Okay, so I figured it was about time I made my first pre trip report. :cool1:

Cast:
There's me, Louise (20). An absolute Disney nut. Loves pretty much everything Disney has ever produced pre 2000. Post 2000, not so much (though I did like Lilo and Stitch).
4th visit to DLP, 7th Disney holiday.
Favourite princess: Aurora

Laura (21) and my absolute best and oldest friend who has been away this entire academic year studying in Canada but is back end of April :yay: . Doesn't like the movies much, but loves DLP.
3rd visit to DLP & Disney holiday.
Favourite princess: Ariel

Ami (20), Laura's sister. Being so close in age we've always been close to each other. Loves the Disney renaissance movies.
2nd visit to DLP & Disney holiday
Favourite princess: Jasmine

James (21), Ami's boyfriend. Don't know much about him tbh but apparently he wants to do all the rides. By default, being Ami's bf this makes him Aladdin whether he wants to be or not.

When: 17th - 20th May 2010

Travelling direct on the Eurostar (because it was cheaper than transferring at Lille :confused3)
Staying at the Sequoia Lodge, which is exciting as I've never stayed here before.

Now we just need to decide where we want to eat... hmmm
Off to do some review reviewing :surfweb:

If you have some extra cash in a sock somewhere you should eat with the princesses at Auberge de Cendrillon.

Agrabbah Cafe is my absolute favourite :)

Thanks guys, truth be told I haven't done much restaurant review reading yet. Too busy making silly pictures in honour of the trip. :goodvibes

We're also planning on staying overnight in London in a youth hostel close to St Pancras, but James doesn't want to stay in one because aparently he is a snob. :snooty:
After much banter, I finally came up with the idea to tell him it is just like a hotel, just with an S which stands for supercalifragulisticexpelidotious in the middle. Somehow this worked and is reconsidering.
Reconsidering what I'm not sure, probably the whole idea of coming with us! :lmao:

Aww my first ever subscriber :goodvibes

Instead of reading restaurant reviews and planning this is what I have been spending my time doing, drawing this:

I think it's time to step away from the Disney...
or maybe in a few years. After I've visited all the Disney parks. 2011 Disneyland California here I come! :tinker:

Oh I love DL I live only six hours drive from there! :) I went there so many times last year. It was kind of crazy but I'm only going one time this year for my B-DAY I hope read the planning for that one!

Paid my last bit of money off today. :yay:

Been discussing where we'd like to eat and a trip to Cafe Mickey is a must, and Auberge is a possibility - what's the interaction with the princesses and their princes like if you're a table of young adults?

Also found out James doesn't mind what we do as long as he gets to meet Winnie the Pooh. :confused3 Where's the best place to meet Pooh?

Oooh it's getting close, my ticker is almost on just weeks now! :cool1:

Woo hoo!!:cool1:

There is a meet & greet for Pooh at the end of Main Street but be warned the queues are massive! Worth it though if it's him must-do of the trip! :thumbsup2

We love Auberge with our DD but no experience of adults only, pretty sure the princesses would make a big fuss of your prince though!! :rotfl:

We've narrowed down our choices, though I know Cafe Mickey is a must do. :goodvibes

Restaurants being considered include:
Rainforest Cafe
Agrabah Cafe
Blue Lagoon
Annettes
Lucky Nugget Saloon
Silver Spur Steakhouse
Planet Hollywood
and Auberge de Cendrillion

Day one (we arrive 13.30):
Agrabah Cafe for late (ish) lunch
Rainforest Cafe for dinner

Day two
Blue Lagoon for early (ish) lunch
Cafe Mickey for dinner (if we can!)

Day three
Auberge for lunch or Lucky Nugget depending on if we decide to do Auberge or not.
Annette's for late dinner

Day four
Snack around lunchtime from any kiosk/CS around
Silver Spur Steakhouse for (very) late lunch/early dinner before going home!

What do you think of this food plan? Which restaurants will I need reservations for? When should I make the reservations, now or when I get there?

In light of recent events (losing one of my 2 jobs), chances are I won't get to eat at a some of the places mentioned previously (gotta save money and all that).
Therefore this is an updated list of what our meals could look like:
Day one
lunch
Market House Deli (those baguettes others have mentioned sound good!)
Dinner
Rainforest Cafe

Day two
lunch
make up a sandwich at breakfast to take into parks with us.
snack with some of that yummy popcorn mid afternoon
Dinner
Cafe Mickey (if we can) - get two pizzas to share between the 4 of us.

