Hello all!
I've decided that there are way too few trip reports around here from families with young babies. (Though I do notice a lot of PTR right now!) I know there are a lot of people on here planning on taking there under 2s to WDW this year, so I hope this report will help...or should I say these reports...;) So this report will be heavy on tips I've learned from my fellow Disers.

So! Cast:
Sarah (me): Will be 30 next week. :scared1: Obsessed WDW trip planner. I've been to WDW 6 times since 2003. I'm a children's librarian, which is the best job in the universe!

Justin (The_Horned_King): Turned 30 last November (HA! I'll always be younger!) He is the reason I am obsessed. In 2003 we decided to go to WDW for our Honeymoon, but that wasn't until 2004. Then the 7 for 3 deal came out and we couldn't resist. Been to WDW 5 times since 03 and twice as a kid. Middle school Art Teacher--so we slave to the school calendar.

This is from our January 06 trip back before DH found his teaching job.

Lilliana: Our first baby, already a princess. She'll be 13 months for the August trip. This was Halloween:
http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs037.snc3/12460_329405245383_612785383_9679918_1216811_n.jpg
And this was about a month ago:
http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs492.snc3/26884_10150140765390384_612785383_11482778_6533996 _n.jpg

DH and I usually go in August, because that's really the best option for a teacher (school calendar) married to a librarian (summer reading @ the library in June/July). :sad2:

So that was what we planned when I started getting crazy PIN code emails left and right. (That is what 4 seperate accounts plus a whole lotta "saved vacations" with disneyworld.com gets you!) And mixed in with the "free park hopper and more" emails I discovered a much coveted Free DINING PIN!! ANd not just the quick service one, no this is real free dining!! :dance3::yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

So our dates:
August 14-20
December 18-22 (or maybe 23)
August 2011 TBD

I definitely want this thread to have a TON of tips for taking a LO and in that spirit, here is the link to a 11 page thread I started last year with TONS of info. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2218699&highlight=tips

More to come if anyone cares!

Hi Sarah!:goodvibes

I'm in :surfweb: and anxiously awaiting more details! I always wish I had more time to do trip reports (as often as we go)....I'm excited to read yours, although reading your last thread caused me to be late taking Dylan to preschool:lmao:!

Heading over from the Mom's Board to follow you!

We are contemplating taking our daugter in either Sept or Oct since DH has a potential conference he could attend at the Beach Club. She will be 18/19 mos. by then...

Look forward to hearing about your planning.

Definitely in!!! I am anxious to see how your trips with Lilliana go this year... We are packing in vacations for the next couple of years before we have baby #2 because I am really worried about traveling with a young one... Maybe you will convince me otherwise!

BTW - you and your hubby are better employees than I am... I am a theatre teacher and take off work to go to Disney... :rolleyes1

This is a much more exciting subject anyway! There's nothing like taking your L.O. for their first trip!

When we took Luca in Feb for his first bday celebration, his hair wasn't that long, so we'll be doing the barber shop for his 1st haircut in September. Are you thinking of going there with Lilliana?

So convincing DH that we should take DD at only 1 to Disney was easy. He hasn't been since August of 08, so he's itching to go. We had talked and decided that if he got two weeks off for Christmas this year (happens in his district every 5 years or so), we'd go the week before Christmas instead of August. That way we could avoid the horrible heat with a 1 year old.

So the PIN codes roll out, and I email my Travel Agent (Scarlet from Small World--she's the bomb!). DH and I had discussed going really crazy this first trip and staying D-lux. So I had her price POR (our favorite) and WL (convenient and not too expensive). Of course WL was about $500 more or so and just like always, we couldn't justify paying more when we love POR so much. I'll take quiet pools in August over interior hallways any day.

So we ran into some issues. The time between getting a PIN (or four) and finding out when DH would start school was brutal. I had like 8 scenarios worked out. :teeth:

1. DH starts on Monday, August 23. This was the most likely scenario based on previous years, but we knew that the district was adding an extra teacher day at the beginning of the year, which leads to
2. Friday, August 20 start date. I thought this would be monumentally stupid, but DH was convinced it would happen

So I languished in the world of "will we be able to use this wonderful PIN" heck :thumbsup2 for like 3 whole days :upsidedow and then DH's school put out 2 schedules for the teachers to vote on.

