We have always added on the regular dining plan to our DVC stay and have never tried the deluxe or premium. I am having a hard time finding info about the premium dining plan except for the meal entitlements. What else is included? I heard something about tours/recreation? If it is a good value, I might do a 1 night reservation.
Thanks

For bare bone facts, there is information about the Premium and Platinum plans in the DDP FAQ under other information in the first post http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2353648
I haven't ever been really tempted by the premium plan, I think if I went that far I'd go all the way and do the platinum plan. Though V&A's is a HUGE reason as to why I'd lean Platinum.

I'm with Tricia... if I'm gonna do it, I'd probably go for Platinum. But that's beside the point.
Both Premium and Platinum are essentially DxDP on steroids, plus they make your resort stay more of an all-inclusive experience. This is of less interest if you plan on visiting the parks all day, but if you're going to take part in resort activities like golf, sailing, fishing, tennis, etc., well, that's all included in the price of the Platinum or Premium plan.
You also get unlimited use of tours (listed in the brochure), subject to dates and availability. Tickets to La Nouba. Use of the kid's clubs (and in-room babysitting, on Platinum).
Platinum includes some extra perks, 1 per stay: private fireworks cruise, reserved Fantasmic! seating, spa treatment, ride-along at Richard Petty, and a Photopass CD (1 per party).

The Premium and Platinum package plans are usually referred to as dining plans, but they are not - they're a totally separate program from the Disney Dining Plans.
There are brochures for both the Premium and Platinum plans that outline EVERYTHING you are entitled to, linked to the FAQ thread that Tricia referred to. It is far more than just dining. As for dining, it is not the same as the Disney Dining Deluxe Plan. There are restaurants included that are not included on the dining plan, and there are no two-credit restaurants. All restaurants, even signatures, cost one dining credit on the premium or platinum plans.
Also, you may wish to take notice of another way they are different from the dining plans - you cannot add Premium or Platinum package plans to a DVC points reservation. They are applicable only to MYW package reservations. So if you are looking for a 1 night reservation on the premium or platinum, you would need to book that as a package, and not with DVC.

There's a cool thread about trying the premium/platinum plan for just one night, check it out! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2404255