Day three
lunch
Res De Stars
Dinner
Annettes

Day four
lunch
pizza planet buffet
Dinner
CS in the park before heading off.

Not too long now! :wizard:

Sorry to hear that  but I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much, and it gives you something to look forward to on your next trip! :rotfl2:

Have you noticed how much of our trip planning revolves around the food?!! My Mum & I have spent hours reading menus and reviews! :surfweb:

As you say, not too long now! :wizard: I love this bit of being excited - before all the really hard work of packing has to be done!! :lmao:

I've been working on this http://loodlesnoodles.deviantart.com/art/Disney-montage-162363824 for a little while now. It's for my upcoming trip. I want to get it reproduced and give one to everyone going (A3 poster size). I worked really hard on this and I'm super pleased with how it turned out. :goodvibes

There ended up being about 6 pictures I didn't use so I'll probably make a smaller one and take it with us to the parks and get a few characters to sign it. :mickeyjum

I swear I already answered your post Mum to Belle, but about a month altogether. :goodvibes

Just got a reservation for Cafe Mickey for the Tuesday at 6.30! :cool1:
Though I forgot to order a birthday cake for Ami,:headache: can you still book them once you get there?

Met James for the first time over the weekend, seems really nice and is enthusiastic about all things Disney - we will get along famously!

Not long to go now, eeeep!!

Edit: I currently have a hat wars game going on with a friend of mine (I'm winning, but only just) so I currently have a plan of trying on as many fun hats as possible whilst at Disney. :)

Just got back from my trip!
Highlights include Cafe Mickey, meeting Woody, Crush, and Pirates.

I'll make a small start but I don't have any photos uploaded yet, so this will be updated. Promise :goodvibes

Day One:
We decided that we would start our adventure the day before, and spend the night in the St Pancras Youth Hostel so we got the train to London after James had driven to MK from Oxford after he had finished work so we left at about 6ish. Walked from Euston to the Youth Hostel (about 5-10 mins) and settled into the Youth Hostel when Laura realised she had forgotten her tooth brush so Laura and I set off to find a Boots in the train station as well as have a mooch about to see where we could find to eat that evening. We decided on Nando's, which was a good choice. We went over to Nando's at about 8ish after playing a mean game of Apples to Apples (best game ever!). We had a short game after dinner too before turning in as we had to be up early next day!

Day Two:
We got up at 7.00 and got ready and sorted before walking over to the station, checked in and through by 8.30. We sat and had a tea in the cafe before boarding (what felt like super fast) and then we were off! We were in leisure select going out and it was glorious! So much space!
Here's Ami proving how much space http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/IMG_0326.jpg
Laura and I http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/IMG_0328.jpg
and James being a massive loser watching a film on his iphone http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/IMG_0329.jpg
And we got breakfast too, croissant, bread, mini pots of cherry jam, yoghurt and juice, plus tea, coffee and hot chocolate and a mushroom crepe, sausage and something else.
We got to Marne Le Vallee at 1.30ish and headed straight to check in at Sequoia Lodge. Whilst checking in, Minnie Mouse surprised us! She looked cute in the same outfit as the SL uniform. After regrouping to find out where we needed to go, she came up to us again and got the guy to say what times our breakfasts were for and mimed that she would be asleep at 7am when we would be eating breakfast.
Our room was in Yosemite Lodge, overlooking the car park. It was a nice enough room and plenty big enough for the four of us. My only complaint was that the only English channels we had were the top 10 countdown show thing and playhouse Disney. I would have appreciated a regular Disney Channel in English too.

...to be continued!

We sorted ourselves out in the hotel room quickly and wandered down to the parks by about half 2. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/IMG_0330.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/IMG_0340.jpg
Laura and I quickly popped into City Hall to pick up a birthday badge for Ami
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/IMG_0345.jpg
and we all headed off for Phantom Manor. Queue was at 5 mins, great!! As we got near the doors we were taking pictures and James sent a picture message of Big Thunder Mountain to his mum and Ami ended up seeing some picture of another girl on his phone and ran off. So we chased after her and James and I ended up losing them. After 10 minutes of trying to get through to either of them we finally found Laura and had to try to find Ami. She was sitting in Fantasyland by the Auberge.
Whilst James and Ami talked things through, Laura and I did some photos.