The first one had them start on August 23rd (boo-ya DH) and the second had them starting on... August 30!:banana: I told DH that I didn't care that the second schedule had them getting out of school a week later in June! They have air conditioning! They will survive! I want to go to WDW with less people!! More schools will be going back earlier, this equals less people! I started a one woman crusade to convince DH's coworkers to Vote for Schedule 2!! No New Taxes! :teeth:

My campaign lasted about 3 seconds until DH told me no one would vote for option 2. But still I added possiblity
3. School starts Monday, August 30. :dance3: This would mean a full week of free dining, plus lower crowds (probably only in my mind, but hey a girl can dream.)

But the kicker...both schedules had school being out for 2 weeks for Christmas!!! :santa::santa::santa::santa: I've been DYING to go to WDW for Christmas. (and Halloween, but alas maybe in 25 years when we're retired...gotta have something to look forward to!)

Anyway, DYING to go to WDW for Christmas...so much that I made the WORST DECISION EVER and took my mom for her first trip in December of 08 and left DH at home...or school whichever way you wanna look at it. ;)
We'll save that for another post :thumbsup2...

So now we had option
4. Forget August and go December 18-twenty-something

So which did we chooooooose and why?????? (Crap, already let that cat outta the bag! lol)

Good question!

I had totally planned to do it for this trip. I made an ADR at Crystal Palace for 8am with the plan that we would go straight to the Barbershop afterwords.
But...she has almost no hair!! lol, so we'll see if she has enough for December or just wait until next August, but she will get her first haricut at WDW!

So recap...I like to blab :goodvibes

Option 1 was out. The teachers voted to go back August 23rd (boooo!:sad2:) so Option 3 was out, which left option
1. August 13-20
or
4. December 18-something.

I got all excited about finally going for Christmas, but DH didn't want to give up free dining. :rotfl: Seriously. We could get the dining plan in Decmeber. Yes it would cost more, but food is food...unless it's free food, I guess!

So I priced out a December trip and OUCH! Disney sure knows how to get every dime out of the unfortunate souls who travel at holiday time. So I gave up my dream.:sad2:

So we booked August 13 & 14th with a room only PIN :teeth: and a package for the 15-20th, because the free dining PIN didn't start until the 15th. :headache:

Then my TA  pointed out that we wouldn't have park passes for the 13 and 14th (DUH!!!). I had completely overlooked that little tidbit. I already had my which park on what day planned out after subscribing to TGM. :lmao:

She told me that she had heard of guest services letting you start your passes early when you had a package booked, but it wasn't a safe bet. :scared1:

The out of the blue inspiration struck  Why in the world would we want to be at WDW for 2 days without passes? Maybe we should only go for 5 nights? I had never considered it, because we have always gone for 7 nights. My mind just went bonkers...Maybe if we cut those days off, we could go in December too?! And then...hmm maybe I should think about renting DVC points? Turns out DVC is in almost value season until December 23rd?! :hyper: :bitelip: And then...maybe we could upgrade our passes from August to APs, since we won't need a package in December! :scared1::woohoo: And then...We could use those passes again next August for a third trip!! :faint:

So I ran the numbers and went on a mission to convince DH. Would he say yes????? :confused3:lmao::lmao:

That was really weird, wasn't it?!

I went back and edited my posts to make them actual updates (well the first one is done anyway).

OMG baby twins at WDW...just imagine the pictures!!:love: But, honestly I don't know if I could do it. Just one is scary enough after so many trips by ourselves.

It's not like I don't deal with twin babies on a daily basis, kwim? I'm anxious to see how megan (staley) makes out w/ her crew. We took my older son every spring from 2006-2009, so we are sorely missing our WDW trip right about now.

That's totally what I was thinking. If you can handle them at home and you are a WDW vet, I'm sure you could handle them at WDW.:thumbsup2

Hi! I am jumping over from the mommy board! I am Cleveland-er too, but we are in Cleveland Heights for the past 12 years or so! I have always taken my babies to Disney...it is a great place for them!!

