Dinosaur too and don't want it changed but that ride is way more scary for little children (check out the pictures you can buy after the ride:laughing::laughing:)!!!!!!
Have a magic day everyone!:wizard:

I doubt this can be true. With all the special effects and the two animatronics used in the shows, especially Hopper, they wouldn't want to spend the money on replacing it so soon.
I'm not the biggest fan of the show, I sit on the edge of my seat everytime because I hate getting stung and everything. I'm a wimp :rotfl: I've seen it so many times too, you'd think I'd get over it.
