I just got a free dining pin! Too bad, I probably won't be using it. :(
We just had a new baby and I don't think she is quite ready to go and I am not quite ready to leave her.
Is it true that if you don't use the pins you won't ever get another one?

I got one too, but I won't be using it either. My next trip is in the first week of October for Food and Wine, and we'll be staying on DVC points at BWV.

I got a pin for free Quick Service Dining. I can't use it either. I'm working on a November trip, the pin is only good through the end of August.

sorry to hear you can't use it. We got the % off rooms pin earlier this year, but can't use it, since it expired before our planned travel.
We did receive the free dining pin last year, but then of course free dining was opened up to everyone pretty much anyhow. That was our very first pin ever- and in my husband's name, not mine. The room discount was the first one i ever got.

I keeping hoping that I will get that one in particular, especially since my hubby and I are planning a trip for this May. I am starting to think since we booked a Bounce Back offer last fall they decided they got me and I am out of the rotation for getting any pins this year. Last year I at least got a pin a month all spring long, this year not a single one.
We are booked to stay at POFQ currently with QSD but if we got that pin I would downgrade to POP in a heartbeat then upgrade the dining to the regular dining plan and save some $$$. I did the math and our current room only rate at the mod is a better deal then getting free dining.
The main thing that is killing me is this trip for the two of us is a little less then $500 less then our Sept trip with the kids. Granted we are staying at moderate in May and a value in sept. But in May it is just the two of us and we are only there for 6nights, basic 6 day tickets(no park hoppers), our total does currently include us paying for the 6 day QSD.
But in Sept we are taking both kids ages 10 & 9 granted we are getting free dining with our Bounce Back offer, but we are there for 8nights/9 days have park hoppers and waterparks for all of us.

Me too! First pin code ever - free quick service for the busiest time of the year and during the 'Summer Nightastic' promo. Maybe the promo isn't generating the excitement they were hoping for?

I got it too - free quick service - I think for summer months?
Belair, "Pin" codes are sent by Disney Destinations (postcard or by email) and they have a special several-digit long code. It is specific to an individual and there is some "random" way that Disney decides who gets pin offers. They are not transferrable.
There are many theories as to how to get a pin. Most people say to register online, have trips quoted online, order the planning DVD, etc. etc. Some of us just get them because we have visited before and our names are in the system.
So go to the Disney website, sign-up, play around in there, have some trips quoted, do sommersaults in your living room, wear green undies, but don't hold your breath! It's a crapshoot but it can't hurt to try...

Well....one came to my address...but it was in my Mom's name. She traveled to Disney with us in 2006 and I know she has not registered on the Disney website. We go all the time, no pin code. :confused3

I've gotten PINs twice at our address with the wrong name. I just tell the CM on the phone I have never heard of them (even though I have ;)) and they let me use the PIN.
Good luck!
I've been getting them for WDW regularly for 2 years and DLR for a year. Now I'm getting the ads...ads, not PINs, for Paris.
Sadly, I'm in a job hunt right now- my job ends in May- so there's no Disney in our plans this year.

The only pins we ever get are for Disneyland and upon looking into it...it's usually not very different than offers for the general public. The whole pin code thing is very frustrating for me!
