No "private" balcony at GF in Stardard view rooms??

We are considering GF for our trip in JAN(if AP rate are this good,;) :. When I read Deb Wills FAQ on the GF it had mention no private balconies on garden view rooms? Are these balconies like AKL , one long balcony but divided b/w rooms? Any suggestions for garden view building, floor and room number appreciated.

They are long balconies with dividers on the lower floors. The top floor dormer rooms do have a private balcony. Conch Key, marina view, fourth floor is my preference for a garden view. :)

Thanks CaliD! I just got done reading you FAQ thread and have to say the dormer rooms sound intriguing. WE will need 2 rooms, do you think it's possible to get 2 connecting Domer rooms? Are they mostly smoking? How bad do you think they smell of smoke??

Actually, it seems all rooms are now designated non-smoking. I took a walk around all the floors in each of the buildings, and they all have a "designated non-smoking floor" sign on them. :) Smoking is allowed on the balconies.

About the connecting rooms. I have never seen connecting doors in a dormer room, but that's not to say that there aren't any. Most of the regular rooms (the ones on the lower floors) do connect to another room. :)
