We just rented this movie last weekend.
Yep, I did alot of crying. Sean Penn was EXCELLENT in this movie, as well as the little girl in the movie.

Saw this movie a few weeks ago. Sean Penn was excellent and the little girl was adorable. I did think that the movie was a little too long. It seemed to drag after the first court decision and the end.

I cried through this too, but thanks to a couple of warnings by other DISers I knew the ending was good and that I would cry happy tears. I can't stand crying really sad tears when I watch a movie, I won't watch movies like that.
It did seem to drag a little but I thought Sean Penn did an excellent job protraying his character, he surprised me.

My eighteen year old son just bought a DVD of it last week after we rented it. He wanted his own copy because he loved it so much. I though Sean Penn was fabulous. I can't believe he didn't win an Academy Award for his performance.

I saw this in the theater and I remember being a little teary eyed at points. :)

This is my current favorite movie - I just love it! I saw it because I had read so many DISers' recommendations. :) I definitely cried at the theater, thankfully I was by myself. I bought the DVD when it came out and I still love it.. great movie. The best child acting I've seen in a long time too.

I saw it but found it to be a typical formula movie. Everything seemed very contrived. Sean Penn was excellent though.

We've been trying to rent it but it has been out of stock every time we go. Of course, we have only tried twice:o

I saw it and cried a lot too! I held it together for most of the movie though, until the scene with Michelle Pheiffer (sp?) in Sam's apartment, I lost it then and kept losing it! LOL

I enjoyed this movie also. It was a little boaring at times but overall I'd recommend it!

I've heard it's a great movie, but haven't had a chance to see it yet. :)