We did AP's last year and it was great. We only planned to take 2 trips, but we eeked out a third a week before the AP ran out and it was so worth it!!!

How did I miss this link? I only found it after you mentioned it in your last post on the New Moms thread. I leave in 47 days:cool1:, and Katie will be 12 1/2 months. I'll let you know how it goes!

I can't take vacation during the school year either-we only get 2 personal days. And we aren't allowed to take them the day before or after a holiday.

One day I will get to go the week before Christmas. I went Thanksgiving 2007, and the Christmas stuff was amazing!

So in lieu of an update to the planning process I thought I would post some random thoughts.

A few months ago I was obsessed with finding a quality baby carrier to tote Lily around in. I even learned the lingo on www.thebabywearer.com which in case you've never heard of it, takes A LOT of dedication. ;)

So I bought a Beco. It's great, but we barely use it and there is no why we will use it any more than that at Disney. Lily is just too heavy. She's over 20 pounds. I spent sooo much time, it's sad. I still have plans to get it some real use at the zoo before I really make up my mind, but I can't imagine the sweat of the carrier in August.

I also stressed over bringing the right stroller. I finally bought a Maclaren off of ebay for a steal and we all really like it (even DH who was a major stinker about it). I love how small it is after using our giant Graco. I just have to buy a couple of accessories for it. We already have a RayShade that I got for $3 on clearance at Marshall's (Score!)

So we have our major touring gear. I plan on using my...crap I can't think of the brand name...it's the bag that is always recommended on here? Oh! Bagalini..ugh mommy brain. I've used it the past 2 trips and barely had anything actually in it, so I'm hoping it'll fit most of her stuff, because it'll fit in the stroller bag.

I picked out a baby sunscreen...who knew that was so difficult? Got Lily a hat and sunglasses (which she actually wears for the most part so far!) I bought her a bunch of super light sundresses, but now worry about sun exposure. lol

K enough rambling. I think I need to read more PTRs and see what other people write about before I bore you all to death!

My modem went out 2 days ago, and I was going through withdrawals! No one in my area had one, so I had to send dh to Best Buy, an hour away!

I've bought some stuff for the stroller, too. I have a rain cover and sun cover. I ordered the sunscreen, and think it is at the post office (had a note on my door yesterday that they had a package for me, but haven't had time to go and get it-it is either that or some cute Disney outfits for Katie for the trip). I also ordered a fan for her stroller and got it yesterday.

I haven't even thought about sunglasses! I'll have to think on that one!

I figured we start with the sunglasses now in hopes she'll be used to them by August. So far she loves them. She looks so adorable with the hat and the sunglasses on, a little movie star. I'll post a pic.

So how in the world did I convince my very frugal DH to take not just one, but 3 trips in one year?

I really have no idea. I do have some educated guesses.
1. DH hasn't been to WDW in 2 whole years. It's driving him nuts. It's very funny, since every year he tries to tell me that we shouldn't go, but we always do.
2. He loves me and secretly really wants to go for Christmas to avoid the drama we had last year.
3. He has his own little princess to spoil now.

Did I mention said princess, is saying "Pooh?":lovestruc And she absoultely freaks out when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on? The brainwashing has been a success!

So I mention my idea to DH and he was actually interested and I eventually talked him into it, by showing him we could take 2 trips for less than we got back on our tax return! Go me!

So I started researching renting DVC points, since we are going to do that and get an annual pass. After 2 months of looking and waiting to hear if SIL wanted to stay with us in December, I finally rented from a nice Diser!

So we are staying December 18-23 at the Boardwalk Villas!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo: We'll be right in the middle of the holiday action on the BW, plus within walking distance to DHS and EPCOT!

Is it wrong to be WAY more excited for that trip? I'm worried about crowds, but so excited to be down there for the pre-holiday!:santa:

So my next update will be the plans for August. hopefully by talking about it with you guys, I can get in the mood! Though just thinking about it has me:banana::banana:

I really didn't think Lily would have enough hair, but even though she doesn't have enough for a real cut, we could get a token one, if we weren't going to be back for a while.

So here's my August itinerary:

We're leaving Ohio on August 13th, probably in the early evening? I'm so terrified of the drive, I don't even want to think of it. We usually stay in Orangeburg NC on the way down, which is about 10 hours away. I think we may need to stay somewhere closer this time? What do you think? I'm figuring we may be stopping more often.

