School Starts Tomorrow

I cant believe school will start tomorrow. DD will be in the 10th grade..I cant believe my baby has grown up so much. She wont be alone though, DH and I both work in the school system so we will be up and out early too. :( His duty time starts at 7:20. :( Its back to the old grind...

Ours starts next Monday. I hate the end of summer but I do enjoy getting out at the end of May.

Oh YUCK!!! I hate for summer to end. Our schools don't start until Aug. 27, but it's just impossible to think that it's already time to start getting ready.:(

Wow, some of the schools start really early. My children go back September 3rd, unfortunately they are not finished until June 11th. Our district is building a new high school and the start of school was moved a week, we would normally start the last week of August.

My sons are both in college and they start back at the end of the month - as do I, working at a local HS. Again, the summer went by way too fast! (But it was still better than last summer when my Dear Mom was in the hospital for 4 weeks - then she needed a lot of assistance!)

Sadly, I start back on Tuesday and the kids come back next Monday. Summer was just way too short. :(

We don't start until Sept. 4th, but the earliest we could get out(with no snow days) isn't until June 20th!!! When do all of you who are starting this week finish with school?

My DD started Kindergarten last Tuesday... it was stressful for me :) but she is having a blast!! Hopefully the school year goes as fast as the summer!

I can't believe how early you all start back!!!
School starts back here the last week of August. I have no one here going back to our High School, we are finished!!
DD heads to her first year of college on August 23rd!!

i go back to collage at the end of the month..... wow... its going to be ruff... I havent been to a Class since the end of December!!! hahahaha!:cool: talk about a lonnngggg summer (most of it in florida ;) )

Well ya know................us Aussies only have 7 more weeks till the kids get a 2 week break for Spring, then it's back to the grind till 6th December (my kids) & then it's off till the end of January.

Because my guys go private they finish a week before the government schools. But also my guys get an added bonus this year, they are getting an extra week & 2 days holidays in Septemer as we are off to DL for the very first time.

Have fun getting yourselves & your kids back into the griind.:p

It's not my favourite time of year either, but I don't have to do it till the end of January.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Schools here always start the day after Labor Day and end about the end of the first week of June. How long a vacation do those of you get who start so early? You must end early in the spring too.

We begin here the day after Labor Day - actually teachers have four days of professional development the week prior to that. I just got out of summer school on Thursday - looking forward to a few weeks vacation first!! Have a great school year everyone. Caroline:D

We never start before Labor Day. In these parts, it is known at the "King's Dominion" rule. When they tried to move up the starting date to before Labor Day, the theme park King's Dominion (now owned by Paramount parks), had a fit, because it was taking away their local help during the day, and they didn't go on a weekend schedule until after Labor Day. They tried again last year, and the merchants at Va Beach had a fit, as did the parents... so if a school system wants to start before Labor Day, they have to get a waiver to do it. And it is easier said that done!

DS goes back 8/14 and I'll go back 8/21. I hate when they start before Labor Day. You just get back in the groove and you're off for Labor Day. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :mad:

It was pretty good! I had homework tonight..and have a test friday...but still good!
It didnt even feel like the first day!! My english teacher is great!! He is pretty young and loves shows like SNL! He was joking about everything! Its great not being a freshman anymore!! hehe, although we all kept forgetting!!
Lets just hope tomorrow goes as good as today!
