:wizard: A WDW trip doesn't go by when I'm not in the Magic Kingdom "dreaming" of an empty park. How great would it be to be so rich, you could close down the Magic Kingdom (or any other WDW park) and have the park all to yourself. No lines, no other guests, only pure Disney magic. Am I the only one???????
What would you do if you could have the Magic Kingdom all to yourself?

I love MK but voted for DHS purely for RnR, ToT and TSM. If we had this park all to ourselves we would ride those as many times as humanly possible and have it be on a Fantasmic night too.
Had I voted for MK, a stay in Cinderella's Castle would be a must as would be going to at least one meal at CRT and riding SM, BTM, and SM several times over. Needless to say Spectromagic and Wishes would be a must in the evening too.
At both places we would have all the characters following us around. :)
Although I must say that having WDW all to ourselves wouldn't feel quite right. ;)

I voted for MK. I want to take pictures of everything without anyone else in the photos!

My daughter and I just had this conversation. It actually inspired our first mother-daughter trip coming up in November :goodvibes She turns 11 tomorrow and still wants to vacation with me....Anywho, I would simply take my time and walk slowly down Main Street taking in all the sights and sounds. Then I would totally hit all the mountains!

I found this a tough call since we like the parks in this order - EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Studios and Magic Kingdom.
But if we were being selfish I think the sheer detail and totally absorbed time with the animals meant that Animal Kingdom got our vote.
Joe Rodhe has much to be proud of since this is such a beautiful park :goodvibes

What a great fantasy! We would choose MK since we have 3 little ones. Wandering around taking in all of the details we never seem to have time to notice would be wonderful. Then we could do an easy baby-swap on the mountains. If only.....

I would like to vote for all, please :rolleyes1
But since I had to choose just one, I went with MK - purely based on photo ops.

I'm a big fan of his, too! DH2B and I are planning on booking the Lunch with an Imagineer for our honeymoon in October and I told him it would be a dream come true if Joe were our Imagineer! Wishful thinking, I know....but he is so fascinating.

Definately MK, I would ride the Carosel all day and night changeing horses until I rode everyone then I would sneak up into the living quarters and fall asleep for the night.

Mmmmmmmm, I don't know, one of the things I love about going to Disney is people watching. I love watching the kids, especially the little ones and moms and dads. I don't know if I'd enjoy a park totally to myself, but I think I would go with Magic Kingdom. I've been there on a very low crowd day, it was like a 3 and it was just lovely. :goodvibes

I put Magic Kingdom, just so I could do all the things I'd like.
I would get the Dapper Dans to sing to me personally! :goodvibes

This was a hard one. But in the end I would want epcot all to my self. I just love strolling the countries but it can be busy. Also I am a die hard figment fan so i have to go where my heart is! lol!:figment:

I don't think I would want any park all to myself. Or even just me and my close friends.
Part of the excitement of the parks comes from the energy of the people.
I have only been to WDW in early December. I would like crowds to be just a little less. Lines no more than 5 minutes, 10 minutes for TSM. That would make me happy.

Epcot, alone? That is like being in the Grand Canyon alone! Too big.
Hollywood Studios? This park has been almost empty several times we have visited. The only action was around the ToT/RRC area. It's depressing to see city streets empty.
MK? Tempting....but it wouldn't be as satisfying to be there without seeing all of those cute kids in Mickey headgear and princess costumes.
Animal Kingdom Would be cool alone. You could really look around and enjoy the beauty and atmosphere of the park and animals.:flower3:

I vote for MK but now that I think about it, as a SOLO traveler it may be a little creepy all alone :lmao:
I was the last person on HM one night (2am on an EMH night), not another person in sight, other than the cast members and I must admit - I was kinda scared.
So I need to change my vote to AK, in the daytime with all of my camera equipment :)

Hmm.... If I could have MK all to myself? I think I would love to stay in Cinderella Castle for the night. I must ride Peter Pans Flight (haven't done that yet). There is just to many possiblities and ideas that I cannot pinpoint everything.
As far as the other parks...
AK: I would also like to take advantage of the surrounding and take an insurmountable amount of unique photos.
Epcot: would just be able to have food and wine to myself.
DHS: I would ride ToT repeatedly and watch Fantasmic (my favorite show) over and over and repeat.

