Hey, has anyone had non-floral centre pieces for their wedding reception tables? Did you make them yourself or buy them? Thanks x :)

Try www.wanderfuls.com (http://www.wanderfuls.com) Someone else has used this idea and it really took care of the wedding favors and were table centerpieces. It is a great idea. :cool1:

Disney Floral can actually design quite a few non-floral centerpieces.

This was for our "Lady and the Tramp" themed Welcome Dinner

And I bought these horses for the tea party. They certainly could have stood alone without floral, or with silks.

I am using lanterns for centerpieces for the Attic:

Wow, those look lovely. Hope you don't mind me asking but does Disney charge a fortune for non-floral centrepieces? I love the ones from your Dessert Party and the horses are really pretty.

Lanterns are a really good idea. They'll look great!

We are doing our reception in the living seas and I was thinking about doing Sand Castles. Does anyone know if Disney has something like this or would we need to bring our own?

I was also wondering, I was looking online yesterday and saw Ostrich Feather centerpieces and it is exactly what I want for our wedding. Does anyone know what they would charge if we brought our own stuff?

I actually bought the horses myself, and I think they were $240 for 5 of them.

I think I had 8 tables at the welcome dinner, and all the centerpieces, which consisted of glass cylinders filled with pasta; tabletop hanging lanterns; silk ivy; battery operated votives was $428. The linens were extra, though.

I've been thinking about doing something like this for ours as well, though it may be a treasure chest or some Hawaiian stuff. I haven't decided which theme I want for the reception yet. about the only thing I do know is that I do not want flowers.

I could be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that Disney Floral MUST do all decor @ LSS, except favors. I'm sincerely hoping this isn't the case because I am certain that I can do things that they won't (shell flowers, etc.). I'm also thinking about doing my own aisle decor at SBP, but think I also read that outdoor location decor MUST be done by Disney Floral as well. Help! Does anyone know if this is true?

Yes, all outdoor decor must be done by Disney Floral, as is the case with LSS. :thumbsup2

I would ask your planner what your options are, Disney Floral can do fabulous things for you without involving flowers.:goodvibes

Correct. You must use Disney Floral to decorate any outdoor location. Oh and Disney Floral can do A LOT of things. They are extremely talented and have a very diverse group working for them. IDK exactly what you mean by shell flowers, but I'm sure that they will work with you and find exactly what you are looking for. :thumbsup2

That's what I thought. And I'm ok with letting Disney Floral do it since we'd be bringing everything (or shipping) from Hawaii. :scared1: My only issue is how much they are going to charge me to do what I'm thinking.

Something like this maybe:

or this but with shell flowers along the bottom

Our planner said that if we do it in the Living Seas, that Disney must do floral, but we can bring in other centerpiece ideas. I know another person on the discussion board had snow globe centerpieces that they had brought for their living seas reception.

Our reception was at Living Seas. We wanted to keep the center pieces cheap, we were spring for Scuba Mickey. lol So we rented from Disney Floral bubble bowls, with a candle, sand, sea shells and sand. They did a nice job and in back in 2008 it was $30 a table. Not bad.

I love the idea of the sand castles. We had the chocolate castle cake toper painted to look like a sand castle. It came out great. If you had a huge budget, it would be cool to put one choc sand castles on each table with a sign that its edible. Im sure guest would get a kick out of that.