We then went to get some candy floss for us and some still tropical fanta for Ami (to cheer her up). As we were queuing to get the candy floss Ami and James showed up and had patched things up.

Ami wanted to do Big Thunder Mountain so we wandered back to Frontierland and popped under the castle to finally see the dragon on the way! Queue for BTM was 25 mins, we were on in 20. After BTM we went back over to Phantom Manor and managed to ride it this time.
Hat time: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/IMG_0371.jpg
We then walked over to Adventureland next and walked through Aladdin's enchanted passage before heading over to do Pirates. We all made pirate faces for the photo.

Ami was brave and suggested we do Indy next so we made our way over. Ami wanted to sit next to Laura so I sat next to James, we were at the very front. Just before the loop I could feel my glasses slipping off so had to quickly take them off and hold them! Argh! From then on any big rides I took my glasses off.
After Indy, Laura and I did some epic hat pictures.

We got to the castle just as they were getting ready for the Showtime Spectacular so we decided to wait and watch that. It was very cute!

We were all rather knackered and hungry after this, so we made our way out of the park and decided we wanted to eat at Annette's. We were sat down straight away as it was still only just before 6pm. I had the chilli bean burger, Ami had an onion burger, Laura had a rock n roll burger and James had a mini incredible burger. Food here was really good, I loved my burger. We had a quick look in the shops, I got some pins and Laura and I bought Ami a birthday Stitch, before heading back to the hotel for showers, playhouse disney and bed.

Up next, day three! ....

Day three:

James woke us up at 7.30am after two sets of alarms failed to go off at the correct time so we rushed down to breakfast in pretty much just our pj's, we must have looked a site! After breakfast we went back to the room to get ready for our first full day at the parks. The sun was already shining, was going to be a good day!
We were in the park by 8.45 and managed to have our first Buzz game, I lost. We also went on It's a Small World :cloud9: , the teacups, Peter Pan and Space Mountain (it was so smooth!). After Space Mountain we wandered over to Frontierland and started to queue at Woody's Roundup Villiage to meet big W himself. It was supposed to open at 11.15, we started queuing at 10.45, we were the 3rd group to go through and the gate opened at 11.50 with very little information as to what was going on. :confused3
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/30264_398524517727_592962727_404615.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/30264_398524527727_592962727_404615.jpg
We met Goofy, Mickey and Woody here though so it was worth it as I thought it was just for Woody/Jesse. (Pictures still to come!)
After this, we wandered over to Main Street, to get a hot dog from Casey's where we ran into a short(ish) queue for Winnie the Pooh, with whom James just had to get a picture. So I waited in the queue with James whilst Laura and Ami went to get our food. We were in the queue for about 15-20 mins and we were chatting to a lovely family behind us. James got his picture and we headed over to where Laura and Ami were sitting with our hot dogs. I had one with cheese, it was gooood! :goodvibes

After lunch we headed over to the Studios and went to ride Crush straight away, queue was saying 40 mins, we would have been on in about 20 had the ride not broke right when we were 2 shells away from getting on! We decided to wait it out since we were so near the front and in the end we were given passes to come back later. On our way out we found Buzz doing meet and greets, we got a group photo which Laura and I both bought. We then decided to do Rock n Rollercoaster and got the Dude looks like a lady train, next up was Tower of Terror and Ami came on with us! She didn't enjoy it very much, she found it boring?!?! But she came on with us each time we went on it.
After ToT we went to watch Cinemagique but didn't tell James what was going on.
we headed straight back over to Crush and had to go through the back entrance. Lots of fun, Crush is arguably my favourite ride.
We did ToT and RnR a few more times and some shopping (I found a Bernard!!!!!:yay:) before heading out of the Studios around closing and headed straight over for our 6.30 Cafe Mickey reservation.

