Apologise for the dim questions and if this has been asked before, but after having an iphone lying around in the box for the last couple months I decided that this weekend was the time to open it up and get going with it.:rolleyes1
I can't fathom out how to use one of my ipod songs as a ringtone. I am not keen on the ringtones that come with the iphone and want to use some of my own. Is using the apps ringtones the only way I can get extra ringtones?
Another question is it just me or can you not bluetooth with other mobiles like Sony or Nokia? :confused3
TIA

There was another thread recently about ringtones - you can download them from certain websites, iTunes or use software on a mac.
As for Bluetooth - no, you can't do Bluetooth between the iPhone and other phones.

You can make your own ringtones from iTunes too!
I followed this (http://www.ipodrepublic.com/iphone-accessories/create-free-iphone-ringtones-in-itunes/2009/06/30/) guide to make mine and it worked :goodvibes

Interesting - I had no idea it was possible for free with iTunes now - I can free up a load of space on my mac now by removing the huge program I have that is only there for creating ringtones :yay:

I downloaded iringer (free) which allows you to choose which bit of the song you want as a ringtone or just the same bit over and over if you want.

Along the same topic does anyone know if there is any way of putting your own message tones on the iphone? My sister recently got one and followed the guide mentioned above for the ringtone issue but then it got us wondering about the message tones.

The only way to change the message tone is by jailbraking your iPhone AFAIK :)

Thank you so much for posting that link, I was nearly tearing my hair out trying to do it from the info posted on one of the Apple forums, that made it so simple to do! Just got to wait until I get home to sync my iphone to it now!

Yep, sadly it's true.
I get my iPhone ringtones from myxer.com, easy peasy :)