So anyway, we'll arrive at POR sometime on August 14th, hopefully we won't be regretting the trip! Our Free Dining package starts on the 15th. If we arrive early enough we'll head to DHS and get the park passes from the package started early at Guest Services. (You all know you can do that right?) If not, we'll just chill and recover from the drive.

August 15--head down to check in desk to check in and out and get out dining plan started at 7am (I guess this is the earliest we are allowed to do so).

8:05am--Breakfast at CP; Morning at MK--afternoon break at resort--back to MK depending on DD for the evening as long as she's happy. (heh)

August 16
Epcot--break--Epcot for dinner at the Garden Grill 5:25

August 17
AK--Breakfast at Tusker House at 8:05am--no evening plans

August 18
DHS (unless we get enough done that first day and then we'll go to either EP or MK)
Ohana 5pm--MK evening if DD is up for it

August 19
Not sure...AK is the only good option according to TGM, but I very much doubt we'll want another day there.
The only thing really planned for that day is Le Cellier at 5pm.

August 20
Last day. MK in the morning or maybe hang at the resort for a while and then MK before we leave to head home.

So that's the plan. I'm debating chucking DHS all together to spend more time at MK, because apparently TSM will be closed. There really isn't that much to do there except Playhouse Disney live, but the Animation Studio is such a great spot for characters.

How lucky you are getting to go for so long in August AND December!

You should have a hard time with crowds in Dec since you are getting out of there on the 23rd. I am hoping to be able to convince DH that we should go for a long weekend in Dec. hehe. We only have 5 vacation days to play with though and we are already using 2 in May and hopefully 1 in Sept. So we'll see.

My 9 month old is about 19lbs and I carry her effortlessly in the Ergo I just got. It was seriously like she wasn't even there! I'll trade you my Ergo for your Beco. ;) If you don't want to trade, I'll be glad to take it off your hands. Course we have to take it over to thebabywearer.com since as "disers" money can't pass from one hand to the other. But as "thebabywearers" it can. :rotfl2:

I feel soooo lucky to be able to go twice. I'm so glad DH can't pass up free food! lol

I have an Ergo that a friend let me borrow. I wish I had tried it before the Beco, because now it's like rocket science. I just can't figure it out, even though I think it's somehow actually easier? I need to get together with my babywearing friends, so they can help me figure this out. I know I'm just wearing her wrong. It should be more comfortable.

Let me mess around with it this week and maybe I will think about your offer! I got a great deal on it, so I'd pass that along...it's the Organic Panther Print:

I'm copying this from the family board so I don't forget:
This may seem like a stupid thread, but my daughter will be 13 months during our trip in September and she flails during changing. I'm more comfortable changing her on one of the large stations rather than those small fold-down Koala things.

We went to WDW when she was 3 months and I made a mental note of some bathrooms to avoid for changing (this is, of course, if we're nowhere need the baby stations. Obviously, I know they're there ;) )

MK-I believe all of the restrooms I used had the full-size station:
-by Town Hall
-by Tomorrowland Terrace
-by the Bazaar in Adventureland
-by Splash Mountain

Epcot-
-restroom to the right of SSE as you come in is full-sized, I believe the other side is as well
-I think American pavilion has a full-size station
there were a couple of restrooms in WS that only had the fold-downs. I believe Morocco was one of these

Studios-
I can't remember any specific in this park

AK
-restroom by the safari I believe has full-size
-restroom by exit of Kali RR is full-size
*restroom in seating area of Yak & Yeti counter service has NO changing station

Anybody have any definites they can add? :)

I'm back today! I'll work on my trip report this week. I will say that Katie HATED the characters, at least up close. We finally got a pic with Mickey and Minnie this morning. She tolerated standing close to them, but didn't want them to touch her. She loved the shows, especially Playhouse Disney!

Welcome!! Lily will be 17 months for the December trip, so I should have lots of stuff for you by the time you go!

He is adorable! Love the picture!

I can't wait to hear all about it. I've been contimplating skipping DHS, but I think Lily would love Playhouse Disney. And it's one of the few things DH and I have never done (imagine that! ;)) Plus the character greeting area after the animation studio thingy is a hidden gem, especially for the heat in August.

We've been taking Lily to see the local fuzzies for a LONG time, hoping she'll be okay with them. She really likes the Red Robin robin, but isn't too sure about the Chickfila cow. DH took her to Free Comic Book day and she apparently LOVED the stormtroopers. :thumbsup2

Here's Lily with her glasses...not that she keeps them on much anymore, I'm thinking about trying the ones that have the strap, but I'm sure she'll pull that off too. :teeth:

She was just in awe at Playhouse Disney. The "characters" there are smaller, and look just like they do on the shows. She danced, clapped, and yelled through the whole show. I wanted to do it again, but there was no time. I won't go during SWW again-the whole park was just too chaotic.

Too cute! I gave up on the glasses and fought the hat the whole trip. The sunscreen I ordered (from the New Moms thread) was great-no sunburn the whole trip. I couldn't keep her from rubbing her eyes when I did her face, but she never cried.

That's good to know since it's the kind I have too! We've used it a few times with success.

It's Earth's Best, but it's also the Jason brand in case anyone is familiar. I got it at BRU when it was B1G1, but amazon has it too.

Jason's Natural Sunscreen (http://www.amazon.com/Jason-Natural-Cosmetics-Earths-Chemical/dp/B000V76ANI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1276029716&sr=1-1)

It gets one of the best ratings as a baby sunscreen, without costing a boatload like California Baby does.

We have the Jason sunbrella too! It is the best...no dryness and no allergy for my DD!!! I also ordered sunblock from Shaklee (all natural products) and I will let you know how it is when it comes in...it is considerably pricier, though, but I wanted options!!

Lily looks adorable in her dress and sunglasses!! I am going to miss buying baby girl clothes--my DD is 6 and now likes to pick her own clothes:confused3

Have a great day!

Ellie wears 95% dresses all the time. She has nicer ones for church and sun dresses for every other time. She owns 1 pair of shorts that someone else bought and she has worn them once. She has a couple creepers, other than that she is in dresses. :)

Lily wears a lot of capris right now since she's crawling so much. Her knees were getting all beat up.

Do you put the little diaper covers on under the dress? Either way it's much easier than pants and even shorts!

So Disney has thrown a wrench in on my plans for the 14th. The Last Tour to Endor. It's a ticketed event for Star Wars fanatics at DHS, so unless we get to Disney really early on the 14th, I doubt we'll be heading to DHS.

Last Tour to Endor (http://http://www.starwarscelebration.com/en/Disney-Event/?campaignid=61578407&iusercampaignid=62505082)

And our plans on the 15th might be off too, since it's the first night that they switch back to Wishes--I'm worried it'll make things more crowded at MK, but we'll probably chance it anyway.

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone. On to happier stuff.

Plans and ADRs for December (remember we're staying at BWV):

12/18 Arrival day.
Everything depends on when we get there. I'll hopefully have a better idea of timing after we drive down in August...but the plan is to go to AK if we arrive early (and are rested enough) or Epcot if we arrive late (or need some rest)

ADR 4:30 @ Kouzzina (might cancel--wish there were more options right on the Boardwalk--you'd think there would be)

12/19--MK morning
I want to hit it before the crowds really arrive and the last MVMCP is that night, so I'm hoping for a light morning before we duck out for a break when it gets too crowded.
Epcot and hopefully the CP package. I booked Le Cellier for 4:20. DH plans to hang out with Lily, while I watch the CP. He's really not interested and I prefer not to have to deal with any issues that a 17mo old would create!

12/20: Epcot M & E
I really hope to see all the storytellers (as a librarian, it's kind of a big deal to me) I have a 5 pm ADR at the Captains Grille

12/21: AK
I really want to spend more time here since we never stay long on our August trips--the heat is such a nightmare. That evening I have an ADR at 50s PT for 4:30. We're really only going to DHS to see the Osbourne Lights, anything else will be cake.

12/22: MK
I have CP booked for 8:05am, I'll either keep it or cancel once we see how she handles it in August.
5pm Ohana--must do on all our trips
I can't imagine keeping both Adrs...but if the Character Breakfasts go really well, I want to do at least one.

