So any details?:p

My husband and I will be staying at the Dolphin for the first time in 9 days. How did check in go? How was housekeeping? Was the room in good shape? Did you get the view you paid for? Have you ever stayed at a Disney resort before? If so how did it compare?

Sorry for all of the questions but our trip is getting close and I am excited and concerned all at the same time.

Tiffany,
We were at the Dolphin July 7-12.
I signed up for Starwood Preferred and registered at their desk. There is not always someone on duty there, but we were lucky. I had the teacher's rate for two WE booked a standard room, but I had e-mailed a request for an Epcot view on a higher floor and we were given that. We could see MGM, Epcot, and the Boardwalk from our window.
Housekeeping was fine. No trays left in the hallway.
The room was OK, but the bedspreads and blankets really needed to be replaced. They were a bit frayed. No big deal.
The location of the Dolphin is fantastic. It's so convenient to get to the parks.

I just wanted to say hello to another person from Hoover, AL. I live here too. I've never stayed at the dolphin though. Only the WL and Poly concierge. I may try the dolphin next time though since I would get a teacher discount.

The Swan and Dolphin are the best kept secrets on the property.

From one Vermonter to another!

We are staying at the Dolphin in for the first time in Sept and looking forward to it.

I remember seeing it for the first time and being awestruck at the size and grandeur. I never thought I would actually afford to stay there!

Thank you Sheraton/Westin for government employee discounts!!

Thanks for the feedback gschmerl.

We have a Gold SPG card so I am hoping we will be able to use the seperate check-in line. We have a standard view, king bed, non-smoking room booked with a AAA rate. I emailed the Dolphin a little while back just reiderating our request for a king bed, non-smoking room since it is our 9th Wedding Ann on Aug 14th. "Melissa" replied that she could not garentee it but that she did block a king-bed, non-smoking room for us so baring any unforseen issues we should get what we requested. If we get an upgraded view that would be a bonus but I am not counting on it. Well, thanks again.

How did you folks E-Mail requests to the Dolphin?

There is a link to S/D info on this board and then I just followed links from there. Sorry I do not have the exact URL.
