We're on the middle meal plan (not sure the name--it's not quick service only, and it's not the deluxe). Here's my question...if we book one more table service meal than what we're allotted, we can pay out of pocket, right? If we forgo a quick service meal, can we apply that $ amount toward the additional table service meal and then pay the remaining difference so in the end it wouldn't cost us so much out of pocket? I know it's highly unlikely you can, but thought I'd check.

Yes if you use all your TS credits and plan another you have to pay OOP.
And No you cannot apply your CS credits to the meal to pay less. You must pay the whole thing out of pocket.
Oh and you can plan as many as you are willing to pay for above the DDP.
And you don't have to pay OOP at the end. If you plan on having an extra TS meal, it doesn't have to be at the end of your trip. If you find yourself paying for one, choose the cheapest. Just tell the server that even though you have credits you want to pay OOP for the meal. That way you pay the lesser of any meal you have. (hope that makes sense)
It is the DDP (basic plan) you are on. We love that one, use it everytime for our trips!

Yes, you can pay OOP. (Figure out your cheapest meal to pay for.)
I don't think you can apply CS credits towards TS meals.

You can pay out of pocket. We payed Sci-Fi out of pocket. Hoop Dee Doo was a double credit so we were one credit short. Sci-Fi was the cheapest place we had an ADR for so I just charged it to my room and not on my dining plan.

you can have an extra adr though, correct? sort of a backup if another doesn't work out for some reason? in other words, is there a penalty for adr's not used?

Depends on the ADR. Some of them require a credit card hold, and you'll be charged a fee per person if you don't show up. On these boards, you will find that it is considered a point of etiquette to cancel your restaurant reservations as soon as you know you will not need them, to open up another opportunty for someone else to book that restaurant. It is considered a violation of that same etiquette to hold two restaurant reservations for the same time with the intent of not using one of them.
CS credits cannot be redeemed for TS meals in any circumstances.

They don't put each transaction through. I believe they give you a $500 limit and when it is reached then you have to go (call?) to the front desk and tell them to charge it your CC then you can start charging to your KTTW card again.
If you want to pay cash or Gift Card go to the front desk and pay the charges.