12/23:
So we traditionally do MK before we leave, but this is a very bad MK day and since i barely have a DHS day, we're going to go to DHS unless we somehow get everything done and then we'll go to AK.

I'm kicking myself for not staying the night of the 23rd. I know there's no way there is anymore availablity at BWV, but I was thinking we might stay the night just outside of Orlando somewhere and make the 23rd a pretty full park day.

I really want to see the storytellers, too. Maybe next year. When we went for Thanksgiving week 2007, we got to do all the other Christmas stuff-MVMCP, Osbourne Lights, characters in Christmas clothes, Christmas parades, etc. But we left on Thanksgiving day, and the Epcot stuff all started the day after.

Katie was well-behaved, until a character came close to her! You said Lily had been around costumed characters before, so maybe she'll do better.

I can't wait to hear about the December trip. I'm getting excited about planning a trip for the same time next year. Too bad I won't have a school schedule before next spring. It was May before it came out this year (due to budget negotiations) but it usually comes out around March. My luck, they'll probably do exams on M, T, and W and we'll just get 2 days before Christmas off.:headache: I'd love to do it this year-we have the whole week off, but I can't spend that much money after going this summer.

Lily is usually awesome in restuarants, she loves all the attention, but we always time trips right after a nap, so I'm hoping it'll work out. We're trying to keep to her schedule as much as possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's totally "off" while we're there, ya know. Plus who knows how different she'll be in 6 months.

I really hope she's cool with the characters. I hope she loves Mickey and the gang and Pooh and the gang as much as she does on TV.

I couldn't take not knowing again next year and I sooo want to go for the holidays. I'm just glad I convinced DH.

Alright ladies, I'm starting to get very nervous about the car trip. Lily is used to long rides, but of course not this long. We got a GPS (father's day present lol) and a DVD player. I'm so much more nervous about the drive than the actual trip!

So any tips?

That's too funny that she said that! I think it's the weird Disney magic. My mom swears she had a great time on our disaster trip, but I keep telling her she's nuts! At least we totally agree that if we ever go together again (which is a long shot unless we buy DVC someday) that we'd basically have seperate trips where we saw each other a few times while my dad and her toured at their pace and I went at mine! :rotfl:

Yep, I just wish DH would catch the DVC flu!! :rotfl: I've had it for years!!
Symptoms are as follows:
1. Ability to look math in the eye and scoff! (I know it truly can save some people money...we are not those people! :thumbsup2)
2. Tendancy to read the DVC boards just in case.
3. Thoughts like "But it forces us to vacation at least every other year, and vacations are very important to me."
4. Tendancy to stare lovingly at all of the "Best Kept Secret" signs at WDW, knowing exactly what the secret is (and feeling pretty smug about that knowledge).

Great report so far! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear about Lily's first trip. We took my daughter, Maddie, down last August at almost 11 months & she LOVED it! She LOVED all the furry characters, mostly Mickey. She was (and still is, LOL) obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse before our trip and she was so excited to see Mickey in person. She seems to love all characters we see too, though - the Red Robin, Chick-Fil-a cow and mascots at ballgames. She met Snoopy the other night at the local minor league ballgame & loved him, too. :)

We are probably only doing DHS once or twice in December - we definitely want the girls to see the Osbourne Lights at least once and Maddie really loved the Playhouse Disney show last time - she was just in awe the whole time. So, that is a must do for us even though there's so little else we'll want to do there this trip.

We are planning our next trip down in December & it'll be our 2nd daughter's 1st trip this time around. Maddie will be 27 months & Evie will be 8 months at the time. We've never driven down (as adults, anyways) but will be driving down in December. Airfare was just too expensive & we wanted the car to get around in with the girls. Right now, our plan is to try to drive as much as possible when the girls would be sleeping. We're thinking of either leaving during afternoon naptime or at bedtime & trying to drive overnight as much as possible. Still not sure what the best option is for a drive so long.

Oh, and we live in Mentor & both graduated from Mentor. Small world! :)

It's ok....it's a learned task, I think. The more practice you get the better. We laugh about all the weird places I've nursed...:rotfl:You'd be surprised!!! As she gets older she'll be less squirmy while eating.

