Hey guys, not been on this forum for a while now, been very busy. Happy to say that my first child is due on Oct 3rd! :) Having not had a DLP trip since 08, I've decided that a trip is overdue at the end of this year. However, how advisable will it be with a 2 month old baby? Should we wait until he/she is older?
Cheers, Lee

First of all congratulations :cool1:
I've taken both of mine when they were one and they loved it. At two months their interaction will be a bit limited but they should enjoy seeing the different colours, lights and moving stuff on Small World and other rides. Looks like you're talking going in winter though and it can be very cold there so lots of blankets, snow suits etc!
If you use baby swap, you should get a number of rides done.
It also depends on how good a sleeper/feeder they are. My DD took ages to feed - sometimes up to an hour, DS wolfed food down then fell asleep straight after. It can make planning the day a bit difficult as you'll probably want to be indoors at that time of year for feeding.

I think my concern would be the weather and feeding too! I think I would rather take an older baby to DLP, but that's just me. 2 Months does mean you would get to do what you wanted as they are not going to be voicing their opinion!!!
A few things to consider (not wanting to be a killjoy At ALL!!!)
- it;s your first, you have no idea how you r going to feel about taking your precious bundle into a big park with lots of people!
- you won't know what kind of a feeder/sleeper they are..may make a difference
- may limit the time you can be out all day???
Congratulations tho'!! There's nothing like motherhood!!! XXX:cutie:

I agree entirely with Zinderella
Besides, Disneyland pales in comparison to the awe, wonder and magic of your first newborn baby......
I wish you and your baby a very happy and healthy future and of course many happy disneyland holidays together....:goodvibes

i too will be anxious as we travel on sept 20th and our baby girl will only 3 months old by then. We were goin to wait until sept 2011 but with the 40% offer we just had to book for this year. And besides our 4yr old son cant wait another year before he goes!
im hoping she will be a good little girl and will be a good eater and sleeper.

First of all congrats you must be so excited:goodvibes
If it were me i wouldnt take a baby that young as the others hav mentioned you wont know sleeping/feeding patterns. The weather in paris can get bitter cold in the winter mths. Also im just thinking how i felt myself when both mine were than young , i rem been recked all the time!!!! and it was a challange to get out of the house to go to tesco not to mention to paris. I wouldnt plan a holiday till baby arrives and you both get the 6wk all clear. (as a mum of a 27weeker i know only too well things dont always go to plan!!!)Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy though:hug:

Congratulations!!
My LO is 4 1/2 months old and we goto DLP on Sat :) :) :)
We did book this before he was born as something to look forward to and to take advantage of the low season before I went back to work - there have been MANY occasions when I've thought "oh we will never make it to Paris" but he's a good little baby and we both feel it's totally do able at the age he is now (having dropped a few feeds/frequency of feeds a day, sleeping through the night etc) its going to be different but I think a great holiday with lots of magical memories. Being honest at 8 weeks I wouldn't have been able to do it - it's tough those first 3 months and some days we didn't even make it out of PJs never mind organise a passport/packing etc to get us to DLP! If there was anyway you could wait even just an additional 8/10 weeks I think you would have a more enjoyable time and your little one would enjoy it a little bit more too. When I get back I'll write a TR about DLP with a small baby too.

First up, a big congrats, you must be really excited!
I would agree with the cold weather concerns, and also that you may be very very tired at that stage yourself, you'll only be a few weeks over the birth and getting used to your new little baby's personality quirks. It is an amazing time, but a bit of a blur :)
I'd tend to agree with daiseyirl about waiting to book a holiday after the baby arrives, you could go the full 2 weeks over past your due date and be then looking at bringing a 1.5 month old baby with you.
Hope this isn't putting a downer on your holiday plans but I guarantee you will be so smitten with your gorgeous baby that you wouldn't mind postponing a trip for a while! Best of luck :)

Thanks for all your advice. I probably should have mde it clear that my wife was the one expecting the baby. :rotfl2: I think I'll consider everything and then make a decision. :goodvibes

i have just come back from 2 weeks in florida and Belle has just turned 6 months. I would wait until the baby is here (congrats by the way!!!) and then book as you will then know what the baby is like. I agree its good to have something to aim for, however like someone said your wife could go 2 weeks over and may then end up with a c-section and be off her feet for a while. I had the perfect birth planned and had planned to be back on my feet within a few weeks, the reality was i went 15 days over my due date and ended up with a c-section, wound got infected etc etc... and i only got signed off from the doctor a month and a bit ago, so def dont book anything until bubs is here *** things never turn out how you hope! the other option is you could always take a pre baby break, thats what we did, we called it our babymoon  and went when i was 23 weeks pregnant. Couldnt go on any fast rides, but i had a lovely time just being there :goodvibes:goodvibes

I agree that you should wait to book until after the baby arrives. Personally, I wouldn't have been able to cope at that early stage with my first baby. I just spent the first 3 months sitting on the sofa feeding! The youngest baby I took with me was 6 mths (not my first) & that was fine because she was in a routine and we went in the summer when the weather was warm. Could you not book and go in the next few months to get your disney fix or would your wife prefer to go when she able to ride the faster rides? I went at about 20 weeks pregnant (but I don't go on fast rides anyway) and I would say I got more done than with a baby in tow.
Good luck with your decision.
First of all, congratulations to you both!

I third this! Is it possible for you to take a trip before the baby arrives? Even if it isn't DLP, I would definitely advise a nice holiday somewhere before October, whilst it's still just the two of you. It makes for a very special trip :goodvibes

Yes, a pre-baby trip is such a great idea, we visiting DLP when I was pregnant with DD, I was 20-something months then and she absolutely loves to look at the photos of when she was there in Mama's belly :) I only went on Small World but we had such a wonderful time strolling around & soaking up the atmosphere :wizard:

A prebaby trip isn't gonna happen unfortunately. :confused3
However, I think that I can probably wait until next April, when my ISA will pay interest and the baba will be 6 months old. :) Are there any new attractions I can look forward to? Toy Story Land looks amazing, especially as I'm one of the world's biggest Toy Story fans!

I think that sounds like a plan!!!
ToyStoryLand will be open for sure...they can't delay it for THAT long!!!! Don't know of anything else planned for next year as TSPL is quite a biggy really.