We arrived a little early and were seated upstairs, it was still pretty quiet when we arrived and our food arrived quickly (before our drinks even!). Characters started coming round not long after we were seated. We saw Chip n Dale, Eeyore, Gepetto, Goofy, Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, Mr Smee and Stitch. After the waiter took our plates he asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu, at which I mentioned as slyly as I could that we had actually ordered a cake, which was difficult as Ami was sitting opposite me so she found out that way. He looked a bit bewildered and panicky. He went back to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later to ask who it was for, and a few minutes later music started playing and Ami was pulled up onto the stagey bit between the two sides of the restaurant to dance to respect, which was funny and I got some great pictures. About 15 minutes after this, birthday music started playing and then it stopped as Mickey motioned that he was not ready. He was a bit busy with some kids on the other side. 5 minutes later, different birthday music suddenly started blasting and over came our waiter, with the cake and Mickey bouncing over, along with Mr Smee who danced around our table. Ami was super happy and she got special birthday hugs and kisses with Mickey. The cake was nice, chocolate and had a Mickey's Magical Party Time icing thing.
It was definitely a worthwhile time!

We left just after 8.30pm, and headed back for the hotel. We dumped our stuff in our room and headed over to the bar where Ami had a redwood cocktail and Laura had a nice to meet you (??). I had an amaretto and cranberry juice whilst James had a beer. We headed back to the room for around 9.45 and got ready for bed at 10.30ish

Day Four up next!!

LoodlesNoodles

Day four

We woke up at 6.30 as agreed this morning, got ready and headed down for breakfast at about 7.10 and chatted about what we wanted to do that day. We decided to do extra magic hours at Disneyland and then head over to Studios just before 10.
We got into Disneyland Park at 8.45 and had round 2 of Buzz wars! I was sitting with Ami today (winner plays winner, loser plays loser, me and Ami both lost day before). We were happy just spinning and getting our low score but having way more fun than Laura and James. I won this round, somehow. Tripling even Laura and James' scores, I must have hit a difficult one at some point. :confused3
We all went on Space Mountain quickly, still fun but a bit more shaky than the day before and headed round to do Peter Pan quickly. After this we headed straight out of the park and were in Studios by 9.55. We headed round to rock n rollercoaster and rode that 3 times in a row, :lovestrucv love that coaster!! We then went on ToT before going to do the Car stunt show (try saying that fast, but not around children :rolleyes1) as this is Ami's favourite. It was alright, wouldn't personally want to watch it again to be honest, but then I'm not really into cars. Didn't help that we were in the shade so was freezing!
We grabbed some lunch at Blockbuster Cafe, I had a croque Monsieur thingy and a Mickey brioche.
After this we went to wait for Crush in a nice 45 minute queue :scared1:
By the time we were out of Crush it was time for Stars n Cars, so we decided to get a spot and wait and watch that. It was enjoyable, but it's not very well organised to watch.
After this finished and as the characters were starting to come round to pose for pictures and autographs we struggled out of the way and went on ToT quickly before going to watch my personal favourite, Animagique. It was just as good as I remembered it and had the song stuck in my head for the next few days.

After Animagique we headed back over to Disneyland park and did a few rides back over there, I think we did Indy, Pirates, Snow White, Pinocchio, and Star Tours (which was way more jerky than I remembered it being!). We did a bit of shopping and headed over to Planet Hollywood for dinner just before 7.
Dinner was good, I had the grilled tuscan chicken sandwich, Laura had the philly cheese steak sandwich, James had the turky club and Ami had grilled salmon. Ami bought the picture the lady took of us for 10euros.
After dinner we wandered slowly back to the hotel and I found my hand is the same size as Goldie Hawn's. Had a poke around the shop and then it was back to the hotel for showers and an early(ish) night.

Coming soon, Day five. Our last day! :sad1:

Day Five, our final day :sad1:

We woke bright and early and went down to breakfast before packing all our stuff and saying goodbye to comfy room. We left our stuff in the luggage room and handed in our keys and headed to the parks for our last day at Disney. Again, we were in the park for 9am. Headed straight for Buzz, the last of our tournament. James won this round. (Though that could be because I was playing Laura and I was spinning it the entire time. :rotfl:). We went on Space Mountain again, knocked us all about a bit and had a wander round to Fantasyland and posed for some pictures in front of the castle
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/30264_398525307727_592962727_404627.jpg
James gave us permission to go on It's a Small World again :woohoo: so we went on that.
Afterwards we went straight over to Studios and headed straight for Crush. It was at a 20 minute wait. :thumbsup2
After Crush we went on ToT and had a great cast member (I believe his name was Sam. He was hilarious.) We all had our hands in the air for the picture and so Laura bought it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/Dearest_X_Helpless/Disneyland%20Paris%20-%20May%202010/30264_398525572727_592962727_404631.jpg
We went over to RnR afterwards and rode that twice. Did you know they have an REM concert poster for when they played at Milton Keynes Bowl? Me niether! But we were super excited when we spotted it! Something from where I live in Disney?? Awesome stuff! So there's a picture of me pointing to the poster.

