In other news, Im waiting for my sales person to email me the LOA...Im so antsy, I check my blackberry every 2 minutes! :rolleyes1

I did the same thing when Stacey was sending me my LOA. I know I drove everyone nuts waiting for it. :rotfl:

So I check my BB- and there's an email! :cool1: So DF and I were going through the information needed to write up the LOA...and we're calculating things up and Im just shy under the 15K mark! Is it
supposed to be b4 or after taxes that you hit the minimum??? And in order to hit the 15K minimum, does it only have to be through Disney vendors?

The min is before before taxes and services charges and can only be certain vendors. For example, my dinner at Ohana and the tickets for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (close to a grand each) won't count towards a wedding minimum.

HTH!

if you plan a rehearsal or welcome dinner through Disney, does that count towards the minimums?
Only events held on the wedding day count towards the minimum. And there's a debate going around whether the MK shoot done on a different day counts. Some brides have been told yes, others no.

Congrats, everything looks great! I love the blue/green colors. I was going to go with just those but then had to go and throw some pink in there too.;)

We had a DP at UK lochside as well. We chose to not have a disney photographer, so I don't have any professional pics of the place, jsut some that our families took. It is set behind and to the right (if you're looking at the lagoon) of the Fish and chips place though, if that helps.

Hi and congratulations on deciding to have your dream Disney wedding! I really like the colors you've decided and I think they will look great in Ariel's. :thumbsup2 I'm another Sea Breeze Point/Ariel's bride, so I'm excited to see all of your plans unfold!

I'm curious to see what people suggest for welcome dinners too. My DF and I definitely want to have one (as long as we can fit it into the budget!) I think it's a really nice way to kind of kick start things as a group. And hey, it gives your guests another nice meal that they don't have to pay for! We're thinking of doing a rehearsal dinner at 'Ohana's the night before the wedding - a lot of our guests aren't Disney fanatics like us, and I think that place is a lot of fun and has a great atmosphere. I also like that it's a set price, so it's feasible to estimate how much the dinner would cost us.

Did you end up ordering that David's Bridal dress you posted??

Things looks great so far - love your colors and I think they will look great in Ariels. We had a buffet brunch and everyone love it - there was such a variety of food and and this way everyone can take whatever they want.

Just a word on your girls dresses - I have 3 girls and as we have all be friends for over 25 years I did not want to specify BM and MOH. I also told them they could pick out whatever dress they wanted as long as it was from the Alfred Angelo line in claret. You do see this quite alot now where everyone wears a different dress. Two girls chose short and one chose long. Here is a photo to see how it all went together.

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q136/lpizzuro123/2ef6fd66.jpg

One girl even went with a white and claret combo and I just loved it. They all wore silver sandals.

I don't remember the exact price of the dresses but they were all under $150.00 - but they were also purchased in March of 2008. As far as navy goes - just make sure if they get different dresses they are from the same line - there are so many different shades of navy.

I just found your PJ!! I LOVE everything! I am getting married at SBP and deciding between Ariel's and the Attic for a reception.

We got engaged at MK too! It was so !!

I understand the family thing. My parents are paying for everything, and DF family has told him they aren't giving us money for anything, including the normal things the groom's family are responsible for. :lmao:

I am excited to see what you decide to do with Ariel's. I will probably end up there because of numbers!!

Ive probably read every single thread on photography on the DIS boards...its weird because Ive never really thought much of it before. But now, I see some pictures that look awesome and I see other that look like some rooky took them, so idk.

Ive been going back and forth between Randy Chapman and David & Vicki Arndt. Chapman's prices beat Vicki by $150.00 which isnt that much so really it boils down to style. Then, I learned something important here on the boards: editing. I never knew that editing the photos was essentially an additional service. As far as I know, Chapman gives the pictures un-edited...I suppose I could pay the additional fee :scared: and have him beautify them. But I spoke with Vicki tonight and she said that editing is included in her price :thumbsup2...me likes that.

I think we're gonna go with the Arndts. Ive looked at their pictures on their facebook page and they look so dreamy :cloud9:...any thoughta by anyone???

I chose The Arndts because I love love love their style:love: and you get two photographers. While one is photographing the families, the other is getting photojournalism. I have been a BM and MOH in several DFTW and all my friends use David and Vicki for their wedding photography.:thumbsup2 The first time I saw one of their wedding albums, I cried and it wasn't even my wedding.:confused3 It was my friends wedding. Their albums are very modern and all the images are photoshopped but not over photoshopped if you know what I mean. If you love their style, like I do, in the end a few extra dollars is worth it and the pictures will be nicely edited.

HTH,
Suze:goodvibes

I'm getting my e-pic done this sunday with David and Vicki it was no question to me to choose them because of their work. I will post the pictures on my PJ when I get them and I also allowed them to use them for whatever they need so I'm sure you will see them on Facebook after they get them taken and upoaded. I can't wait to work with them!! I have asked Vicki a million questions and she has always replied within one day and always welcome to more!! I agree with you. Covered tatoos just look covered and make up doesn't really do the trick. Since it's a fairy, I think that's kind of cute. You could always ask your photographers to get some of the posed pictures without the tatoo.

Did you decide between The Arndts and Randy? I just got engaged on Easter, but I've been lurking on the boards for a long time. I've done a lot of research and I love The Arndt's style. I haven't booked them yet, but I'm 100% sure I want them to photograph my wedding.

Randy does edit the pictures. He told me he won't edit all 2000+ pictures but that a lot do get some sort or editing. And it's already included in the price. If you want certain pictures edited he told me to just ask.

Wow! That doesn't seem right that he didn't tell you about the special in the first place. What else isn't he telling you? It just seems a little desparate to me. Especially offering the special only after you sent the check to the Arndts. I think you should talk to Vicki and let her know what Randy did before you stop payment on a check. That would be right thing to do. She is so sweet and even offered a custom package to fit my budget. You do get two photographers with David and Vicki and remember the cheapest isn't always the BEST especially when it comes to your wedding pictures. I know Randy is a very good photographer, but I'm really questioning his integrity after this.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

We put down our deposit to hold the date with the Arndts. Then they sent us an invoice that had everything listed that we were getting in our package. It also showed our deposit on the invoice too. When we met with them in person we signed our contract. Vicki had offered to send the contract but I said I would just sign it when we got together to look at albums. It was almost the exact same thing as the invoice, only a little more official with everyone's signature. It states everything you get in your package that we knew from all the e-mails and all of our friends using them for their weddings.

We booked them for my parents surprise vow renewal. I just got engaged but haven't announced it to everyone on the Disboards yet. I think I want to do a PJ for my wedding and not my parents vow renewal. Both are going to be at Disney so I'm doing a lot of planning now. My Wedding will be in November of 2012. I'm just curious as to what Randy is offering for $1000. Is it just a DVD?

Ok...all caught up! :cutie: First, Congrats on going with your dream of a Disney wedding. Don't worry about the haters :cool2: b/c once they experience your wedding you'll be getting apologies! Your color scheme is great for Ariel's. Are you going to incorporate any other colors or just the navy/olive/cream? The BM's dresses are cute, vibrant, and fun. Perfect for a day wedding. Sorry about your BM's attitude about everything. She'll come around, but if she doesn't you can't let it stress you out. As far as her tat...:confused3...I know covering it can be a touchy subject with some people. A consolation is that it's on the correct (left) arm so during your ceremony it'll be facing crescent lake away from your guests and photog. :thumbsup2

Bongos is a great restaurant! Good Choice! And what a great price! I haven't been there in forever, but I love sitting upstairs. :goodvibes For your photographer situation I think you should go with your gut. If the only way for you to have the MK shoot is to book Randy than so be it. But, just be sure that you are making the best decision for you and your DF. You can always make more money to cover additional costs...you can't get back your wedding day.
Ok...enough of my rambling! I look forward to following along! Congrats again! :goodvibes

So, Ken has been amazing! Within a day, he sent me a bunch of information for us to fill out prior to our trip for the planning session, I really feel like things are kicking into motion :cool1:.