The baby stations are great places to nurse. The rooms for nursing are quiet with no distractions. There are also many rides you can nurse withouse anyone ever knowing. I became the master of finding the rides, corners, shaded benches, etc. My son loved to nurse all the time.

Wow sweet! I guess you didn't recognize DH? When are you going in December?

I'll do my best to send along a ton of driving trips, especially since we have the exact same drive!

I bet we've been at Red Robin at the same time before. We're there like all the time! lol

I'm still a little nervous, but I know we'll figure it out. I've been re-reading old trip reports and everyone in those survived, so I know we will too!

Does anyone see anything I missed in the packing list?

I have new pics of Lily to share when I get them downloaded. We took her for her birthday last week.

Oh! and another tip, I guess the Harmony Barber Shop at MK is taking reservations now for haircuts, so I need to make one of those for the December trip. I wonder how far in advance I can book...

We planned a night where we could do Spectro if everything worked perfectly, not that night is a very hopeful must-do!

So I've spent the day compiling a list of some TRs I've found that include babies around 1, so for any of you that are like me and get obsessive about reading TR before your trip:

Very cool!
You can also check out my trip reports. They go back as far as 2005 but still include lots of touring with babies info. :) (http://staff.kings.edu/mfpriebe/Disney/index.htm)

Just some info....I expressed for 13 months for Amelia (which had its own challenges while touring at WDW) and nursed Ernie for two years.

Where is the character greeting at DHS?

Definitely! And it's like the only place to meet Sorcerer Mickey, right?
I don't know of any other character greeting spot for DHS, did you mean a different park?

I took the afternoon off yesterday and my aunt took Lily so I did 4 stright hours of cleaning, washing clothes and packing. I'm done and most of Lily's outfits are done. Now I just have to round up all the extra stuff and DH has to find time to do his stuff.

Luckily my mom is taking her tomorrow, so DH and I can go shopping for all the last minute stuff. Then we have to see if it all fits in the car! :teeth:

Thanks Melody!

So I ordered a new Ergo Performance from MyStrollers.com last week and it still hasn't shipped!! I'm so mad (at them and myself!) I thought I had the shipping confirmation, but it was just the order confirmation! ARGH!! And they aren't open on Saturdays or Sundays!! ARGH! The carrier is $18 cheaper from them than anyone else and I should have known it was too good to be true.
So Monday morning I'll be calling them to figure this out. At this point, I see them just canceling on me and I'll have to pay the extra, plus fast shipping to get it here by Thursday! ARGH!

Hi there! I realize I am jumping in on the tail end of this TR, but it looks like are little girls are VERY close in age. We'll also be there in December, but a few before you guys. I am loving your travel list, am interested to see how nursing at the parks, goes and how your carrier situation works out. We have an Ergo that we have used a lot, but not lately. We have both a Peg and Mac, but I think the Peg will be going with us.

I hope your trip is amazing... oh and fill me in on this getting the tickets early thing... I am VERY intrigued!!

As for the carrier, my Ergo Performance arrived today from Amazon. I cancelled the one from mystrollers (and still haven't been refunded BTW--AVOID them!)

Early Ticket Pickup--This nugget is completely thanks to Cheshire Figment the DIS Ticket Expert:
I. Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up.

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

Thanks for the scoop on the early pick-up. That totally changes everything on my touring plans. I hope the Ergo works out great for you. My hubby liked it better than any carrier he has ever used, including a frame backpack. We've even had my middle son in it at about 2.5 and it was totally comfy!

Thanks on the compliments! Lily is just darling too! I can't believe she is already saying Pooh! I cannot wait for that moment! And yes, we are in Cinci, but are originally from MI. I am, sadly, a Lions fan. It's a habit I'd love to break, but you know how you just feel the hope every August that this year is going to be the one where your team comes through. ;) My hubby is actually in Cleveland tonight at the Indians game (and a meeting for work).

Got to try out the new Ergo last night and I LOVE it!! Fits super comfy and it's much lighter than the regular Ergo. DH is already excited about trying the hip carry. Whatever gets him carrying more than me! :thumbsup2 I'll give a full review when we get back.