We did our best rock faces for the photo and James bought the picture.
This was me and Ami practising, I think she looks more like a pirate though!

We went back on ToT one last time, this time getting a woman who just sounded bored. (Why are the men so much better in this role than the women?) But it was the best algorithm we'd had all trip, lots of fun was had!
When we came out there were characters everywhere. Laura wanted her picture with Ariel but decided she wasn't 'Ariel' enough. :confused3 I was going to get my picture with Gaston but he ignored me so I gave up. We headed over to do Crush one last time but we were all feeling pretty monged out and the queue was at 45 mins so we decided to go eat.

Back to the main park we wandered, off to Agrabah Cafe! The themeing of this restaurant is excellent. Love how cute it is inside! Starters were really good, I especially enjoyed the chick peas and lentils. I didn't like the couscous, it had tuna in it! :headache: Mains were just okay. I can't remember anything I had here that really stands out as being good. And puddings were alright, though incorrectly labelled. I enjoyed the coconut pie.

After lunch we decided to head to Big Thunder Mountain and got fast passes before queueing for 20 minutes. By the time we were off it was time to use our fast passes! Hooray! Back on we went and sat right at the front this time! James flicked us all with water from when you go through the waterfall :scared1:

We were all feeling pretty knackered by this time so we went and got a drink and decided to catch the Mark Twain. I'd never done this before but it was lovely! We sat on the bottom deck in the sunshine. :goodvibes

Still feeling monged out we sat in Frontierland in the sunshine for a while, before James and I got restless. We decided to go do Pirates one last time and then Space Mountain. Pirates was pretty much a walk on, but only just, as there was a large group of about 30 kids heading there at the same time.:scared1:
Laura and Ami both decided to sit out on Space Mountain so off James and I went. Queue said 20 minutes, but it was more like 40. We had two little kids trying to push in front of as every 2 seconds, which was getting on my nerves. After we finally got on it was not worth the wait, as it was super painful. :sad2: So much for our good SM runs.
We headed out and joined up with Laura and Ami. James got his cigarettes out and almost immediately we were being harassed by these kids who looked no more than 8, literally. They wouldn't take no for an answer and tried to tell us they were 14 :rotfl: (in Bieber-land) and were arguing in what I think was Spanish that James should give them cigarettes before finally giving up, kicking a bin and jumping over the barriers to enter the SM queue (which was now only 10 mins, grr!).
We sat around here for a little while before heading off to the constellations store as I wanted the Stitch t shirt. We then headed for Main Street to do the last few bits of shopping before leaving. I got 2 cute cups for 5euros (as my brother loves my other Disney one so much I figured I'd get two!). We left the park at around 6.10 and slowly made our way back to the hotel to get our luggage.
Checked in at the eurostar no problems and found our seats easy enough. Shame we didn't have leisure select going back though, could have done with that extra space. There were no delays and were back in London on time. We walked back to Euston and rushed to get on the 9.40 train back to Milton Keynes, which of course was full so we sat in the corridor-y type bit on our luggage as we entertained ourselves by singing songs and replacing all words with 'James' and guessing what the song was. (James was busy watching a film on his iPhone and not caring about what was going on.) And we were home by 10.30pm and our Disney trip over! :guilty:

I'm glad I got to go to Disney again, but at the same time it's made me hungry for Florida, fingers crossed I don't have to cancel that trip!
Thanks for reading guys!

Absolutely wonderful report Louise!
Thanks so much for sharing. We will be going right after our Baltic cruise, so in about 3 weeks!
Thanks also for posting the dining reviews. Some of them are so old that I had doubts but yours really helped.
Hope you do get to go to WDW and you have a great time!
