digital cable!

We dropped our "cable box' about 1 1/2 years ago, and couldn't get a lot of channels. Well after that "TradingSpaces" marathon, I wanted the box back!
Since I have a cable modem, it was cheaper to sign up for digital cable then to just add the box, modem and "superchannels", which include TLC and Turner Classic Movies. So I got it.
Wow! I now have many, MANY more channels! I don't even watch that much tv, but the new options I am excited about include 5 Discovery channels, Biography Channel, BBC AMerica, and of course TLC and TCM.
The old box had 30 "music channels" as well, but now I have 45--including (get this--DH is dreading it) ALL SHOW TUNES!!!! :bounce: :bounce:
So I'm cleaning and listening to Broadway's Biggest Hits--it's so cool!

I turns out that it was actually less expensive for us to switch to digital cable. At least is was supposed to be less expensive for 3 months (a discount for signing up). And we were supposed to get 3 HBO channels thrown in to the deal. Lets just say that someone at the cable company must have not flipped the correct switch since we seem to have access to a few "extra" channels. I guess that I don't feel too badly since they messed up the initial discount. And to top it all off, they still think that we have analog cable. Go figure. I guess that the company president was spending too much time stealing $1 million per month to worry about his subscribers.

Wow Towncrier you must have Adelphia! My sister had a choice between Adelphia and another company and she chose the other company, and boy is she patting herself on the back. I hope your stuff gets back to normal soon!