I picked Epcot, not only because it is my favorite park, but I don't think I would have much fun being in the Magic Kingdom by myself. To be honest, one of my favorite things to do in the Magic Kingdom (other than ride Splash Mountain six billion times) is just hang out on Main St. and watch faces of the little kids, or even adults, who have never been there before. It's just one of those warm fuzzies that has made me completely obsessed with Disney and keeps the magic alive. :)

AK. It would be nice to stroll and stop without worrying about holding people up. And I'd get them out of my pics!!!!!!
AK really is the prettiest park.

I picked AK too, mainly because i was so annoyed by how the podcasters panned it a few weeks back...
truth is, i'd pick all the parks......too difficult to pick only one..
i love them all in different ways...
each one has something special...

I would have to pick MK and Epcot. I have been in both before opening and after closing and find aspects of both parks to be wonderful when "alone".
In both parks (and TTC) the background music is really, really, really loud when there is no one else around.
There's just something about being around the castle and having uninterrupted views aroud the rest of the park.
EPCOT - can you say standing under Spaceship earth, feeling the wind blow through, hearing the background music, and NO interruptions.
All of that said - half the fun is people there with others.

Would the CM's have to be there??? If not, I might go with AK. I'd have no problem risking life and limb to get some cool shots of the animals. :lmao:

I would love to be able to wonder through the castle, explore every nook and cranny! My Next option would be The Seas at Epcot. I love the Dive Quest, but would really love being able to dive around in there over and over!

As much as DHS has some of favourite attractions, I vote MK because it's just so pretty and the pictures would be stunning with no else around.
And some stuff just isn't the same without other people around. I'm a weirdo who likes to hear other people scream and laugh and laugh along with them on rides.
Rode the Kraken once with no one else on, just my friend and I and it was just...weird. It was still a good ride just lacked the atmosphere. :confused3
But an empty Main Street, Fantasyland and no queue to meet all my favourite characters? Yes please :thumbsup2

Fun poll! I chose MK mainly because I fancy myself something of a princess and it would be nice to have a castle to myself! I'll pick up a tiara on the way to my suite :tink:
Other than that, I love people watching like many of you mentioned and would love a day with beautiful weather and 5 minute waits on everything - that would be even more fun than having the place to myself.
And this is sort of a tangent, but one of the things I love about Disney in general is that it seems to exemplify the fact that everyone can, in fact, get along and have fun together, even if they seem to have very little in common on the surface.

I also prefer to people watch so I would not want to be Totally alone in the parks.
That said - I would pick MK, and DHS, and Epcot with drastically lower crowds, 5 minute wait for even the bigger attractions, and once I am actually in the attraction, to have it much less crowded.

Magic Kingdom for nostalgic reasons.
I used to be a CM and worked Emporium on the CP. Having closed down the park and then some, it was fun to see main street at night, empty. I also used to love watching Spectro get ready at the back of our stockroom.
If I had the park to myself, I'd just wander Main Street again.

Magic Kingdom...Most of my favorites are there and it would be wonderful not to have to dodge those SUV-sized strollers for a change. ;)

Like many others I would get on one ride after another and just go around and around and around...No getting off and going through the que again. I think that would be especially cool on Splash Mountain and Pirates.:cloud9:

Animal Kingdom - if it were just me. being able to hear the sounds of animals in the distance or even as small as the crickets in that place would be amazing.
but ... if i could take my own crowd (family & friends) ... it would be Magic Kingdom so I could get married right in front of the castle and not be an extremely early morning ceremony - and have a sit down meal on main street ... with a pick your own dessert from the bakery too

I would have to have the Magic Kingdom to myself. When my dad went on one of the tours there and nobody was there the tour guide said to take a picture of Main Street because nobody was there and it is an amazing site.
I would love to go around the castle and stay there the night in the suite. Then I would have to go to Pirates of the Caribbean and jump of the boat and look at the animatronic of Johnny Depp just to see close up!

While Epcot is our favorite park, if I had the chance to have a park all to myself for one day, it would have to the the Magic Kingdom. There is just SO much to do and see, you could probably take a whole day, even if there was no one else there. Also, as a photo nut, the photo ops would be simply amazing with an empty park!

AK really is the prettiest park.
yeah, AK gets pretty congested, but having the experience with all the animals & to be able to take a good portion of time to enjoy the Tree of Life sculptures & all of the missed details because you're too busy running from one show to another. Plus my husband didn't get to enjoy AK when he was there last. He's a big Animal lover, and I think he would spend most of his time at Conservation Station or on the trek trails.

I picked Magic Kingdom because I'd want to ride Haunted Mansion over and over again to catch as many of the little details and hidden mickey's that I could. I've only ridden it a few times so I know I haven't seen it all.

while I haven't been in MK when it is completely empty, I have been there as part of CM only previews or parties and I have to say, it's an AWESOME experience. The park is so peaceful at those times and I absolutely love it!

Animal Kingdom.
Think about it...all the other parks would seem desolate and sad without people. At Animal Kingdom, you still have company. You could talk to the animals, and nobody would think you're weird. You could get the Kilimanjaro Safari driver to stop so you could take pictures. It would be so cool!

DH and I went on the ABD Backstage Magic Tour with the Podcast Crew and DISers. I now know how it feels to have Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure all to yourself (and a few friends)!!!! It was surreal. Besides the CMs, we were the only people in the parks. It was so quiet and peaceful. Priceless! :wizard:

Magic Kingdom, with the caveat that I could bring in friends and family and stage elaborate musical theatre numbers starring all of them throughout the park (i.e., someone singing "Out There" from Hunchback atop the Haunted Mansion. Stuff like that. :rotfl:

:) I had Voted for the magic Kingdom for a number of reasons:
1) Character Lines - you would have to wait in line to have your picture taken with Mickey.
2) Ride Lines - you would have to wait in line your most enjoyable ride.
3) Parades, you could have Wishes to yourself that would be incredible.

I didn't vote because I find the prospect of having the park to myself creepy to the point of feeling I'm the sole survivor of an apocalyptic event. :scared1:
Or thinking the zombies will come out to eat my brain. ;)
I remember the pre-cursor to EMH, the E Ticket Nights at the Magic Kingdom, circa 2000. Resort guests could purchase a ticket for about $12 that acted similarly to the EMH nights. You'd get a wristband at select locations when you turned in your ticket.
Back then, Disney did not oversell the tickets, so you literally felt you were alone in the park at times. Let me tell you, the walk through Frontierland in the dark to get to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain...super creepy in the extreme. I would see maybe a handful of others as I was walking.
It was fun having a bunch of walk on attractions available to us, but I would prefer the delicate balance of having enough people in the park to make it more festive without bottlenecking the attractions.

I actually chose AK. It's the only park we haven't been able to do everything that we want because it gets too hot, then we get tired and don't walk as fast. Plus it's really crowded since the paths are narrower so we can't move as fast. Those combined with the fact that AK closes earlier than the other parks... it would be nice to not have anyone else there and just do what we want when we want it.

I picked Magic Kingdom because the Kingdom is usually busy or crowded. I like it when it's quieter. I love to meander Main Street and enjoy shopping when there's hardly anyone there.
I also love riding Fantasyland with no lines. I did EMH early morning at the Kingdom and it was fabulous. I rode all the rides in Fantasyland. I rode Peter Pan twice.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

You don't HAVE to be rich...just being a night owl helps sometimes...we went in early May and were surprised with midnight MK closing time on our last night (everything I had seen said 11p until we got to the park and it said 12a) The place cleared out after wishes (around 10:30) and we had the last hour and a half to do whatever we wanted. We rode all of our favorite rides in that 90 mins. I think we counted up and we rode 8 rides after Wishes. The park wasn't totally empty but might as well have been. We walked right on to every single ride in Fantasy Land (including Dumbo at 11:59P). We got to ride Dumbo as our last ride and then as we were walking out we took photos in front of the lit up castle with NO ONE else behind us!! It was the most magical ending to our magical trip and something we will never forget!

I went down shortly after 9/11, just about when planes were allowed to start flying again. I was walking up Main Street in MK about 10am and all of a sudden realized there was nobody. I looked up and down the street and didn't see a living soul, guest or CM. It only lasted a minute but it was really weird
