To all the DLP Mums out there with only boys ...

Do you ever wish you could eat in Auberge with the princesses?
Take time to watch the Princesses dance in the courtyard?
Have your photo taken with Jessie instead of Woody?
Enjoy a snack in the HSM side rather than the POTC side?
Look in the shops for shoes and handbags instead of lasers/swords/guns/Star Wars ships etc

My 2 boys want to. ....

do a record on RNRC of 8 times in a row
meet Stitch ,Sulley, Buzz, Woody and avoid anything female except Elastigirl :rotfl2:
ride BTM as many times as possible
be pirates swordfighting but avoid Captain Jack coz Mum fancies him :confused3
eat in Cowboy places where they can shout and holler and bang their forks

I have now accepted that I will probably never get to eat in Auberge unless I eat there alone :guilty: and tbh I would rather be whooping and cheering in BBWWS with my boys.

What things do you think you miss out on at DLP because you have only boys? Or only girls? and those with a mix...Is it hard to balance Princesses and Rollercoasters?

Hi. To be honest, my life is so filled with "boy stuff" that I dont know what to do with girl stuff any more :rotfl:

I have 2 sons and 2 stepsons (although we have only taken the 2 to DLP as the others arent really interested), so I generally feel completely outnumbered and have just given in. Tbh I was a tomboy myself, but the only thing I would like to do is eat at the Auberge. Might try and drag them along next time, think the youngest (3) would still enjoy it, but the eldest (9) would probably sit in a corner and sulk, still it might have to be done anyway!

This is so true :lmao:
Parades can be added to the list, no enthusiasm whatsoever from my boys, who usually sit playing DS's, compared to last time I watched Fantillusion, well I couldn't actually see much of it myself but I had my niece on my shoulders, who screamed in my ear
"I can see Minnie and she looks beautiful!"

Having said that at 7 she decided that she didn't want to go to Auberge this year, I hope that when she gets old enough not to care that she's too old for princesses, she'll agree to humour her auntie. lol
Or I have to pray that 1 day I get a grand-daughter !

Until then I do have a 3 year old nephew who's not been and I would love to go and do the pirates/cowboys thing all over again with him. :lovestruc

I miss being able to go and explore in Adventure Land as DD hates it and thinks it boring. She will only go there if there is a Aladdin meet and greet, otherwise she moans lol.

I'm really hoping she will let me go explore Skull rock and Swiss Family tree this year.

I have three boys and can completely understand where you are coming from. We were in Florida last year and on the way to Magic Kingdom on the Disney bus, there were screams of delight from the girls when they seen the Castle ... it bought a tear to my eye, my boys didnt batter a eyelid :confused3

I did manage to drag them into the Castle for lunch a few years ago but that is only because there were 18 of us as we got married at Disney, this was my thank you gift to everyone :goodvibes

I would love to do all the girlie things as i am a girlie girl but seeing the boys face and knowing they are having so much fun makes it seem worthwhile :thumbsup2

mine arent too bad - ds1 rather likes the princesses - but dh wud not be impressed with a visit to auberge lol

ds1 tbh like disney. full stop. anything and everything he is happy with, princesses, woody, jessie, boys & girls so i do feel blessed, but again, the 'dress' issue dh wudnt agree to lmao

ds2 again is disney happy, but does have his preferences (which change every so often).

atm they are 6 & 4, so i know that it wont always be like this - so am making the most of it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just really pleased I don't have to spend loads of money on all the princess dresses, swords are much cheaper:)

Were lucky dd likes everything Disney so dontmiss out on anything. She likes "boys" things to .I find adventure land boring to. Sometimes dh can't go on certain rides, shell ask to go on with him if he says it's a big or scary ride she gets upset and won't let him go as she's worried he'll get scared lol

When I went in 1992 I took my two boys and it was all pirates, cowboys, mickey, Donald, Pluto etc,and we spent hours in adventureland hunting round the caves, pirate ship and treehouse and just sat for hours in Frontierland soaking in the scenery! They loved the parades though (especially the main street electrical parade, I think its called Fantillusion now) and the dragon in the castle.

This year we are taking our daughter and it feels like a totally different experience for me as it's all dining with princesses, the castle, shows, minnie, fantasyland, etc (although she has been looking at our old photos and really wants to get her hands on the pirate hat, sword and ball and chain that my boys had on in a photo taken in front of the sail at Pirates of the Caribbean!..:rotfl:)

ETA. I have also noticed that all my photographs seem to focus on the 'boys' element of the parades, ie. the seven dwarves (no pics of snow white .lol) jungle book characters, roger rabbit (no jessica)....not a princess in sight!!!:rotfl2:

Oh and on our first morning in an almost empty fantasyland we spotted the cast of Mary Poppins walking along but my eldest son didn't want to have his photo taken with them because 'the film is rubbish'.....I think Mary Poppins heard him say this because she gave him one huge grin and shouted and waved hello and winked.......:rotfl2:
