Gang... for those of you in the GTA what's the easiest way to get from Toronto to Barrie without driving a car? I have yet to decide if I want to rent one or take the bus/train, etc if I head out there to meet my husband who has to head out there for a month or two...

If driving; how long will it take to get to Barrie ((assuming it's not smack dab in the middle of rush-hour :scared1:))

This will be my first venture in Ontario other than 6 hours at Pearson a couple years ago LOL

If you are landing at Pearson to get to Barrie the bus or train may not be that convenient. To take the train/bus you would have to get to downtown Toronto first. Depending on the time of day and the bus/train schedule....which can be limited it could take you a few hours.
Renting a car from Pearson and driving to Barrie is very easy. It should not take you more than an hour unless you run into traffic.
I live in Newmarket which is right in the middle. 35 minutes to the airport and 35 min. to Barrie. We lived in Barrie for a few years and my DH travelled for a living and he could get to the airport in an hour at off peak times.
A shuttle from the airport to Barrie might be as much as renting a car.
Would you be staying in Barrie or on the military base in Base Bordan which is about 15 minutes outside of Barrie.
