Ooh Kaylee,
I've had my eye on a couple of the new Sony camcorders, one of which was the one you've bought, the DCR PC8/9 and a couple of other JVC's. I'd be really grateful when you've had a play with it if you could give me a mini review.?
Many thanks

We hired a Sony PC100 last October to take to WDW - it was ideal. Easy to use and so small it fitted into the wifes bumbag :)
I keep waiting for the price of these little digital camcordas to come down in price but all that happens is they bring out a new model at the same high price of the previous one :(

Tim,
How much was it to hire?? That may be the answer because I can't stand taking the big old heavy camcorder on holiday as it's a pain in the bum carrying it around.
BTW don't know what you mean by cheap but the cheapest I've seen the Sony DCR PC8 is £680. It's a pity its not in the £500 bracket!!

I hired the Sony for 4 weeks (a week to get used to it, 2 weeks in Orlando and then a week after to transfer the digital tapes onto VHS). It costs £139 for the hire plus a returnable deposit of £250.
The hire company drops the camera of at your home or place of work and arranges for it to be picked up afterwards.
Here's the website for the hire place:
