I did mine on Thursday (didn't do June because I was at WDW). July's total was fifty with a few dollars in quarters and some dimes and nickles left over. It is all rolled, but I have to go and switch it for bills on Monday. :p

I counted mine last night and had a total of $122 with a few nickles and dimes left over!!!! It was all in silver change, no bills!!! I am taking it to the bank today to get bills and then I'm off to TDS!!!! Disney Dollars are what that is going toward!!!!

I can't wait to see how much I can save during August!!!

Ohhh...I almost forgot at the begining of summer I took a bunch of my kids clothes to the second hand shop. I stopped there today and I had 28.25 waiting for me! I stopped at the bank and had this months change converted to bills. Now they all sit in the big plastic beer bottle waiting for more dead president's to join them until there is enough for Poly Concierge!LOL. :p

Amanda, mine are never as great as most people here do, but we're not here to judge how much you saved, but rather to cheer you on and support your endeavors to save! I know that it will take me three years to get what I want at the rate I am saving. ;) I'm sure the money you saved was money that would not otherwise added up to help you get to a goal you have set for yourself. Keep saving and enjoy the benefits of your hard work!

We do this every time we go on vacation, one year we saved about $300 in six months. I was only looking to have it cover the towncar, I was very surprised!

I just did this this past weekend! I was very surprised to count out over $90! WOOHOO!! Into my Disney Fantasy Fund!

When dh comes home each night, he dumps his change into a cup & takes out some the next morning but leaves most of it in there. I come along at the end of the week and dump the entire cup into a mason jar on my kitchen hutch- Once a month I try and count it out. This months was probably my biggest haul!!

And I just found out the local supermarket takes cash for cans so I am starting to collect those soda cans!!

Watch us grow!!

Wow, this is funny. I got back this summer from WDW. I am ready to go again. I told my DH I would pay for plane fare. He laughed and said how are you going to do that because I do not work. I started collecting all of the loose change every where. I already have about $50.00. I might even have a yard sale. I have only been to WDW 2 times. I enjoyed it more the second time. I guess I have the WDW fever.. corvair amy

How do you save so much change? I NEVER spend my change, it all goes into the jar, but it only adds up to a few dollars a week. I must need to shop more!

Congrats to all! :)

Corvair, I dont work either and I had the same idea as you. I would scrimp, save and whatever else to get money for another trip. Well ive got over 400. stashed away that hubby has no idea about!! Ive collected any change I could find, Hubby never pays with change so there is always plenty on his dresser for me to collect. When I have extra money from shopping, I stash it so I wont spend it. He will be amazed because he knows how I love to spend money but you know what, I love Disney more and id rather shop there!! Dont tell me I cant do it cuz I can!!!

Good luck to all the coin collectors, keep it up

Well, I have 10.00 in quarters left over from my June trip. Plus I am working on the dimes and nickles jar. Only 1/4 of the way full. I will tally on Oct. 1 after I keep adding.

I just counter mine and I have $212. since the beginning of April. I think the dimes add up the fastest!

Well...we have $30 for 2 months' worth. We don't spend cash too much (debit card for most everything). But I am excited at how much we have so far in our jar. We've never done this before so any amount is good for us! Plus, we have until Sept 2003 to save. It will be really interesting to see how much we save then.

You guys have all done so well! I'd like to join the Disney Change Club too, if I may.

Last year I was able to save about $70 in change but it was so much work wrapping those pennies so this time I've only saved quarters. Actually, I was trying to collect all the new quarters that have come out but I broke down the other day and bought a holder with all the quarters (nice shiny quarters) that have been minted already in the slots (18 down, 32 state quarters to go). Anyway, I have lots and lots of quarters in my bear jar that I'm going to count next month, along with any other silver change I can get my hands on. But this thread is wonderful because it encourages you put that change away and that's what I'm determined to do for our November trip. Thanks guys, what a wonderful thread! :D

Man this change this has been HARD! At first we were all borrowing....I even borrowed to buy Six Flags Season Passes!!!

But now we are all payed up..

We have $100 in cash, and like about $25 in rolled change, as well as $68 in the bank....not much but we will use it to buy Disney Dollars to pre-pay for the tickets....is that a good way???

Vacation home will be paid for a month in advance and airline tickets I BELIEVE they charge you right when you buy them, so those will be in advance....so with the change we can in a way pre-buy our tickets though not really!

I love this thread!! I am going to count my coins today!! Now that we have EZPass, I didn't need to use my coins this summer on the highways. The tough part for me is when school starts and the kids want to buy snacks and stuff from school and I'm in that jar giving out change - gonna stop that one!!

I opened a separate bank account for my change. My bank also has a penny arcade that counts the change for you - FREE (no rolling those coins). In addition to the change I throw loose $ bills in the mix, and encourage DH to do so, too. We have ben able to save $1300 since January!!!!!!!

We started in May, and when we rolled it and took it to the bank, we had $375, and DD had $32. Not too shabby. Now we have to start again for October!
