My nails rarely grow and when they do they are weak, brittle and break right away. What do you suggest to help them grow and become stronger?

There is a product called Nailtiques it's sold in salons. It works wonders on weak, peeling, soft nails. It's a protein thats applied daily to your nails. You can even apply it over polish.

There is a great product called Nailtek that is wonderful for brittle, weak nails. You would need the Intensive Therapy formula. It really works.

BTW, I am a nail tech.

I've found something that I like better than Nailtiques, its Almay Daily Flouride polish, they sell it in msot drugstores, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. I have horrible nails, but this stuff works wonders!! I also use the Almay cuticle wax as well, it makes your nails really strong, and the cuticles and skin around your nails really soft, etc.

I used to have thin brittle nails too, plus I picked on them much before. One day I decide to stop all my bad habbits, and it took me about half year to get somewhat healthy nails.

Try to buff the surface once in a while. Not too often. I found buffing keep it shiny and strong.
Don't file the edge.
Massage oils onto the nails nightly. Doesn't matter what cream you use. And also right after shower.
Use glove when dishwashing.
And definitely do not put on nail polish. It really kills my nails. If you must use polish, take them off with a better remover that has more oils than alcohol. And take at least a week in between polish.
Keep your nails short once they're strong. And then slower let it grow longer.

Do you like Jello? My DS had awful nails and his doctor told him to eat Jello, so we all started eating it. Our nails are stronger and grow very fast now.
