<font color=navy>.... do you lock the door?

The rascals are with their dad, so I'm at home by myself for a few days....

Even though I make sure that the doors and windows are locked (and we have wrought iron all around), I just feel so vulnerable when I'm taking a shower I tend to lock the bedroom door.

Just wondering if anyone else does this?

I'm just the opposite. I leave the door wide open when I shower at home alone so I can hear or see if anyone shows up.

I'm the same as JerseyJanice...I leave the door open. But I do double check to make sure that all other doors are locked (house doors that is).

But I should have learned a lesson - just ask Doctor P about the time in the shower......maybe I should lock the doors!!!!!! ROFL

I close the bathroom door, but don't lock it. And I make sure the front door is locked.

Outside doors always locked.
Bathroom door not and not all the way closed, so the cats can push their way in :D

Not when I'm at home. But when I'm away from home and showering in a motel or hotel and alone, I always get freaked out. I keep expecting Norman to pop in :(

I close and lock my bedroom door, but leave the bathroom door open a little bit (my bathroom's in my bedroom).

I'm normally a huge weanie, but for some reason taking a shower by myself doesn't bother me. I shut the door, but I don't lock it. (I mainly shut it because the dog will get all the Q-tips out of the trash if he can get in the bathroom.)

A few times I've actually finished my shower and realized the back door was unlocked the whole time. That makes me nervous.

I want to hear if someone comes around so I normally leave it partially open.

I always feel like somebodys watching me and I have no privacy.....

...when I am in the shower I am afraid to wash my hair, cause I might open my eyes and find someone standing there.

I always leave the door of my apartment locked. Then I do not even answer it unless I am expecting someone. As far as taking showers are concerned, sometimes I leave the bathroom door open, but it is closed most of the time.

I am always so paranoid so I have to. I will never use the bathroom without locking it. One time when I was staying at a hotel, the lock on the bathroom door wouldn't work. My friend wanted to sit outside the room, but I made my other friend stay in the room with the door locked until I was done in the shower, because I don't trust anybody!

October.....I locked the house....then all the windows were locked.....then the bathroom door was locked.....and then I jumped in and jumped out...waited until next morning and took a shower when there was light .....I am a true Psycho....fan.....I watched it so many times...and still scream at the same place...when the friend goes up stairs and she sees Mrs. Bates in the rocking chair and then she puts her hand on her shoulder and the chair turns around and it is the old dead ladies corpse.....scares me to pieces

I don't lock the bathroom door, but I do double-lock the front door. The back door is always double-locked unless we're going outside right then. Plus it's a second-floor porch.

I lock the door... it creeps me out if I don't!

If I'm in the house alone I don't even bother shutting the bathroom door when I take a shower. Most of the time I don't even check to see if the house doors are locked...

As December99 suggested, I probably should keep the door locked when I am in the house alone. I was taking a shower alone, and was, in fact, living in the house alone, when someone (who shall remain nameless, but her board name is a month and year ;) ) entered the house, came upstairs, came into the bathroom and scared the poop out of me by yelling "boo!" I still don't lock the door!

My shower is in the basement, in the laundry room. (The bathroom has an old claw-foot tub.) The door to the laundry room is one of those with accordion pleats and doesn’t lock. In fact, it barely closes. But the doors to the house are always locked.

Great, hadn't thought about this in a long time, now I'm scared. LOL... I always lock the door... just feel safer that way. :)

Nope. The bathroom is in my room anyway, so the door is usually open. I figure if a stranger wanders in the least of my problems is that he'll see the family jewels. Who knows, it might scare him off. ;)

Sometimes closed, sometimes open, but never locked. Like Katholyn, I do lock it if I'm staying at a hotel on my own.

and here I was expecting a question a la JasonLyons, asking if we peed in the shower. LOL

No, I don't lock the doors. In the winter, I shut the bathroom door to maximize room-heating for when I get out of the shower....in the summer, I leave the door wide open, to maximize air circulation and keep the room cool(er).
