DH's quick actions SAVED OUR LIVES Wednesday night!!!!

We were driving to Wisconsin Dells Wednesday evening for a quick 2 night camping trip. We were traveling on a 2 lane highway. Cars were crossing the road, leaving from a tire store. All of a sudden a pickup truck cuts out right in front of a semi-truck that is heading in OUR direction! The truck cut off the semi and was hit in the back. This forced the semi to jack-knife and was sliding right into us. My DH took amazingly quick action and swerved right into the grass and up a slight incline into the drive of the tire place. I could not believe that we didn't get hit, it must have been inches only, I thought for sure at least our back end would have gotten it, because it was in our lane before we were out of it! Our tire tracks heading through the grass begin where the skid marks from the semi end. It was soooo scary! as we were bouncing (literally) across the grass and into the drive all my DH could say was "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry....". Afterward I said My heavens what were YOU sorry for??? YOU just saved our lives!!!!!!!!!!! He is being WAY to modest about all of this, would my Dis family join me in thanking my DH for such quick and amazing instincts and reflexes, because (I believe with a guiding hand) he was able to save us from a terrible head-on crash!

Thanks for the responses! I forgot to mention his name is Glenn. NO ONE was seriously hurt which is truly amazing, we didn't sustain any damage (hopefully nothing will creep up that we didn't know about), and my heart didn't stop racing for a LONG time! I couldn't sleep that night, it just kept repeating in my mind. It was very unsettling!

WOW! Thank goodness you are both okay! What a scarey thing to have to go through. Someone my boss knows was in a horrible accident over the weekend. The W made it, the H... didn't. :(
