Lets get something started.

My last trip was in April of '09. I don't get to go down nearly as much as my brother does! Hahahaha he's down there at least twice a year with the wife and 2 kiddos. I'd love to go down there more often!!

My own personal preference would be a restaurant or bar, and if at all possible, on a weeknight rather than a weekend. (I'm up further north over weekends visiting my kids usually)

I work in haverhill!
We would be up for some sort of meet as well. There is a dis meet section so maybe he mods can move this thread? It may get more hits there.
My suggestions would be to possibly wait till the new yak and yeti restaurant opens up in Somerville, ma. I think it would be neat to get a bunch of people together there as it will be a little piece of Disney here in new England.
PS. I do realize its not a Disney resturant nor is it associated with them at all but I figured we all could see the connection. This new restaurant is the same chain as the Disney one for what its worth.

Wicked cool idea (thread and meet) :)
I met my DGF RoseAnne (moremickey4me) here on the boards as well as several other good friends from this area.
I don't check the boards as often as I used to, but lots of us are still around and love to get together with other fun Disneyphiles.
Look forward to seeing more local traffic on the thread and planning another get-together for this area.

Are we doing singles only, or are we including people who travel solo, too? I'm in Plymouth, if you don't mind a curmudgeonly woman who loves to travel sans family.
Mahorn

That would be a blast I'm sure. Or in Burlington we could to to the Rainforest Cafe and I know its not associated with Disney but reminds me of being there.

Definitely does not just for singles for all in the NE area who have a love for Disney :)
So join the conversation.

Hello there,
I was involved in the New England meet last year and it went really well.
We actually started off with a few polls: where and when.
The choices we had were for skiing in VT or Foxwoods Casino in CT. We ended up in the casino. We met for dinner, drinks, gaming, etc. I met some great people who I now consider my friends. Also give some dates and see who is interested.
I would be open to attending another meet. I am sure Tom would be joining as well.
Thanks for putting this together.

Hi everybody!
Jenn, good to talk to you again - I haven't been on the boards much (too much work and life getting in the way!!) I miss the chats too - esp on Joe's site. Hope you're well!
I love the idea of a get-together in NE (I'm another central MA/Blackstone valley person..) I'd vote for some place festive for a meet-up - Rainforest is great (I've been there a lot with my nieces and nephew) or a casino would be cool too. :cool1: I have a friend/co-worker who's also a Disney freak - maybe she'd come with me (she's married, but who cares??)
I'm trying to save $$$ this year, but I am getting in one short trip in August with my family - cannot wait!
Hey, Augie - how are you?? Doing well, I hope!!
Thanks again, Jenn! I'm psyched! :thumbsup2

Mahorn,
I don't know how to set up a poll.
I am sure someone here will be able to help you.
You need to go back to the original post I believe... edit and look for options. not sure if you can edit the poll after you do it. Its been awhile since I have done one.

I love the idea for Rain Forest Cafe or even the Boarder Cafe in Burlington MA it is across the street from the Rain Forest and it reminds me of Mexico in Epcot. The food is great and the parking a breeze. It is also right off of 128 so it could be really easy for a meet up!

Hi from RI here!
I'd be interested in a meet. I voted for the CT casino because it's a smidge closer to me than Rainforest Cafe.
The Yak & Yeti restaurant scheduled to open in Somerville has no relationship whatsoever to Landry's (who owns/operates Rainforest Cafes and Yak & Yeti in AK). It's a Nepali restaurant and just happens to have the common name "Yak & Yeti".

I am way up here, just north of Bangor, ME, but would love to come to a DIS meet at RFC if I can swing the timing with work. I know there are quite a few Mainers on the Boards- it actually kind of surprises me! Living in Maine, I am not afraid of driving long distances, that's for sure... but if there's anyplace closer than burlington, that'd be great! I grew up in MA (Peabody) and lived in the area for about 30 years, so I know where you are talking about and how long it takes to get there. I'll check back occasionally and see what's up!

South shore gal here ... I'd love to attend a DIS meet and put some faces to the names here! If I were able to make it RFC seems to be the best option. However, I'm not voting as I doubt I can go since DS is keeping me running most weekends with baseball. Time will tell ;)
RFC
Pros:
Easy to find (Burlington Mall, right off of 128)
Traffic is usually decent except for rush hours.
Similar in setup and menu to RFCs in FL
Cons:
You're not in Disney when you come out :rotfl:

Just stumbled on this thread! It would be wonderful to meet with other people who understand my "little" Disney and DISboards obcession! :surfweb:
I live in in the dead-center of the state, Rutland, not too far from Worcester. Rutland is so small that we don't have any traffic lights... but of course we have two Dunkin' Donuts! :rotfl2:
This weekend I was at a family party and a few people were talking about an ice cream shop that is awesome in Sterling. I said "oh, that is my favorite place!" They just looked at me confused and said "I thought Disney World was your favorite place?" OK, I guess I should have said "that is my favorite place to get ice cream" (assuming we are talking about places were Dole Whips are not available, of course!) :rotfl:
Darn, now I am in the mood for a Dole Whip! :headache:

4/30, 5/7, 5/8, 5/14, 5/15, 5/21, 5/28, 5/29, 6/4, 6/5 (evening), 6/11, 6/19, 6/25, 6/26

BEST place would be Earl of Sandwich... but we can't go there  It's past security in Terminal E at Logan. Can you believe the nerve of them? EoS would be perfect! There'd be plenty of seating at Logan, there's all kinds of private and public transportation... wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm in, with an odd work schedule: I'm available Thursday and Saturday evenings, and all day Sundays. And I stick with my vote for RainForest!

I'm in, too. Saturdays/Sundays (time of day doesn't really matter) are better for me unless there's interest in a gathering at a Friday night improv comedy show in Attleboro. ;)

I haven't posted on this board in forever (heavy lurking and lots of WDW visits, but no posting recently lol), but I'd love to join if the dates are right. :)
