Are there enough characters on board for the kids to keep an autograph book with them on the ship?

Definitely!!
There are event events such as the "Princess Party" that are geared around the kids getting autographs from the characters.

Will we be able to find an autograph book at Downtown Disney? Last time I ordered them over the internet but this time we will be making an afternoon stop at DTD so I thought I would get them there if it is possible.

You should have not problem finding one at DTD. If you do they have them on board the ship also.

Do I remember correctly that the autograph books onboard have the DCL logo or the characters in their nautical attire?

My kids loved getting the characters autographs. Make sure you have your camera ready!

The four Princesses on board are available for autographs at a table in the atrium.

Is the princess party just for the 7 day or is it also for the 3 and 4 day cruises?

The Princesses available were Cinderella, Snow White, Wendy, and Alice. It is really a special autograph session instead of a party. There is a photq in Shutters that you can purchase and all of the Princesses will sign.

I do not know if it is only available on the 7day- it was held on one of the sea days.

They have the princess party on the three day cruise, the morning of Nassau day. The princesses we had were Cinderella, Wendy, and Snow White. It seems like there was one more but I can't recall. They allowed time for pictures (for Shutters) and autographs. My girls enjoyed it!

Now I remember the other princess. It was Alice in Wonderland!
