I have always loved balloons, and I thought since our wedding is already costing a fortune, would it be possible to have balloons as our centerpieces? People have told me this is cheesy, but I think it would be fun. Thoughts?

Welcome to the Dis.
We love balloons also and I had seen a wedding on the boards quite a few years ago at ADH where they had balloon bouquets. I kept a photo of them and brought this to my planning session.
We did not do balloon centerpieces - but we did 6 balloon bouquets placed in different places at ADH.
Here were our tables. I think the centerpieces ran under $50.00 each (we had 5 tables).http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q136/lpizzuro123/MistyBefore-Formal-Bonus479.jpg (http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q136/lpizzuro123/?action=view¤t=MistyBefore-Formal-Bonus479.jpg)

Balloon bouquets. I think these were around $35.00 each.

Not sure if you have been to ADH but there are two sets of stairs going down a few steps to the dance floor. We had one bouquet on each side of the dance floor and then one on either side of the stage. We loved them and I did not think they looked childish at all.
Here is a picture of everyone on the dance floor with Mickey and Minnie - you can see the balloons on the sides of the stage.

Looking down on the dance floor from balcony above - you can see the balloons set up in different places.

Not sure if I would use these as centerpieces - but you could definately add them to your venue.

Hi and welcome to the boards:)! I saw another bride on here thinking of using them wrappe around each guest's napkin(something she saw on Martha Stewart's website) and it looked cute. I was going to incorporate bsloons for the kids at mine. What kid doesn't love balloons, and who really doesn't love the Mickey ear balloons? I still love them and I'm in my late 20's. I kind of figured every kid would be asking for one anyway, so why not incorporate them just for the youngsters. They're not childish at all, although David Tutera has said on his sho they're a no no for weddings, but who cares? I say if you love em go for them? Where else besides Disney can you have the adorible Mickey Ear Balloons at your Wedding? Good luck:)!

:lmao::lmao: Sometimes I would love to show David Tutera some of our Disney weddings to see what he thinks.
I remember the show where he said balloons were a no no at weddings. His weddings are beautiful and I know he has done Disney weddings but I think all of us on the Disboards have beautiful weddings.

Thanks so much! I know people think they are tacky, but I think they would be kind of fun. LOVE your centerpieces. Nice to know there is something under 100. Thanks for sharing!

(Sorry for the wierd lighting that is actually a red balloon)
Here's instructions (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=34123558&postcount=218) on how to create it yourself
You could also dress it up a bit with a balloon collar (four 5" air-filled balloons at base of the bubble)
What could be really cute is to have the balloon tied to candy centerpieces on your tables :thumbsup2
