I need some advice.
We currently have a package booked for 10 days CL at the GF in May with the regular dining plan and park tickets (DH, myself, and two of our children both age 7). Even though we are staying club level we need to have full meals for lunch and dinner which is why we also booked the DDP. Our 45 day point is at the end of this month so I can only make changes without penalty for a few more days.
While we are there in May, DH and I are considering upgrading to annual passes so we can possibly take an adult trip for the two of us to the Food and Wine Festival in October/November.
I'm now wondering if we would do better to cancel the DDP and purchase the TIW card with our annual passes and use the TIW card for our meals.
What appeals to me about doing this is that we will have the flexibility to order what we want instead of having to stick to a meal and dessert. If we want an appetizer instead of dessert we can do that with the TIW card. Plus we have reservations at several two point restaurants and I think it may be more financially feasible with the 20% discount.
DH isn't really thrilled with this option as he truly enjoys the mental comfort of having all of our meals (and our vacation paid for 100% upfront).
Although I don't think this makes any difference, the restaurants we currently have reservations for are:
Le Cellier (Dinner)
1900 Park Fare (Dinner)
Tutto (Dinner)
Narcoossee's (Dinner)
Ohana (Dinner)
T-Rex (Lunch - I know we have to pay OOP on the DDP for this)
Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner)
California Grill (Dinner)
Does anyone have any words of wisdom about this? Should we keep the DDP or should we cancel the DDP and get the TIW card and why?
