Bringing pins to the cruise...

I am looking for some suggestions regarding taking pins with me for trade, as well as bringing them home. Is it better to keep them in the carry-on luggage and have them searched, or is it better to pack them in the luggage?

Which would prompt more "interest" these days from airport security as well as shipboard security?

How have you worldy pin traders been taking yours?

My daughter proudly wore her pins onto the plane after our WDW trip in May. We went thru security at MCO and Dulles. (I don't think we could have pried them from her neck!) We put the whole lanyard into the plastic tupperware provided for loose change and electronics and it went through the Xray. The airline personnel all took the time to look at her pins so I would say that you are just fine with them on board!
