This story just popped up in the UK press:
"Suicides shock France's Disney park" - focus is mostly on union claims of "overly stressful" working conditions at EuroDisney.

Maybe I am looking at it wrong however if its that bad shouldn't the union be doing something to improve things... after all isn't that what they are for?
Find another job or kill myself.... hmmm now that is a hard choice isn't it

Not being mean but my boss makes me figure out how to do more with less every day. I think suicide has nothing to do with Disney. Millions of people work for companies and bosses that are demanding, rude, etc. No one is making someone stay at Disney.

That is totally nonsense.
A friend of mine works in Disney Paris and it is a normal place to work with common rules.
The problem is the French government forces Disney to hire people with problems. Drug addicts, long term work less people and people that can't get a job on the normal work market because they have "problems".
So they get a very large amount of "weak" characters. Most of them even don't want to work at all.
The problem with France Telecom is that this company was owned by the state and the work moral was "French State" norm.
Now Telecom is in private hands and for the first in there work history they have to work on a normal base. No more special threats no more lunches up to three hours, no more full retirement pension at the age off 55. French government employees are very very pampered. Realty kicked in. Many of them cant deal with the world outside.