We have our planning session date set (May 31st) - now Im just on the look-out to book our room. We had already scheduled to be in FL (visiting family) so this is an added bonus, I'm so excited!

As for my make-up/trial- so as previously stated I had wanted to book with Patricia, but she didnt have any days available for when we are scheduled to be in FL. I wasnt all that disappointed because, I dont care who makes me look beautiful on my day, as long as they do a great job, Im happy. So I started looking into other people, and found a great lady, who offered a better price :thumbsup2...plus, she was very thorough within her emails on explaining services, etc. So, I'm pretty sure we're gonna go with her.

Now, here is the funniest thing that has happened so far: I get an email from Vicki today who tells me that a few of the brides from this discussion board ran back and told her that I was going with another photographer, and I have a pretty good idea as to who they were (thanks Vicki)...so, if your gonna act like high school, please dont read my pj. Thanks! :thumbsup2
OMG That's hilarious! I would be laughing too, and very nice of Vicki to let you know what's going on.

You are too freaking funny. :lmao: You will see a lot of that on here. People get so caught up on their vendors and having to defend them and attack others, it's kind of weird IMHO. I am glad you cleared everything up regarding Photgraphy.

Jocelyn that dress for your engagement photo shoot is so cute! :cutie: Are things coming together a little better now? I know you said you were stressed trying to coordinate everyone during your PS trip. We all have been through it so if you need anything or have any questions just ask!

Wow - both dresses are great but I just love the one you purchased. So now the next question, what is your DF wearing. You don't want to do matchie matchie but something that complements what you are wearing.

I had the exact same argument with my aunt and cousins about hair. I always either wear my hair straight and down or in a ponytail. Never have I had my hair done in an updo. It would see so weird for me. My mom told me to do what I wanted and not what everyone else wants.

So at my trial I had a picture of what I liked and that's exactly what I got, my hair down, wavy and that makes me so much more comfortable than having an updo with my neck and chest all naked. That's weird for me.

The dress for your engagement dress looks so cute on you! Def do the hairstyle you want. That is the best thing about trials at least they can play with your hair and really figure out what looks the best. Bring pictures of ideas to show the stylist. :goodvibes I can't wait to see your invitations-i am a HUGE beauty and the beast fan. I even had the rose in the dome on my sweetheart table. I am glad everything is coming together.

We are having Rev. Jack for our wedding as well, and this far he has been amazing! He sends you everything you need, and is very quick to get back to any questions you may have. He is such a nice man, I am really excited to have him officiating our ceremony. Good choice!:goodvibes

I love your DIY projects! I agree with you that people should be considerate of the bride on her wedding day. They shouldn't have to compromise who they are for you, but coming to you before to let you know, or waiting until after the wedding, or promising to cover it up - something to let them know that they are not doing this to get you upset (because as your friend, they should know that something like this would upset you). I am not a tattoo person, but I don't think that they look nice in pictures - half the time you cannot tell what they are from the distance of the picture so it just looks like a patch of colour. Most people I know cover up tattoos even for their own wedding for this purpose. But try not to stress about it too much, you can't change the person, and I'm sure if you ask, they will be respectful and cover them up for you. If not, there is always photoshop!

Love your DIY projects and the idea of a welcome party at Bongos. Kind of wish we were doing something like that. We have SBP, Jack Day and Randy too. Randy had some kind of deal with us too. It was for our engagement shoot in Dec and think it was a slow time.

:sad2:...ok, so, a few months ago, DF and I made the decision to get married at Disney, and as I had previously mentioned, he is paying for 80% of the wedding. That being said, my MOH offered to design out invitations. Which was soooo nice! She's totally into designing, does beautiful work, etc. So, needless to say its been like months and, nothing. When I ask her questions about the invitations, she gets defensive and says that she has alot going on...:sad2:....and to make it more stressed, we're now 5 months away, no invititations and DF asks me every couple of days, "whats going on with the invites?"......and it looks bad when I dont know.

