I know this is a program that looks for spyware and I am currently using it. However, what does it really do? I delete the files that show:

C:\WINDOWS\Cookies\default@servedby.advertising[2].txt
C:\WINDOWS\Cookies\default@doubleclick[1].txt
C:\WINDOWS\Cookies\default@fastclick[3].txt
C:\WINDOWS\Cookies\default@fastclick[2].txt
C:\WINDOWS\Cookies\default@media.fastclick[1].txt
C:\WINDOWS\Cookies\default@valueclick[1].txt

but they just come back again. It does say they are not executable.

So, since I know nothing about what all of this means, can someone explain? Does this mean they are tracking my activity?
Just curious.

I did find the opt-out file for the Doubleclick. Ad-Aware shows the following:

Remark: Doubleclick-optout cookie found and ignored

:smooth: :smooth:

Hmmmm, I don't know. When I do it, I get the valueclick & doubleclick ones and just delete them....I don't think I've ever gotten a message like you got. You might ask the folks over on the tech board, they would probably know.....or Malificent2, she's seems knowledgable about this sort of thing. Mal? Any thoughts here?

hi

they will come back because you are doing a program that keeps putting them back on your computer.

Just keep removing them.

Ask this question over on the tech board they might have a more tech answer for you.

sorry I cold not help more.
