We've probably stayed at RPR 10 times and loved it every time, so I was a little disappointed this time around. We checked in at 8:30 am on Sunday morning (3/14). Our friends had connecting rooms and we checked in at the exact same time. The front desk gave us our room keys and advised that the rooms weren't ready, but they would call us when they were. We stayed at the parks until 4:30 that day. Our friend got a call and we didn't. We assumed it was an oversight. We got to the hotel to find out that our room wasn't ready but they could give us another room on the same floor. I was furious. We had dinner reservations to get to. If they knew that we checked in together and we checked in at 8:30, couldn't they have ensured that those two rooms were BOTH ready at the same time? Geez. My hubby had a bad foot and my boys were tired and in need of down time before dinner. RPR did give the entire party a free breakfast in the Islands Dining Room for the next morning as compensation, but it really put a damper on our evening.

Other than that, we had a very nice time. I just couldn't believe housekeeping was so SLOOOOOW.

There may have been an issue with the room that made it not ready. This happened to us once and it turned out that something had happened with the carpet and they had to clean it and it was still wet so we were given a different room.

We had this happen once and it was at RPR also. We arrived very early AM and the room wasn't ready until almost 6P. They compensated us generously after speaking to the manager. We never found out what the actual issue was but there must have been one. After that experience we call the front desk if we haven't received a call from them by check-in time. Most times our room is ready early so their track record has been good over-all.

Its frustrating when things go awry on vacation. I hope the rest of your trip was excellent. :) Was it crowded?

We have stayed at all 3 and were disappointed with the staff at RPR. Club level staff were the nicest but front desk left a lot to be desired. We had the same problem no phone call and room not ready. Big disappointment when you have plans for the evening and 5 need showers. Luckily I got a customer satisfaction survey that year so put it all down including the glasses etc that were lying about the pool.

We stayed there 2 years ago for the FOTL privileges. I was extremely disappointed in the front desk staff, the tiny size of the almost dungeon room we got, and the poor service at the pool. I had high expectations based on all the great reviews people post on here and it was quite a let down. We had stayed at the Hard Rock previously and loved it, but were trying to save $$ so went to RPR. Never again. We all hate it now, and we will be staying at Hard Rock this year, but just for one night since it is so expensive.

This is my first bad experience at this hotel, so I wouldn't worry about your trips. We were well compensated for the inconvenience.

It was surprisingly crowded - even on Monday which I did NOT expect. But with FOTL, there were no worries :) My husband and our friend got to Universal before opening on Monday morning in order to ride RRR. They were back at the hotel by 9:30 after riding and said that the line was already over 40 minutes. Wow.

Same with us. RPR is our favorite hotel out of the three and we've done all three more than once. We've never had any issues at all, and the front desk staff seems to bend over backwards to be helpful and efficient. Things like that can happen at any hotel. Getting a free breakfast from Islands isn't too shabby, that's worth a few bucks!

We've stayed at Royal Pacific twice and never had any problems. Don't worry.

Stayed there last year and we LOVED it. Staying there again this year. The room was just fine for us, and there was 5 of us.:confused3