I feel sad to say, I kinda wish I had just went with a company and gotten it done. I recently sent out a newsletter (I promise to post pix of it later!) with all of the necessary info, because we were getting a lot of questions, and it was a hit. But, it lets me know, that people are begining to make plans and I want to make sure that they have all the needed info.

I know she has her own life and she's got a lot on her plate, but I have to get these out to the guests, like, asap.

So what do you think I should do? I cant say, "Im gonna do the invites with a company" because then I look mean, etc.

But, the deal is, we're leaving for the PS next week, we'll be back home by mid June and we want to mail the invites out by the end of June. The reason being is, we need an idea of who's coming for budgeting, you all get it.

:sad2:

For destination weddings you would normally send out invites about 3 months out. You still have some time to decide if you want to change your mind. Could you give yur friend a deadline, like say the time you get back from your PS for them to be done? If they're not finished you'll go with a company.

Wow lots of updates since I was last here!

I love the hair style. They are all similar with little differences, but they all look really pretty. Are you having a hair trial (sorry I can't remember!)? If so, you could try out this style without bangs - I am sure the stylist will have some great ideas.

Your music choices are great, and will sound beautiful on the violin! I find music to be one of the hardest things to sort out.

I am sorry to hear about your invite troubles. I agree with the previous poster though, you can kindly let her know that you have a set date, and if they aren't ready you will have to go with a company. And just tell her that you understand that she has a lot going on, so you will not be crushed if she cannot make them for you. That way you won't come off as being mean.

One last thing, enjoy your trip!!

I just caught up! I love everything...As far as the tattoo bit...hopefully, they aren't on opposite foot and arm...just have Randy position that side away from the camera...So, for example-if it is on her left shoulder-you won't see it in the pics b/c her shoulder will be away from the camera. See what I'm saying???
I'm sorry your MOH isn't getting invites done. I hate it when people offer something up but don't follow thru...frustrating! :headache:

Can't wait to read more!

I think that you did a great job on your newsletters!! And the favours look great, but if you don't want to see staples, how about punching 2 holes (like where you have the staples, but maybe closer together) and tie it with a ribbon? That would do the trick and look nice in pictures, you just might have to spend a little to get the ribbon.

I can feel how anxious you are from your writing! I hope that you can relax real soon!

Everything sounds great, it is high though...we are having a lot more floral and we are just paying $400 more then you but we are using an outside florist. If you guys can swing it, I would definitely try an outside florist, I think you can get for that or more for a lot less. My bouquet has almost the same flowers you chose and it's costing my $180.00. But then again, the great thing about using Disney is that you don't have to worry about a thing.:thumbsup2

The invites turned out great! I'm sure your guests will love them.

Yes, I know that feeling, I almost passed out when we got both our BEO's. The floral one was particularly shocking. Have you thought about using an outside florist? I've found that we are getting a lot more for the money and I don't have to compromise my vision at all.

Are they really charging you $90 for each orchid stem? That seems like a lot, even for Disney.

Glad to help. That's a good idea, hopefully she can help you come up with something that has the same look you want but that will be a little cheaper.

I using Lee Forrest Designs. My photographers recommended him and having worked with him now I really like him and am so excited for our wedding day. His prices were much better than Disney on basically everything. I have my quote from him in my PJ and one of those days I'll get around to posting Disney's quote.

I've also seen really nice work by Raining Roses too, although I did not contact them for a quote. After talking to Lee, I didn't feel I needed to look anywhere else, it was like talking to an old friend.

I especially like your newsletter, I've been trying to think of what to write in ours, and I think I might steal some of your ideas. :) I also have Ken and Jen as my planners...I've been having issues with them not getting back to me about anything, but I started emailing them from work and it seems like they're quicker to respond now.

I know what you mean about the ever-growing guest list. I figured having our wedding in Disney meant that we wouldn't have too many guests, being as most of our family lives in NY, but it seems that most people are excited to have the excuse to get to FL in January. Oh well, guess you never know about these things. I look forward to reading more!popcorn::
